The food was amazing. There is no shortage of pho places in the area but this one is by far our favorite. Service is fast, friendly and efficient. Our favorites are the chicken breast pho and the rare beef flank and boneless short rib combo. I personally like the flat noodle but I can vouch for the regular and egg noodles as well. Portions are decent and they are generous with the green onion. Our server Joyce was a pleasure to interact with and made our experience more than just a stop for sustenance. We've been wanting to try this pho spot in downtown Palo Alto because every time we walk by, it smells amazing from outside. We came right at opening at 5 pm on a Monday. As soon as we walked in though, we noticed a pretty unpleasant smell inside. It smelled like a wet towel or damp carpet, and honestly it almost made us leave. We decided to stay and give the food a chance anyway. We ordered two different pho dishes and both were really good. I especially loved the fresh noodles. We also randomly got a side of fries, which ended up being surprisingly really good too. The best part though was the complimentary pandan waffle. I genuinely loved it!! The bathrooms could also be kept up a little better. Kid ordered Rare USDA Choice Flap Meat, Brisket, and Beef Shank Pho (24 hours bone marrow soup with option of fresh noodle, regular noodle, or egg noodle) for a triple hit of protein and a Thai Iced Tea while I opted for a smaller lunch of Pork Egg Rolls (pork, taro, and carrot) and a Vietnamese Salted Cream Coffee (equivalent of 3+ shots of espresso!). All tasted exactly as it should. The interior of the restaurant was surprisingly roomy, offering plenty of tables. We experienced no wait to be seated, but service was slightly lacking, with us having to get the staff's attention rather than them proactively coming to us. Note: an 18% service charge is automatically added to your bill, but you can ask to remove it if you wish. I came here yesterday and really enjoyed it! I got the pho dac biet and nuoc Mia. The pho was phonomenal! I give it a 10/10! The broth was very rich and flavorful. It was the first time that I didn't need to add any hoisin sauce to the broth and it still tasted amazing. I wasn't a fan of their nuoc Mia. It wasn't sweet or flavorful enough. Surprisingly the pho orders came out pretty fast, before the appetizer. First, the plate settings and the utensils are rather clean! They already have a sauce cup mixed with sriracha and hoi sin sauce prepped, which I noticed they didn't have any condiments on the table. Honestly it is cleaner that way too haha. Digging into the pho, the broth is very clean! Noodles were fresh, beef was soft. The beef here was quite enjoyable because it wasn't too tender at all. The rolls were also pretty good! Very clean. The peanut sauce was the most enjoyable of the 3 sauces they had to offer. Overall, the experience was pretty good. It's pretty expensive for pho though ($20). The beef bone was actually delicious though and falling off the bone. But that was probably the best part. That's probably what we would have tipped anyways so...meh I guess. I got a chance to work overtime on Easter Sunday and decided to stop by for some Pho since it's been a hot minute since I got a chance to. I got there right when they opened so I was the first there and was seated promptly. It took about 5 minutes to get my food so service was quick (as it should since Pho is quick to put together). Meats were plenty and it tastes like the meatballs had been simmering in the Pho broth for a good amount of time, it was juicy and not dry on the inside. The one downside is your sauces is pre-portioned on a small plate which is a bummer since I like to douse my Pho with Hoisin sauce (I'm certain you can ask for more). My server Joyce was very attentive and refilled my water several times in the span of 10 minutes, talk about great service! Her Vietnamese is spot on and she's very cute and reminds me of a special certain someone at home, but I won't talk about it here if you catch my drift, lol. Overall service and food exceeded my expectations. I tried to leave a tip but was told gratuity was already added which was okay. Had a chance to visit Pho Ha Noi at the Palo Alto location for a work lunch. The quality of the food at the Palo Alto location seems to be about on par with the Pho Ha Noi on Story. The interior was definitely a step up, with more modern and clean decor inside. Service was friendly and prompt. I ordered Bo Kho (beef stew and banh mi) and Soda Chanh. The stew was super hot (I burned my tongue) but had a nice fatty goodness. My co-workers ordered the Pho Bo with beef ribs and banh tuoi (fresh noodles). They looked visually similar to the same dish at the Story location. If you are up in Palo Alto and need to find a decent pho restaurant, Pho Ha Noi is probably the best option. read more

I enjoy the pho at Pho Hanoi at their other locations. I recently went to the Palo Alto location and it's very nice inside. There's a lot of seating but it gets very crowded there. I wanted to try something different so I ordered the bun cha Hanoi. I've had it at various other restaurants around the Bay Area but Pho Hanoi's version just falls flat. The dipping broth is fine as well as the fresh vegetables and rice vermicelli noodles. However, I thought the pork was very chewy and not so good. They were also missing the ground pork patties which normally comes with the dish. There wasn't a lot of carrots and daikon in the bowl also. The strawberry smoothie was good and I would get it again. Next time, I would just stick to the pho and not get the bun cha Hanoi. read more
