Best bento shop to go! The staff is so kind and accomodate my request. They are so helpful and friendly. The most important is the food is delicious in a lot of portion. I cannot recommend enough! .

This is a good spot to grab a snack or box for lunch! I had the popcorn chicken as a snack before dinner. The chicken was crispy and seasoned well- can't go wrong with this as a snack!

Came again with my mom this time and decided to try everything on the menu. The spicy katsu chicken bento box is still my fav. The grilled chicken is also very good. The fried tofu and eggrolls are really good. The fried squid and sesame balls were just ok. The milk tea was just ok. Nice place to come that it is very causal for downtown Palo Alto.

This is like Taiwanese comfort food for me. They have spaces to eat. It's very casual. Staff is mainly at the counter. You go to the counter to order and you can sit anywhere. We have mostly ordered to go. But I can see the restaurant part have very basic service. The staff is very straight forward. Not a lot of fluff but not bad. Their food comes out piping hot! The chicken is super crispy. Flavor is good. The side dishes are tasty. Portions are big. One order can easily feed 2 people. Great bang for your buck. We will be back for sure.

Came by the other day to grab a quick bit and it was a surprisingly decent experience. Ordered ahead via their website and my order was ready upon arrival. As O2 Valley is towards the beginning of the University Ave business district, parking was pretty easy a couple blocks away. To my surprise, the venue was empty upon arrival and I was greeted upon arrival and was back outside within 30 seconds. Ordered the garlic popcorn chicken and it was surprisingly fresh, hot, and flavorful. There was a a ton of garlic on top too!

Just went by this place with a friend and the food and service came out very quickly. The serving size was really large and we both took our leftovers home. My sauce came on the side, which was great to keep the chicken crispy for leftovers. The ambiance isn't as cute sadly. It's a place where you order at the counter and have to get your own water, etc.

Garlic popcorn chicken, a garlic lovers dream!! Dropped in ~4:30pm on a Saturday for some popcorn chicken. Aside from the three tables already eating, the place was fairly empty. Service was pretty quick. Once ordered and a trip to the restroom was made, my order was ready. Sauce bar was stocked with sriracha, sweet and spicy chili sauce, and their in house spicy mushroom sauce. Pepper and chili pepper powder are on the tables. Aside from order to go at the register, a lot of things seem self served. Utensils and napkins provided on the tables for dine in. QR code for menu and ordering is also on the table, presumably for dine in. Popcorn chicken was good-- crispy, juicy, and piping hot. Paired with the extra sauces and seasoning dusts found on the tables, this is a great snack! Garlic version came with copious amounts of garlic, which is a plus! But if you're not a fan, basil popcorn chicken is also on the menu. Will return!

Small casual Taiwanese bento box spot. Came here for lunch and got the Taiwanese sausage bento box, which was fine but I much preferred the chicken with basil bento box that my friend got. Will have to get that next time! They also have bubble tea with salted cheese.

Awesome little Taiwanese bento spot! Not a lot of Taiwanese options these days. I got the braised pork bento, which was fair in both pricing and size. This lasted me for two meals The only comment I have is that the food is quite oily. After eating all the bok choy and even the tomato egg, the amount of oil is quite a lot... especially that bok choy.

First time at this location. The Q5 with 75% sweetness is actually so good. As someone who's not usually a fan of boba, I really enjoyed my drink. Their crispy tofu is pretty bland. The garlic popcorn chicken was flavorful, but I wish there was less garlic and a little more chicken. The service was pretty fast. The ambiance inside is nice & clean. A cool place to hangout and get snacks.

R2 - Fried Chicken Cutlet Bento

I really loved the Fried Chicken Cutlet Bento that came with Minced Pork Rice, a Marinated Egg, and the two sides of the day: Tomato Egg Stir-Fry and Sauteed Cabbage with Shredded Carrots. Tastes like popcorn chicken. Crunchy batter that's fun and satisfying to eat. Generous portion of chicken. I love stir-fried tomato and scrambled eggs. I thought about asking if I could order that as a side to go. I enjoyed the cabbage. The marinated egg didn't have much flavor. From my photo, you can see that not much marinade permeated inside the egg. I am still happy to have the egg to eat. Perfect timing given it was the day before Easter! Because it was a holiday weekend, I bumped into two other Sacramento Yelp Elites, Arnel and Erly, who had also traveled to the Bay Area. Ha, they spotted me taking pictures and video around the restaurant! At 3 PM, several restaurants may close and take a break, so I think that may be why all of us ended up at the same restaurant! We have similar foodie tastes and use Yelp to choose where to eat. We all agreed that we wished Sacramento had a yummy Taiwanese restaurant like O2 Valley. Maybe we do with Taiwan Best Mart??? I should go check it out with them. Service was fast, polite, and helpful. Restaurant is clean and simple. The Chat GPT generated artwork of O2 Valley engineers is amusing. I think by requesting that they all be eating bento boxes turned them all Asian! If you're hungry in downtown Palo Alto, go grab something fun to eat and drink at O2 Valley.

Garlic Popcorn Chicken and Lemon Green Tea
    Arnel E.

