Pho Thin is temporary within an Asian fusion restaurant in Little Cottonwood. We got a tip from a Vietnamese rideshare driver to check out this spot, otherwise it's a bit hard to find within the other restaurant. We had easy service as the place was not crowded on a Wed for lunch. The tofu roll appetizer was authentic to my experience in South Vietnam. Coffee and tea drinks are available, and I ordered Thai Tea. True to its recipe, it's quite sweet, and in my older age I can hardly handle that level of sweetness. No regrets though! I loved the Beef Pho, which is their main dish. I ordered a fattier brisket beef, but round eye is available for a leaner cut. I'm being specific bc there's another waitress that she's awesome and amazing but the one today omg awful is an understatement I really hope that she's the owner but at the same time if she is wow so sad. I wanted to grab a bowl of pho for lunch, today, so I headed over to Pho Thin for the first time, ever, which is, "Temporarily operating in SAOLA Restaurant & Lounge building as a pop-up." When I arrived at noon, the parking lot was not crowded. There was only one woman working the front of house and one table of four seated on the Saola side of the dining room. The Pho Thin side was empty and I was seated at a two top facing the bar. The entire space is large, clean and modern. The woman working the front of house was very friendly and quickly took my order of pho with beef tendon and extra beef tendon. I didn't have to wait long for it to arrive. Typically, pho tends to be served with almost all of the liquid fat skimmed out of the broth. This broth had quite a bit of it, which I greatly enjoyed, except for the greasy splatters that appeared on my clothes. It was a bib or apron-required kind of pho. The beef tendon was just about perfect. I like it big. I like it chunky. Yum! I enjoyed the pho enough that I plan to return with my wife for another bowl sooner, rather than later. I'm looking forward to trying other items on the menu. I'm also looking forward to dining at Saola, which I was told serves Vietnamese and Asian-fusion cuisine. We had a large group after coming down from Snowbird and stumbled upon Pho Thin. For someone who grew up eating Vietnamese food and also going to the Vietnamese restaurants in West Valley, Pho Thin was extremely expensive in my opinion. For the size of my bowl and the price I paid, I felt like I could've gotten more down in the valley. And a Vietnamese coffee was almost $7... Maybe it's because of the location being the only Vietnamese restaurant in the area. They do mention that Northern-style pho isn't served with basil and beansports, but they did provide it to us. I think it's because they knew that some of us were Vietnamese/Asian. I noticed that the broth was a little bit more fatty/oily compared to most places I've eaten at, but it's not a complaint. Cute little restaurant with ample seating. We got seated right away and ordered the cream cheese wontons, butter garlic wings, and the grilled pork paper wraps (spring rolls). Cream cheese wontons were good but the wrapper wasn't crispy. The butter garlic wings came out hot and fresh. I liked that the batter was light and crispy. The dipping sauce is like a fish sauce which adds a nice kick to the wings. The pork paper wraps were grilled perfectly and came with fresh herbs on the side. You assemble the wraps yourself which is great because you can decide how much or little of everything you want. The dipping sauce was delicious! It's a hoisin/peanut butter sauce- adding siracha made it even more tasty! Service was great and I noticed a lot of people ordering take out. They don't validate if you park in the garage. read more

I've been coming here for years now. Their vegan pho broth and shrimp salad rolls are good. It's been a while since I've been here, probably since the restaurants reopened again after the pandemic. I dined with my mom, we were seated right away. You can tell they're short staffed (like most restos) because it took them a minute to get our water and order but their food is still pretty tasty! Nonetheless, the staff is very nice. Parking can get tricky here since it's mostly along street parking. Inside the restaurant, they are now seating at the bar and have adorable lights on the ceiling above dining floor. I ordered their vegan pho (southern style) with tofu and their shrimp salad rolls. Their pho only comes with rice noodles, carrots, jicama, onions, and the sides: a little Thai basil, bean sprouts, jalapeños, and a wedge of lime. I like to order a side of cilantro. Although their tofu has changed to a square shape instead of a flat soft strip kind, it is still my place to go for pho. I'd like it if there was more of the Thai basil on the side as well as mint in the shrimp rolls. read more

