    Honey walnut shrimp

We wanted to try someplace we've never been to before and found Pho Bien Hoa in Carriage Square. The place is very clean and has an inviting ambiance. We ordered 3 dishes, Orange Chicken, Honey Walnut Shrimp, and Beef Pan Fried Noodles. The noodles were very dry. We asked for more gravy but that didn't help. We couldn't rehydrate the noodles to the consistency. The flavor wasn't bad and needed a little sesame oil. The beef was not tender at all. They need to marinate the beef in baking soda to tenderize the beef. The Orange Chicken was missing something when we first tasted it. It needed more soy sauce. When we added that, it took it to another level. The dish had a nice kick to it which made you want more. The Walnut shrimp was also good. My only complaint is that they do not glaze their walnuts. If they did this, it would really help this dish. Overall, it was alright. I'm not sure the Chinese dishes would bring me back. However, I would be willing to try their bobas and Pho.

Here's a sharp but respectful 1-star review you can post: the food was good but I paid for extra I paid $35 for one regular pho and one large pho, but both came in the same small-sized portions. Felt completely ripped off. If I'm paying extra, I expect to actually get what I ordered--not the smallest size for everything.

Eat here! I've gotten a few tips in the past to eat here, and I wish I had sooner. The fried summer rolls were delicious, they are served with what seems to be a vinegar based dipping sauce that nicely contrasts the savory flavor of the rolls. I ordered a Vietnamese ham báhn mì and a bowl of bún bò huê' - the soup was absolutely delicious. It was savory and spicy with thin slices of beef and pork sausage and thick noodles, and it came out with all the fresh vegetables a bowl of pho would come with, sprouts, jalapeños, Thai basil, cabbage, and a lime wedge. The sandwich was tasty, but I prefer more pickled vegetables and cilantro, this one was a little on the meaty side. My boba smoothie came out a little later than my food, but it was perfect because it was much more of a dessert (I had water with my meal anyway). My waiter recommended the taro smoothie with black sugar boba - absolutely to die for. The service here was really friendly and prompt, I was well taken care of. The location is easy to find and has plenty of good parking. It looks like you can just pop in for a boba tea if you're not hungry, everything is paid up front at the counter. I can't wait to come back!

The food was good. I'm a registered dietitian, so I promote and enjoy food that's good for my body. The food was healthy. However, I wish they had whole grain rice and noodles. I'm usually pretty forgiving, but in cases of extreme greed I have little compassion. We went in and picked up the food. I accidentally let a 15% tip. The lady came out after I had paid and said she forgot to add for the extra broccoli. They insisted I pay the extra $3. The portions were small, especially for the stir fries, but again it was good. See the receipt and pictures.

Try their Boboa. And their coffee. I tried their Pho (do the beef, chicken or brisket) and their vermicelli noodles with chicken. It was a lunch break employee luncheon and everyone loved their dishes. As we were all big fans of Thai food, we choose this location because we heard it was good from our other coworkers and we were not disappointed. Get the boba tea to go. Any flavor. They are all top tier.

I was nervous to branch out from my favorite pho spot but because they have no delivery services, I went with Pho Bien Hoa for the first time. So so grateful for a wonderful experience! My 28. Rare Beef Pho broth was hot upon arrival, and a couple sips of broth alone confirmed it was just the healing brew I needed. I ordered the extra large portion as I knew I'd want some leftovers and the quantity was perfect. Enough for me to have a portion tonight with a bit more for tomorrows lunch while I'm under the weather. The beef was tender and flavorful, and the side beansprouts, jalepenos, Thai basil and lime were plentiful. I enjoyed every bite/slurp and will certainly save this spot for future delivery! Thank you Pho Bien Hoa!

Classic pho spot! Forgot to take pictures of the pho, but got my appetizer, Spring Rolls. Good quality at a good price. It's a no-frills spot with plenty of parking in a plaza. Service is pretty chill too so you won't be rushed either.

Social distancing whole dining in at Pho Bien Hoa. How I've missed pho!

Pho Bien Hoa has lost its luster since I last visited. Maybe that can be blamed on Covid-19 but there are telltale signs that there just isn't as much attention to detail as there was previously. Then interior is getting a bit shabby, and the menus are a bit tattered around the edges. The dish tank needs a good interior cleaning and on the exterior, only three of the four neon signs are lit. I ordered the house special pho which overall was decent, but not great. The broth was a bit salty and lacked depth of flavor. And the tendon added to the pho was really mushy and lacked the gelatinous texture that I enjoy. With other pho restaurants in abundance, I'll likely go elsewhere for my future redwood road pho fix.

All food was salty and vinegar flavored. The short ribs were almost all fat with one piece actually containing meat. The pickled veggies were straight fresh vinegar. One egg roll was extremely freezer burnt. Half the calamari was great and the other half fishy. The rice and tea were fantastic

    23. Brisket Pho

Best pho in slc. I've never been to Vietnam but the pho brings me back i destroyed this bad boy in 12.24 minutes. New record for me. I also only come here for pho because it's so delicious. Anyways 10/10, 5 stars, and chefs kiss

Great food!!! Good service and great prices! Ambience wasn't totally cozy but it was still fine.

The filet mignon pho is now officially over $20 :,(. Still a decent deal, but I used to love to brag about that price tag to friends. They have a large menu, and you can't go wrong. We recently tried the new special Lychee Lemonade. It was delicious. The broth is on par with SoCal Pho from home. The entire restaurant is filled with those comforting, slightly spicy aromatics that make Pho broth so irresistible. Service was always been really friendly and warm, without being overbearing. I liked both rolls and loved the peanut dipping sauce that accompanied the spring rolls. We all ordered Pho which came out quickly. Their soup is excellent and being able to order you meats of choice makes it perfect. We've been here several times and we enjoy their Pho but also enjoy their Bun noodle and rice dishes. One of these days we will work ourselves to the back of the menu where they offer other fried rice and noodle dishes!

We were stopping in SLC for a few days on our way to and from CO and I cannot go anywhere without getting some sort of Asian fix, and while I was looking for Vietnamese food/drinks, I came across Salt City Che and it was highly recommended. Well let me tell you the viet coffee and matcha is legit. I'm a big fan of ube, and both times I got drinks with ube foam, which was so smooth and decadent without overpowering the drinks. Both times my husband got viet lattes and those were also delicious. I also tried their banh cuon (steamed rice rolls) and the friendly staff member asked me if I wanted it heated up, which I did. It was the perfect light on-the-road lunch. They even have banh mi and various desserts too. Generally, on a trip I try to go to as many local spots as I can, so when I make a repeat visit, it means a place is extra special to me.