We were in Palo Alto visiting our daughter at work. During her 3pm lunch break, we happened to pass by this Taiwanese restaurant as we were strolling along University Avenue. This was the ideal spot for us as we were planning for a quick bite at a counter service place with snackable items. Simply furnished, this eatery has posters of their featured menu items and a curios or "timely" ChatGPT generated art that AI might perceive of O2 Valley. I failed to take a photo of said framed image. For drinks, we got the Taro Milk Tea, Oolong and my Lemon Green Tea. I chose 25% sweetness, no ice with aloe mixed in. It was a weird & bitter tasting refreshment as I thought the tea to lemon ratio was out of whack. I finished it anyway. It was an acquired taste kind of drink, I guess. For eats, we shared the Garlic Popcorn Chicken, Hundred Layer Tofu and Crispy Tofu. The latter being unseasoned definitely needed the sauce that came with it. I spiced up this same sauce with the excess garlic bits that came with the chicken. We also happened to see our fellow Yelp Elite from Sacramento, Belinda. She was in town also to visit family. That's one happenstance we wouldn't have thought to happen this Saturday afternoon. We would've tried the generously portioned bento boxes if we were that hungry. A reason to return.

This place has a trendy, stylish atmosphere that feels perfect for date night, drinks with friends, or a nice night out. The space itself was probably my favorite part of the experience. The restaurant leans into an elevated New American menu and cocktail-bar vibe. As for the food... it was okay. Nothing was bad, but nothing really stood out either. I remember feeling like some of the dishes didn't taste as fresh as I was expecting, especially for the price point. The menu sounded more exciting than the actual food ended up being. The biggest thing I remember is that it just wasn't very memorable. When I think back on the meal, I remember the nice ambiance more than any specific dish. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but for the price, I was hoping for at least one "wow, I need to order that again" item. The vibe is great, but the food didn't quite live up to the setting for me. I'd be open to giving it another try, but it's not currently at the top of my list of places to revisit.

While I never…read moremet the man, he has incredible taste, because Sweet Maple has the best breakfast food I've ever had in the bay area. Well worth the trip. The two of us were dubious about the Millionaire's Bacon, because it was hyped up to the point where it seemed unlikely that it could live up to the reputation. We were wrong. We ordered the Millionaire's Bacon sampler platter, which is four strips of long, thick pieces of bacon, baked with brown sugar and spices. There is the original, which is brown sugar, cayenne, red, and black pepper, which was sweet, salty, and the perfect amount of spicy. The other slices were orange, cinnamon, and rosemary. My partner enjoyed the orange best, whereas I loved the cinnamon, but we both thought the rosemary was underwhelming. The bacon itself was very thick and meaty with a minimal amount of fat, and was just clearly high quality pork. Truly worth the hype. We also got the bottomless mimosas, which not only had multiple choices of juice (we got raspberry lemonade) but were surprisingly heavy on the champagne. The waiter kept them coming without us needing to ask, to the point where I had to tell him I was done because I was a little too tipsy for breakfast. My partner got the chicken croffle, and was very impressed. I tried the fried chicken (though not the croffle) and it was very well spiced, very crunchy, and well cooked--juicy and tender. I got the big hip, which is deep fried "french toast". I wouldn't call it french toast myself, but it was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, and came with fresh fruit, butter, and syrup. There wasn't enough syrup for the entire dish, but I asked our waiter for more and he came back with it in less than a minute. On top of the food being as close to perfect as you can get, the service was great. Several different waiters checked in on us throughout the meal, making sure we were enjoying the food and that we didn't need anything else. The vibes of the restaurant are really enjoyable too. The décor is lovely, the sound levels are very reasonable, and everything was spotless during our visit. Overall, I can't recommend Sweet Maple enough, and I'm kind of glad it's not closer to my house because I would go bankrupt with the amount of Millionaire's Bacon I'd buy on a weekly basis.

The chicken and waffles were so crispy and delicious, I wish I ordered that! The Soufflegg wasn't exactly special, it was a soufflé egg that's topped with bacon and some chicken bits, I liked the potatoes more than the soufflé egg actually. Joanie's has been around long enough to wear its old-school vibe with confidence. The service is just fine. Nothing to complain about and nothing to tell write home about. It's a small enough place you are able to flag someone down if you needed something. We both ordered the "Joanie's Breakfast Medley" which includes French toast or two pancakes, two eggs any style, home fries, and your choice of protein (bacon, sausage, corned beef hash, chicken-apple sausage, or ham) for $25.95. We added two coffees, because we are functioning adults who require caffeine to make decisions. The food was fine, it was what a Sunday breakfast should be. I had a bit of a sticker shock when I asked for the bill and saw that it was OVER $75 for two people at breakfast, with tax and tip. I sat there doing the math in my head the way you do when you're hoping the numbers will somehow rearrange themselves into something more palatable. They did not. Now, to be fair, I am fully aware that the cost of ingredients and labor has gone up across the board. I was just operating on an optimistic budget of maybe $60 which I now realize is one of those "back in my day" comments to bore the Gen Zs to tears. If you want a recommendation for something sweet, go straight for the Cherries, Berries and Mascarpone French Toast. The eggs benedict is a reliable choice too, if you're feeling classic. The restaurant is easy to get to as it is located at the corner of California and Ash Street, and there's a large parking structure right next door. Would I go back? Probably, yes. But I will be prepared so that the wallet shock doesn't catch me off guard again.
