Speedy takeout! Not too busy on a Friday night. Massive in portions, though the amount of meat is lacking compared to under pho places, great fish sauce, grilled pork had good flavor, egg rolls were crunchy and had a good amount of filling, ample veggies and noodles! I will definitely come back to check out other items.
Excellent dining experience! Their pho noodles are on point, has excellent flavors with solid soup base, that rivals the famous pho shops in SoCal or San Jose, California! We ordered the Bun Bo Hie and the Ox Tail Pho - both are excellent, where the soup and noodles came out popping hot and stayed hot while eating. Note that you won't find ox tail pho in many pho places due to high cost of food... but here they have it.. Yay! My favorite and go-to is always the Bun Bo Hue and Pho Salt Lake's did not disappoint! Solid soup base with perfectly balanced spices and spiciness. They also have the full legit fixings... pig feet, pork blood, meat loaf slices, etc... excellent!! Their Vietnamese Iced coffee is also very good. Inside is nice and clean, with both booth and table seating. Service is very friendly and efficient. Highly recommended. :)
Not the best pho restaurant in the valley. We just happened to be in Chinatown and this place was convenient. Although if I could go back in time it probably would have been better to just get in the car and drive to pho Saigon up the street. The food took forever to come out. Everyone's meals came out one by one and 10-15 mins in between each (even if it was literally the same thing) and of course we all waited until everyone got their meals to eat which made some plates go cold. We were a table a five and I got my banh hoi first and by the time my grandma got hers my noodles were cold and hard. Not pictured are the bowls of pho. Broth was decent but they skimp on the meat unfortunately. My grandma got the rice plate, the pork was good but the shrimp was tough to eat. All in all, not a great experience and the quality of the food just wasn't worth the poor service.
Super delicious pho broth! Was in the area and it was a colder evening ,perfect weather for Pho. Ordered the Pho Chin . Meat was very tender , broth was clean , flavor was balanced and you can tell that's what they do best . I highly recommend you drop in to try their pho as well as other items on the menu.

Now I do have to warn you though, parking is going to be really hard to find on the weekend. It's just a small plaza so please keep that in mind. Parking is free so you don't need to worry about paying for parking. Now onto the food. I got the pho dac biet (#7a on menu) and it was flavorful and had the right amount of veggies. I also got the cafe sua da (Vietnamese coffee) and it was good too! The service for this place is spot on. You are greeted right when you walk in and will be seated. There is a sign saying that they are understaffed so if it takes them a little bit to get to you, please have patience and compassion. I highly suggest coming here and getting the pho dac biet and ca phe sua da. As always, don't forget to tip :)
Came here for lunch on a Tuesday and was not disappointed! You know, I never thought Vietnamese food would be something I would seek out in SLC, but this place was definitely yummy and worth the drive from the office. The Chicken wings appetizer had four pieces for 4.99. The wings were pretty substantial. I ordered the Bún Đặc Biệt (all the meats) and was so happy that it included Nem Nướng! So yummy. I also got a side of the pho beef broth and it was so delicious. I will have to come back and try the Bánh Hỏi and Com Tam
I finally went here in person. My craving for Bun Bo Hue has yet to be satisfied. I did one take out at a different restaurant and one eat-in at another. This is my third Bun Bo Hue in a 5-day period. The Bun Bo Hue was as good as I remembered. Flavorful broth, good amount of meats (aunthentic too), and fresh veggies to go with it. The goi cuon was also great with pork, shrimp, noodles, herbs, and lettuce. I should have just came here straight away to satisfy my craving. Lesson learned.
After days of eating sandwiches and whatnot in the national parks, I was craving some Asian food back in the city. Pho - Salt Lake hit the spot! Our waiter was very friendly and professional throughout our meal. The pho was served in huge bowls, and portion sizes were generous. The broth had a unique, savory flavor, and the beef was high quality. The only thing I will say is I wish there was more meat, although it wasn't a huge deal. Overall, I'd recommend this place! I think it deserves more stars, considering the reasonable prices, friendly service, and good food.
The last time I was at Pho Salt Lake, I found out that they serve Banh Hoi. A dish that my parents used to serve at their restaurant. I haven't had this dish for almost 15 years. No one in Boise serves it so when I saw it on their menu, I had to have it! My friend's son grabbed dinner to go for us tonight. Everything was packed nicely! I did ask for extra sauce but it wasn't needed. You actually got a nice amount of fish sauce. The noodles were steamed perfectly. You get a quarter chunk of lettuce to eat with the noodles and the charboiled beef. On the side was also fresh herbs and pickled carrots/daikon. The perfect bite is a nice piece of lettuce, noodles, some of the beef, roll that baby up and dip it in the sauce. Everything about this dish is so good! It brought back so many memories. It's amazing how a simple dish can make your heart so content. I can officially leave SLC happy. My last visit here, I got a great bowl of pho. Tonight's meal was everything I wanted. I have nothing but great things to say about this joint. I have checked out other pho joints in the area but none of them have delivered like Pho Salt Lake. Been here several times, one of my favorite viet spots in Utah. Hu Tieu My Tho: 9/10. Glass noodles w/ sliced and ground pork, shrimp, seafood meatball, imitation crab, squid, quail eggs (if you're lucky), lettuce, cilantro, and green onion. You can order it with broth on the side or in the bowl. I like it as a soup with broth rather than on the side so I can have more of that wonderful broth. Broth is amazing and the star of the dish. My favorite proteins are the squid, eggs, and ground pork. The other proteins are okay. I love the abundance of greens. This is usually my go-to. Bun Bo Hue: 8/10. Really good broth as well, the noodles are overcooked usually though. The meat is good. Combination Fried Rice: 9/10. Super good but on the salty side. Thai Tea: 9/10. Very good but could use a bit more flavor. Vietnamese Coffee: 7/10. Little too bitter for my taste but does the job with the caffeine! Service: 9/10. Good, food takes a bit but not too long. Ambiance: 8/10. Traditional Vietnamese restaurant vibe, pay at the counter. Lacking music. read more
Did we go at the wrong time? We waited 30 mins for our food! Usually viet food is fast. Pho broth is on the salty side and the noodle is not chewy. My daughter ordered the grilled pork. Salty and fishy and texture like pork jerky. Very chewy and hard. Weird. Not a great experience. We had better food not far away from the mall. read more

