#R1 Stir Fry Basil Chicken Bento
    John P.

I stumbled across this place through Yelp and the reviews were too good to ignore especially as someone who loves Taiwanese food. Safe to say, the hype is well deserved. I ordered the Stir Fry Basil Chicken Bento and was immediately impressed by how much you get. The portion is generous, especially for the price! It was loaded with protein and served with two different vegetable sides and a hard boiled egg. It feels like a complete, well-rounded meal rather than the sad, sparse bentos you sometimes end up with. The basil chicken itself was the star cause it was juicy, aromatic, and had just the right kick on mild. If you have any heat tolerance at all, I'd say go mild without hesitation. It's flavorful without being overwhelming. Ordering is super easy through a kiosk, my food was ready in about 8 minutes, and the staff were genuinely friendly. The whole experience was smooth from start to finish. I'll definitely be back to work through more of the menu. If this bento is any indication of what else they're serving, I have a feeling everything hits.

I'm a fan of O2 Valley, and I've been craving the Popcorn Chicken bento. Today I got that for my lunch plus a Lemon Black Tea. I ordered on their website, and within 5 minutes I got a text that my order was ready. Everything looked good, and it was tasty. However, I was bit bummed out to find a staple under the popcorn chicken. I get accidents can happen, but just please be more careful. When I got to the place, I think they had two tables. Not really busy. Maybe that's why my food was completed so fast. The employee was friendly and nice, and she pointed to the table to grab utensils.

Come hungry! Generous rice combinations. I had the Taiwanese chicken cutlet combo. Loved the crunch on the cutlet! Definitely craveable food, especially when using the special mushroom sauce they offer in house. Wish the egg had a gooey center, but it was cooked hard. Would return!

I'm obsessed with popcorn chicken and this place is one of the best. I thought it was a little pricey, but when I saw how big the portions were it made sense. The flavor was good, it was crispy and juicy, and the sides were complementary. It did take a little while for the food to come out, but it was peak lunch time.

This is a good spot to grab a snack or box for lunch! I had the popcorn chicken as a snack before dinner. The chicken was crispy and seasoned well- can't go wrong with this as a snack!

Came again with my mom this time and decided to try everything on the menu. The spicy katsu chicken bento box is still my fav. The grilled chicken is also very good. The fried tofu and eggrolls are really good. The fried squid and sesame balls were just ok. The milk tea was just ok. Nice place to come that it is very causal for downtown Palo Alto.

This is like Taiwanese comfort food for me. They have spaces to eat. It's very casual. Staff is mainly at the counter. You go to the counter to order and you can sit anywhere. We have mostly ordered to go. But I can see the restaurant part have very basic service. The staff is very straight forward. Not a lot of fluff but not bad. Their food comes out piping hot! The chicken is super crispy. Flavor is good. The side dishes are tasty. Portions are big. One order can easily feed 2 people. Great bang for your buck. We will be back for sure.

Came by the other day to grab a quick bit and it was a surprisingly decent experience. Ordered ahead via their website and my order was ready upon arrival. As O2 Valley is towards the beginning of the University Ave business district, parking was pretty easy a couple blocks away. To my surprise, the venue was empty upon arrival and I was greeted upon arrival and was back outside within 30 seconds. Ordered the garlic popcorn chicken and it was surprisingly fresh, hot, and flavorful. There was a a ton of garlic on top too!

Just went by this place with a friend and the food and service came out very quickly. The serving size was really large and we both took our leftovers home. My sauce came on the side, which was great to keep the chicken crispy for leftovers. The ambiance isn't as cute sadly. It's a place where you order at the counter and have to get your own water, etc.

Best bento shop to go! The staff is so kind and accomodate my request. They are so helpful and friendly. The most important is the food is delicious in a lot of portion. I cannot recommend enough! .

