The food (I ordered grilled chicken rice wraps and the beef pho) was, for a lack of a better word, delicious and the portions were huge. I had to share. This place is worth exploring. I wanted to come because they have a wider range of dishes than the usual pho and bun and banh mi. I love those dishes, but it's great to branch out. We LOVED the clay pot catfish, which was meaty and sweet and rich. The ong choy and pork belly both had great texture, but were a little on the salty side for us. That meant it was particularly important to have the rice, which was not included -- pay the $5 for it. We hope to try the catfish tom yum next time. Dac biet banh mi was first rate. First time trying out Pho Thanh after passing by it for years! We came on a late Saturday night with a craving for pho. Everything came out quick and our soups came out nice and hot. There was a bunch of meat in the combination pho and huge oxtails in the oxtail pho my friend ordered. The portion sizes are great! The spring rolls were fresh and did not skimp out on any ingredients. I also ordered the sugar cane juice and it was so refreshing! Not overly salted and you can taste the bone broth which I think a lot of other broths lack. Service was attentive and nice. All received was their left over chicken bones from their soup based and watery soup. I can't believe this would be acceptable. I'd definitely give this place a 5 star if they cleaned it a little more, removing the grime around and getting a little more organized with how they take orders and not running around like a chicken with no head lol... Now I've been coming here for the past 6 months and have tried many of their banh mi sandwiches and a couple different Pho and some appetizers. They are all very flavorful and delicious, you can taste the different herbs and spices they use in their pho broth so all you have to know what meat you want to eat with it, and the best part is if you buy one you get one free except for the oxtail, that's not part of that deal. I don't know what time that starts and ends each day but I came around 6pm when I ordered. Their banh mi's are all good regardless of the one your craving but I'd say the charbroiled chicken and charbroiled beef has to be my favorite, it definitely taste like the meat is marinated in a sauce with star anise and five spice then grilled up real nice. My parents were in town from Denver and they're truly straight up Vietnamese parents and my mom is a Vietnamese cook so she knows her stuff. We ordered a traditional Vietnamese meal including Canh chua tom (sweet and sour style soup), ca kho tho (braised catfish in clay pot), ca chien (fried tilapia), muc xao mam ruoc (squid stir fried in shrimp paste), rau muong xao toi (Vietnamese spinach stir fried in garlic)The ca kho to was decent not the best I've had, the ca chien tilapia was good but can't mess that up, the muc xao mam ruoc would've been great had there been more squid then veggies, the rau muong was pretty good but once again can't really mess up stir fried spinach and garlic. Now on to the Canh chua when it came out my mom immediately noticed that the shrimp was bad every shrimp had black spots which means there spoiled or they were thawed and re-frozen (this can also get you sick by the way), so my mom immediately called it out to the waiter( which was super nice) so he acknowledged they didn't look to fresh so he gave us other suggestions. We decided to go with Canh chua ca (sweet and sour soup with catfish), when this came out omg it wasn't any better, they threw an entire catfish cut up with skin and all into the bowl, the bowl was filled more with catfish than the actual soup!!! It became so overwhelming that all you tasted was fish even after the meal. The service was very good served was attentive hence the one star. The ambiance was confusing Its a Viet restaurant with Japanese cherry blossoms EVERYWHERE,. I was either in a Japanese restaurant or in a Japanese garden? The new DECO is way too tacky. I Was not impressed probably will never return specially if they try to serve they're customers those nasty shrimps because who knows what else they cut back on and serve. read more

When I called, the lady who answered on the other line insisted to order when I walk-in since it only takes 5 minutes to make the drink. Decidedly, I didn't argue (I could have anyways, since she hung up). When I got there, it was busy. I ended up waiting for more than 15 minues... People who came in after me got serviced before I did, and they had forgotten my order twice. So, here's my consensus: It can be a good experience if dining in. My son who has been a little Yelpy lately introduced me to Pho Thanh. It was past my bedtime 9:30p and it was fairly busy but the food was delicious and worth it. The other customers were all really lovely that night too which made it even better. The decor was cute and thoughtful with the variety of wall flowers on different walls. I waited over 20 min for 3 orders of banh mi's and no one bothered to make my order in the kitchen, until I went up to the counter to ask. They kept telling me it's on its way but was pulling my chain. There were 2 tables dining in so they couldn't be that busy? How long does it take to make 3 sandwiches? One of the older staff walked around coughing without covering her mouth and I felt the need to ask for my refund and leave at that point. First time coming into this establishment and was pretty skeptical. Once you walk in your met with a little store to your right and the dining area to your left. I got the bun bo hue, which was rich with a nice kick, nothing I've ever had before. Definitely someone's grandma put some love into it. 10/10. My girlfriend had the rare beef and brisket pho.