After days of eating sandwiches and whatnot in the national parks, I was craving some Asian food back in the city. Pho - Salt Lake hit the spot! Our waiter was very friendly and professional throughout our meal. The pho was served in huge bowls, and portion sizes were generous. The broth had a unique, savory flavor, and the beef was high quality. The only thing I will say is I wish there was more meat, although it wasn't a huge deal. Overall, I'd recommend this place! I think it deserves more stars, considering the reasonable prices, friendly service, and good food. read more
We were visiting Salt Lake City last weekend and decided to go to chinatown and saw this restaurant. Since we had a craving for pho this would be the right stop. Staffs are very friendly and courteous. Food was also good. We only ate pho since this is the restaurant signature dish. read more

Got lunch here on a saturday around 1 pm and there were empty tables and got seated right away. I got the number 7 and it was pretty good. The broth was flavorful. There were only two people working there at the time so service was slower than expected but didnt make a big difference read more

When we went, most of the diners and staff were non-Asian, so we weren't sure if the pho would be authentic. Service was all right, and the restaurant was more spacious than we anticipated. The menu included a good variety of pho, rice noodle, egg noodle, bun, rice dish, fried rice, and banh mi. Flavor tasted ok, but we felt the ratio of the ingredient vs noodle was off balanced. There were more noodles than meat/other stuff. However, having a bowl of pho around $10 is hard to find nowadays. read more

