My family had an amazing dinner here! The menu has a decent number of vegan options, I had the pho chay which was really delicious. The broth was very nicely flavored and there was plenty of tofu and veggies. My one minor complaint would be that some of the veggies were a little bit too chunky, not bite sized. My dad and sister both got meat based pho which they thought was really good and my mom enjoyed the spring rolls. I also tried some of my mom's kumquat sugarcane juice which was really nice. The location is very convenient, an easy walk from the mountain view caltrain station. The staff were super nice and the inside was quite clean.
This is an authentic, no frills Vietnamese spot located in the Castro Street area of downtown Mountain View. The menu has a LOT of options of appetizers, pho, rice plates, vermicelli bowls, banh mihs, drinks, and desserts. The food is really good. We had the beef pho and the grilled pork chop rice plate (like $15-17ish) and they were flavorful and excellent. The service is super swift.
This place is right in downtown Mountain View. I got the beef rib pho. Overall I thought it was decent, but my partner wasn't very impressed, particularly with the broth. I don't think it was bad, but I also wasn't blown away.
This place is awesome, always hits the spot. Today unfortunately they messed up my order, I paid extra to get egg noodle and I got rice noodle. I will still give them 5 star review, because once again this place rocks. We usually get the #18. Chin Nam #21. Pho Ga #23. Pho Thap Cam Do Bien. If they are not super busy I'll do mine half rice noodle and half egg noddle. Once again it's an extra charge but it's so worth it. Today we also got the shaking beef plate and the pork and egg roll combo plate. Their spring rolls are all bomb and their egg rolls are super tasty too. This review is just so ownership/management see that they had a hiccup but overall this place is super chill, family owned and super tasty. Cozy feeling even when they are jammed packed.
After a business event in Mountain View, I was strolling around Castro Street looking for dinner when I came upon Pho To Chau999. The restaurant wasn't packed. There was no line (compared to Chinese restaurants on Castro Street). Looking at the menu, I was blown away by the variety of pho noodle combinations. Oxtail? Seafood including calamari? Sounded so yummy. I sat down and was given the menu quickly. The pho noodle bowl I ordered was seafood with meatballs. I ordered the standard size rather than the large bowl. It was plenty for me! The soup base was clear. I ordered the egg noodles rather than standard pho rice noodles. Very tasty! I couldn't finish the bowl so I took away a portion of it. The décor was spare with photos of Vietnam scenes. For a meal of pho, the price is probably average for Mountain View. It is less than the cost of a bowl of ramen or fancy hotpot. I enjoyed the pho and will return to try other dishes. The veggies were fresh!
I would always come here when I was local to the area. I was in the area visiting and went here again. The space is large with lots of tables. We were a table of 8. We got seated and ordered water/our food. Majority of us got pho but two got rice plates. The food was good and pho broth is a solid meal. In terms of service, our food was served about 15 minutes later. We were missing someone's order and tried to give the benefit of the doubt so we waited longer. We waited another 10 minutes but then nothing so we tried to get the attention of the servers. They were busy so we weren't able to flag them down until 5-10 minutes. We told them we were missing a bowl of pho and they made it within 5-10 minutes. Unfortunately by the time we flagged them down and got the food, most of the table was done eating. Overall, the food was good but service was a little slow.
I went for the pho dac biet, which comes with rice noodles, rare steak, flank, fatty brisket, tripe, and tendon. The soup was good and flavorful, with a comforting broth, although the portion did not include a lot of meat compared to other Vietnamese restaurants. The customer service was decent. The establishment was clean, which made the dining experience pleasant. Street parking only, but there is a parking garage nearby, which helps if you are not able to find a spot immediately.

It does the job if you're in the area though. The service was good. They brought everything out relatively quickly. Been getting colder in the bay so was hoping to try some local pho. Honestly, not the best pho I've had. The soup broth is quite heavy, dark, and just was not fragrant and delicious to me. They give you a decent portion of meat, tripe, etc. depending on the pho you select. Not too pricey, but next time would prefer a place in SJ. No wait time, seated immediately. Orders were taken quickly and all our food came out fast and at the same time. Vibes were pretty standard. Pretty much what I would expect from a pho restaurant in terms of seating, condiments, utensils, etc. was convenient and close since it's in downtown Mountain View. Probably won't return.
this pho place is located in castro next to a bunch of different restaurants. parking is pretty easy, as there are multiple parking lots. however, during busy times, the lots might get full. what we got: tofu banh mi (10/10 yums): very well seasoned and a great option for vegetarians. the bread was crispy, yet still soft. #04 pho tai chin (9/10 yums): good broth and size. we got the regular size and it was already a good portion. the broth isn't the most full bodied pho broth i've had, but still really good thai iced tea (s) (10/10 yums): classic thai iced tea! no random grounds on the bottom which was good. also wasn't too sweet! #56 com ga trung (10/10 yums): i really liked the chicken! it was not dry at all and was seasoned well. #21 pho ga (10/10 yums): great chicken pho. I personally liked how the chicken was skinless and was the breast.