Not good anymore. I'm so sad about this. My daughter and I got takeout and she received a stink eye for not leaving a tip. She's a kid and should have been given a pass for this (I always tip takeout but I have fewer financial barriers). The noodles were a solid brick that couldn't be unbricked by adding the pho broth. So, all the noodles were either broken or still in a chunk. Not pleasant. The broth was not as flavorful as before. The bean sprouts and basil were fresh and nice but these were the only positives. They make a good bowl of pho. Seems a couple bucks more expensive than some other places. I got an order of the Chicken Lettuce Wraps and for pho I chose the Extreme Cuts which had brisket, meatball, tendon and tripe. The chicken for the wraps was very tasty! I liked that they have the lettuce on the sides so you can make your own wraps, but since they just chop off a quarter of an iceberg, only the first half of it is going to be good for wraps before it starts getting all rindy. The pho was excellent as well. It was my first time trying tendon so I have no reference but don't think I am a big fan - tasted essentially like globs of lard to me, don't think I need to pay extra for that next time. We were looking for some place to eat driving from Park City to Salt Lake City for our flight that left out of Salt Lake City. This was decently rated Pho and I would agree. Nothing absolutely spectacular but still good. I like that their bowls weren't absolutely GINORMOUS but still a decent size (you can also upgrade the size to 48oz for $4). They also allow you to complete customize your pho between the meat choices and upgrades. They also have banh mi's, spring rolls, rice plates, vermicelli salad and some stir fries. We ordered the Fried Pork Spring Rolls and, I personally wasn't a fan. Not what I'm used to from our local spot in Chandler, Arizona. The batter around the roll was not an actual egg roll wrapper which made it crunchier, but I didn't love the texture. Also the filling, to me, was just ok. Fun fact: there is a place in Hanoi that is called pho thin. I informed the owner about pho thin in Salt Lake and apparently they are not affiliated. However, pho thin Salt Lake has two northern favorites I have not seen elsewhere around here: northern style pho and breadsticks. In the Hanoi location, you sit in an alley and a man separate from the store comes by to sell you breadsticks. They are light and crispy and delicious. The salt lake version sells everything from one spot and they don't let motorcycles drive through the store. But they still make pretty good pho. read more

I am insanely grateful that there are vegan and vegetarian options that taste as though someone was trying to make them taste like something. The portions are reasonable. I like that the pho actually had things in it (often it is little other than broth and noodles) and that you could add things to it. This review is only for the Beef Meatball pho with the addition of Beef Tendon. As someone who has lived on both East and West coasts in Asian dominated areas, this pho fits in with some of the best. Not a lot of places get the beef tendon right. Luckily, someone seems to know what they are doing here so it was melt in your mouth delicious. Broth was flavorful. Noodles were cooked just right. Veggies were fresh. Restaurant was clean and casual. Overall a relaxing vibe. Only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because it's much more expensive than what you can get it for on the coasts. It's the first time I ever paid $16 + tax for a bowl of pho! I'm used to seeing it at around half that price. If it were cheaper, I would probably come by a lot more often. But at the current price point, I'm not going to make it a habit even though pho is what I usually crave the most. read more

Just hit up pho thin, the pho bar attached to Saola, for an apres this past weekend. What a gem of a place to go after the slopes. I feel like I'm always here but not ashamed of it. The food is tasty and always fulfilling. I've yet to have had something here I don't like. My norms are the chicken lettuce wraps (try the baked wings app if you're a wing person- they are worth the wait), Korean BBQ short rib rice plate, Asian BBQ beef brisket sandwich, or the delicious pho. If I could give this place no stars I would!! Absolutely, awful service. I am disgusted by the way my boyfriend and I were treated. Being dismissed multiple times, especially when we were ready to order. We went to leave, because the service was awful, the server did not deserve a tip. She had the nerve to call us back into the restaurant to give us a tip because she is "the best waitress and has the best service, and she deserves it because she is so good." She continued on to say "I will never serve you or your people again." 1. That's fine, I won't ever come here again, hence you do not need to serve me. 2. To discriminate against "my people." you shouldn't even have a job. After leaving the restaurant, and being so upset; I called to speak to the manager. Jenny who answered the phone, yelled and stated that its against the law to take photos. I let her know, not a damn person took photos and I wanted to speak to the manager, she said I can't help you; you don't know anything. I said I would like to speak to a manager, she continued to tell me to get a life and call back another time. No one is available to talk to me. I urge everyone not to come here, terrible service. There will be a letter written to the BBB. Following my phone call, I received a text from an unknown phone number stating "Please call back to ask for a Manager at Pho thin:)".