Garlic popcorn chicken, a garlic lovers dream!! Dropped in ~4:30pm on a Saturday for some popcorn chicken. Aside from the three tables already eating, the place was fairly empty. Service was pretty quick. Once ordered and a trip to the restroom was made, my order was ready. Sauce bar was stocked with sriracha, sweet and spicy chili sauce, and their in house spicy mushroom sauce. Pepper and chili pepper powder are on the tables. Aside from order to go at the register, a lot of things seem self served. Utensils and napkins provided on the tables for dine in. QR code for menu and ordering is also on the table, presumably for dine in. Popcorn chicken was good-- crispy, juicy, and piping hot. Paired with the extra sauces and seasoning dusts found on the tables, this is a great snack! Garlic version came with copious amounts of garlic, which is a plus! But if you're not a fan, basil popcorn chicken is also on the menu. Will return!

Small casual Taiwanese bento box spot. Came here for lunch and got the Taiwanese sausage bento box, which was fine but I much preferred the chicken with basil bento box that my friend got. Will have to get that next time! They also have bubble tea with salted cheese.

I really loved the Fried Chicken Cutlet Bento that came with Minced Pork Rice, a Marinated Egg, and the two sides of the day: Tomato Egg Stir-Fry and Sauteed Cabbage with Shredded Carrots. Tastes like popcorn chicken. Crunchy batter that's fun and satisfying to eat. Generous portion of chicken. I love stir-fried tomato and scrambled eggs. I thought about asking if I could order that as a side to go. I enjoyed the cabbage. The marinated egg didn't have much flavor. From my photo, you can see that not much marinade permeated inside the egg. I am still happy to have the egg to eat. Perfect timing given it was the day before Easter! Because it was a holiday weekend, I bumped into two other Sacramento Yelp Elites, Arnel and Erly, who had also traveled to the Bay Area. Ha, they spotted me taking pictures and video around the restaurant! At 3 PM, several restaurants may close and take a break, so I think that may be why all of us ended up at the same restaurant! We have similar foodie tastes and use Yelp to choose where to eat. We all agreed that we wished Sacramento had a yummy Taiwanese restaurant like O2 Valley. Maybe we do with Taiwan Best Mart??? I should go check it out with them. Service was fast, polite, and helpful. Restaurant is clean and simple. The Chat GPT generated artwork of O2 Valley engineers is amusing. I think by requesting that they all be eating bento boxes turned them all Asian! If you're hungry in downtown Palo Alto, go grab something fun to eat and drink at O2 Valley.

Unfortunately, I didn't realize the mistake until I was already halfway through the sandwich. I immediately brought it back because consuming dairy makes me violently ill. There was apparently no manager available to speak with about something as serious as an allergen mistake. Rosemarie, the employee who took the sandwich back, barely apologized made no eye contact and looked away and simply said "it's fine," with essentially no empathy or concern about the fact that I had already eaten a significant amount of an allergen. Food allergies are not a preference or a minor inconvenience. Serving someone an allergen can have serious health consequences, and I expected the situation to be treated with urgency, concern, and accountability. Mistakes can happen, but the dismissive response afterward made the experience significantly worse. This location seriously needs better allergy protocols and staff training on how to respond when an allergen mistake occurs.

Plus, on your second visit (w/ a starter pack plan), you get a free smoothie credit ($11 limit)! I tried the Barry's and Brunch smoothie, and the notable ingredients were vanilla whey protein (very beneficial after an intense workout) and gluten free granola (other ingredients were blueberries, bananas, almond milk). The smoothie definitely had a protein-y taste, but the bananas provided a nice and creamy texture. It's definitely very refreshing after a Barry's class and I finished the whole cup! Barry's fuel bar is genius because you can pre order your smoothie, so it'll be waiting for you after your class. So fast, easy, and convenient! Barry's claims to choose ingredients that help you recover quickly (so you can come back again haha). Apparently, if you refuel with protein within 20-30mins after your workout, you can decrease the amount of soreness you feel the following days. The smoothies are a little pricey, most of them being $10+. I wouldn't get one after every workout, but if I want to treat myself and refuel, I would go for one! They just taste SO GOOD after a sweaty time in the red room ;)