I came back for a second time this week to get their egg noodle wonton special soup because I liked it so much the first time. Service was good, the restaurant was clean and the menu had multiple options. As for the soup, the broth was really flavorful and beside three nicely sized savory meat wontons, there were a couple of fresh shrimp, char siu, crab flavored cakes, fish balls and a nice piece of fish. The accompanying vegetables were typical for a pho restaurant; cilantro, bean sprouts. Jalapeño and lime. And I enjoyed the pickled lime lemonade that I had on my first visit which was very refreshing and a nice mix of sweet, salty and tangy. This place will be on my list of the great restaurant choices in the "Chinatown" market complex in Salt Lake City. read more
So I eat at various places in the China Town Shopping Center often, and I saw this place open a while ago. So, first things first, I checked to see what people were saying on Yelp. Well, there were some red flags, so I stayed away. I had some shopping to do at the ChinaTown Supermarket so I knew I was going to eat somewhere in the shopping center and I just decided to see for myself what Pho - Salt Lake was all about. I went in at around 4:45pm on a Tuesday. There was a male employee sitting at one of the tables you can see as you enter and a female employee sitting at another one. They were occupied with phone stuff, but promptly got up when I entered. The male employee sat me and was handed a glass of water which he gave me. I found the Dac Biet before he left the table and ordered that. So let me say, this place does not have nice decor. The entire front area was obviously made for some purpose that is not relevant to Pho - Salt Lake. They have a large glass display counter that is just cluttered with random items and what must have been a large cooking area with an overhead hood vent that has it's oddly forward facing vents covered with faux brick plastic or laminate wall coverings. I mean the whole thing is a mess. The main dining area is very ho hum, would be just fine, but that unused section that must have served a purpose for the previous occupant, I mean DO SOMETHING with that. Get rid of it if nothing else. I was disappointed with my Pho. The broth was overwhelmingly sweet. It wasn't terrible but the sweetness overpowered the other flavors that are what draws me into a bowl of Pho. The Dac Biet is supposed to have Brisket (fatty and tough), Rare Round Eye Beef (It was rare, so I give them props for that), Meatballs (I had two half pieces of meatball), Tripe (I like tripe, that one big reason I get Bac Diet, but this tripe was a huge tough single piece that to eat I had to pick the entire thing up and gnaw at to get a bite off of), and Tendon (Try as I might, searching the bowl, I found absolutely no tendon). I'm sorry I interrupted the staff's phone time for this disappointing encounter. And even though I said get rid of the unused stuff in the front, probably just keep it and see if the next tenant can make use of it, because there is no chance this place lasts. read more
Tried this place when my favorite place was closed. They get an extra star just for being open which isn't a given these days. The Pho was just as good as anywhere I've eaten pho. Authentic flavor and generous portions. The Bun (vermicelli) was mediocre at best but my favorite place sets a pretty high bar. The staff were super friendly and made sure we had refills on water which i appreciated. I'd probably come back for the Pho. read more
This space has changed companies 3 times since Chinatown strip mall was build. 1. Ho Mei opened 2013 closed 2017 2. Pho Hue Ky opened 2017 closed Mid 2019 3. Pho Salt like open Aug 2019 The service started out good when we arrived, then I had to keep asking about the Thai iced tea which came out when we were ready to leave. They comped us for it at least. What I liked was the Hu Tieu soups both had great tasting noodles one small egg noodle the other rice noodle. The Pho Tai chin was overly salty but had quality pieces of beef. Bun bo hue was a bit spicy, and the ended nicely with the Thai iced tea that wasn't too sweet. For sure will be back. read more

It saddens me when the previous pho place here closed down, but with quick excitement a new one popped up in its place. Sadly...that excitement went away. I know they are new and have a couple of things to figure out...but dang...they do need to figure out their stuff. We walked in and was quickly seated. We didn't even get anything yet and someone stopped by the table to ask us if we're ready to order. We had to tell them we don't have water or a menu. They went to get that for us. We got the menu like literally no less than 5 seconds and someone stopped by to ask us if we are ready to order. No time to even look at the menu. This was an on going think. And it wasn't the same person. It was a new person every time. It was like they were all competing with each other on who can get us to order. It was annoying. I get they want to offer the best service, but this just became annoying. The food was decent here. I ordered their vermicelli meat noodles. It's more on the healthier side. It's like a lettuce wrap spring roll but you can be as creative as possible cause you're wrapping it yourself. Some of the hot sauce is not squeezable so be careful or else it will explode everywhere. I can't really tell you anymore cause we were practically rushed throughout this entire processed and I didn't really like that feeling. We were even handed our checks like immediately when we got our food. It was annoying. My friend and I stared at each other and asked if we were asked to leave. South facing within the confines district of the SLC Chinatown area, this establishment is located within parking dIstance of the main Chinatown Supermarket, another adjacent shopping grocery store within the area. Although there's parking outside the restaurant, you might be as lucky to find parking right in front of the restaurant or all the way back to the west of the Chinatown Supermarket. Circling a couple of times around the parking lot might provide for an open space; no guarantee there! The main entrance is through the double panel doors to where the receptionist and what looks like a kitchen/prep area once reside. You are greeted by the owner, a smiling face of Vietnamese origin (I've been to too many Pho shops to recognize them pretty spot on by now --great folks by the way). She got our seats right away within the main seating area containing about 20 tables/booths. When it comes to seating, there's about at most 4 seats to a booth. About 8 of those that are tables, you can definitely combined them to get up to 10 seats -- so potentially you can have big group seatings here as well. The menu is pretty easy to read and understand; it has pictures as well as line items. We ordered the Beef Stew w/ French Bread & the regular Phò Noodles with Meatball and Brisket! Order came in after about 7mins. No bad at all! Overall, this place has pretty good soup - THE MAIN PERSONA AND ESSENCE OF PHO NOODLES!! However, not all things has perfection in them. What they have in the soup base is great, but they lack in the elements of other essentials like meat and the noodles themselves are a little undercook - usually means the hot trenching is probably taken out too soon when the noodles where being cooked in hot boiling water. The Beef Stew on the other was fantastic! Both flavor of the soup base along with flavor within the meat and carrots was really tasty and great!! Truly an amazing dish especially during this wintery months! Give them place a try! I'm recommending it to all! read more
