This place rivals my some of my favorite spots in San Jose! Came in for a late lunch and we were the only diners. The male server was nice. The food came out quickly. I got a bowl with different cuts of beef and tripe with fresh noodles! I love tripe and I've noticed a lot of pho places stopped offering it. There was a good meat to noodle ratio. The broth was not too salty, not too oily, and I happily slurped it up after I finished up the meat and noodles. The veggies were fresh. Really great, friendly service and flavorful Vietnamese fusion food. We ordered the Pho Tai and the BBQ Pork with rice. The large pho bowl is huge and the noodles are super fresh. The rice set also came with a small salad and consommé. If you like meat forward broths, both the pho and consommé should be on your list. I really wanted a spring roll but couldn't handle a full order and appreciated the staff accommodating the extra add-on. They were so friendly, they also provided samples of their new chicken wings that were delicious, we will order again next time! Last thing, which seems small but I appreciated every glass of water had a slice of lemon - it's those small attention to detail that makes me appreciate this restaurant. This place is in the back of a main plaza in Mt View that has all the major drive-ins Mc Donalds, in&out, krispy kreme, and of course the biggest shop is Costco. They have outdoor dining but u can walk in to order take-out. Took suggestion from yelp elite friend's review and ordered the grilled chicken over rice and pork spring rolls.. my bf ordered the chicken/shrimp fried rice. It was ready after our total wines shopping trip.. they said it would only take 15 mins. They include alot of chili hot sauce with appropriate other sauces like peanut for the spring roll and a sweet oil one for the rice dish. Ordered from Pho Tran Vu again. This time we got one veggie banh mi, one veggie pho, and one No. 44 (Well Done Flank, Fatty Brisket, Tendon, Tripe) Beef Pho. For both pho we asked for fresh noodle (+$0.5). The pho was just as delicious as last time: fresh noodles was still my favorite, and the broth was still super tasty. They gave me generous portion of the noodles, but there wasn't much beef. The broth is not oily or salty, it was very clean and full of flavor. Tasted like we were in Vietnam! We both ordered #43 and I had extra beef balls. Also ordered a Thai ice tea for me and my gf had the Vietnamese coffee! Full of flavor, didn't need to add anything to make it taste better. However, it doesn't hurt to add a pinch or two of sriracha and hoi sin sauce. If you're in the area, even on a hot day, give this place a go and you will be freshened up! Wanted a bowl of pho and decided to get Bun bo Hue instead. I absolutely enjoyed eating the Bun bo Hue I ordered here they were understanding and kind about my customization. One person (I believe he's the owner) helped me find the item in the menu and offered good customer service. I felt taken care of! Overall the Bun bo Hue was delicious and it stayed really hot in the bowl as I was eating. The noodles were just right and the amount of spice was perfect. One of the best spots if not the best spot on the Peninsula of the Bay! Lots of entree variety on the menu aside from pho, and great selection of appetizers. The restaurant has a clean and homey feeling, they also offer both indoor and outdoor seating. Food comes out super fast, and the pho soup is always hot. All the staff here are so incredibly friendly, Pho Tran Vu is probably one of the only pho places that actually check in with you while you're dining to make sure you have everything you need and that the food is to your liking. I want to give a shout out to Orange who was very friendly and helpful with my order. I wanted to order the seafood noodle stir fry but with Ho fun. She said that was totally fine and asked if I wanted it soft or crispy. I had no idea crispy ho fun was possible so I asked what she recommended. She says crispy was good but she said she can do part crispy and the rest as soft since she felt my hesitancy lol She was very friendly about it and I'm so glad she suggested it because it was very good! My dish had a great balance of seafood, veggies and noodles. My friend ordered a chicken noodle soup and she was also very happy with hers. The food also came out very quickly after ordering. Parking was very easy and the place was quite crowded when we left. I really like Pho. I've been here a couple times before the pandemic. This was my first time here in 2 years. They seem to be always packed, lot of foot traffic. Considering how busy it was, I would say they try to get you seated quite quickly. It took some time for the sever to take our orders and bring food. They brought us only one plate of basil and sprouts on the side but were okay to provide one each on request. They can perhaps do a better job in maintaining consistency though. While the first plate of basil and sprouts (on the side) looked fresh and bright, the second plate had wilted and not so fresh basil. Overall, the quality of food is good. I've been here at least two dozen times over the years. Pho has been quite good, a solid 3.5-4.0 especially when you get that rib on the side. Came here 7.18.23 around 18:30. Had to ask the difference between the Crunchy and Fatty Brisket. Ended up ordering the Crunchy Brisket and Rare Steak. We were super hungry. Anyway, the broth looked off, just an even dark brown. It had no taste either. We still ate it but afterwards felt sleepy and thirsty. Clearly the broth had MSG in it and was not their usual very good to excellent broth. Mentioned this to our waitress and she called a manager type who didn't really give a regular customer a satisfactory answer. We reasoned that they ran out of their regular broth and substituted some canned broth. They should have been honest and comped us and we'd be back.