It was pretty empty so it was cool for us since that means faster service! Here is what I got: 1. Grilled Pork Rice plate (10/10) it was delicious! I opted to add an egg and it comes with an egg roll as well. It's so delicious as the pork is marinated to perfection and grilled so well. Not dry at all! Totally recommend. 2. Spring rolls (10/10) were so good! First time I had grilled pork in them so not sure if many will like this as it had a sweet taste to them but they were good! My daughter loved them! Only thing is that they lacked on shrimp but no biggie! 3. Beef Pho (8/10) super good flavor! Not skimping with the meat just did not like how it didn't come out as hot as I would like! Other than that it was good! 4. Chicken pho (9/10) my daughter is very picky with her Pho but she enjoyed it. She said it was delicious and she would come back. Over all, it was great! Pretty simple decor so don't expect a fancy dinner or something but do expect good food! Recommend checking out if your ever in the area
My friends came here Sunday lunch (11:45am) and mid-way of our lunch we had a lot of foot traffic coming in and going out, so finding a table should be a challenge. The parking is always the difficult part in this area. I ordered a #4 regular, which is Pho with steak and some meats I can never remember. I've been seeing pho prices (for regular sized bowl) inching to $18-$20 per bowl these days and Pho To Chau999's price-to-portion size is a good deal. Their pho broth is rich and flavorful. They gave a good amount of meat and noodles. Service was wonderful; they checked us on our group periodically and fill out water cups. I'll definitely be back to try their BBH!

Great food with great service. Came here on a weekday after work and it wasn't too busy. Was able to be seated immediately and was greeted upon entering. Ordered the #1 which I've never tried before and it was so flavorful and delicious. Can never go wrong with pho especially the broth. Stopped by for a casual meal and thought it was a decent spot overall. I ordered the cơm tấm, and the grilled pork was pretty flavorful and tender. Others ordered pho and banh mi, and thought the rest of the meal didn't stand out quite as much. One thing that confused me was that when I asked about the chả giò, they told me it might contain peanuts. It was odd that they couldn't give me a straight answer, and I've never really heard of chả giò having peanuts. So flavorful! Went for a group of six on a Sunday evening around 5p. They were busy, but since they have lots of seating, they were luckily able to seat us with no wait. I got a large combination pho. The broth was rich and there were plenty of noodles and meat. The large is only $1 more than the regular. I thought it was a great deal, felt like I was getting two meals for the price of one. read more
This is my parents' favorite pho shop in the Bay Area, so we drive to Mountain View just for this. I would say the broth is flavorful and plentiful, but the fillings (noodles and protein) could be a bit more to balance out the soup. The last time we came here to dine in, I ordered a non-soup dish (the grilled pork with rice) and didn't get silverware to go with it, and the person waiting on us was kind of just dropping off food and going along their way. Plenty of tables for small and large groups indoors, and so a good place to drop by and get hot soup then go. Overall solid food that I usually get To Go and enjoy at home. read more

On a Saturday noon, I was trying to decide if I wanted malatang or pho. However this place didn't have a line so I stepped inside and was immediately seated at one of the table. It was fairly crowded with couples and family, but the workers were attentive and they brought out orders from the kitchen quickly. I'm a sucker for bun bo hue and after having my blood drawn earlier in the day, I needed something filling. I ordered the 21a (bun bo hue) regular size since I didn't want to carry leftover and a Vietnamese coffee because I needed my caeffine for the day. Bun bo hue (4/5): It's pretty good, lighter on the pungent seafood taste which is suited more for American taste therefore my taste too. Decent portion of meat to noodle ratio and the regular size is just the right amount. Flavorful and aromatic with a slight kick from the spice. Vietamese coffee: (3/5) It's not bad and kept well for the next day. I had the ice melted and even then it was strong enough that I felt the kick from the caeffine for the rest of the day. It's a nice pick me up. Service as mentioned earlier, amazing. Had the server come by to check how I was doing and had my water refilled several times. A solid spot of you're in the area and want a quick lunch/something to hit your craving. read more

Ordered their Bun Rieu which is a tomato based broth, filled with seafood and crab paste. The flavors are great and a different theme from the typical pho. Service is basic as well as ambiance, but what you're paying for is the food. Definitely recommend trying! read more

We've been here a couple times over the past few years and I'd say it's a pretty good pho spot. ~The Experience~ Came here as a group of 2 on a Saturday for dinner and we were seated with no wait. Service was very fast and efficient; staff are pretty friendly too! ~The Food~ #9 Rice Noodle Soup with Rare Steak and Beef Meatballs: Good broth, generous portions. The broth was pretty flavorful and very warm. They were also pretty generous with the portions of the meat added in this bowl. I really liked their tender rare steak. I wouldn't say that I'm an expert judge of pho, but I always enjoy their pho and Pho To Chau999 is a pretty reliable choice! Pricing is also pretty decent especially considering the Catsro St location. read more
A great casual Vietnamese spot to eat . I was waiting for a friend , server kept checking in either me every 5 minutes which was nice . Lol My friend ordered the seafood pho. Never heard of this and decided to try it out . Seafood Pho it took awhile to come out as mine came out first . They were super nice to gave me another bowl of hot pho . Portion size were huge . Their large could feed 2 people ... Pho broth was decent and heartwarming . Their meat to noodle ratio 2:3 . The burst of the beefy meatballs made me happy . Egg rolls filling had shrimp and pork ? Amazing variety of noodle soups and rice plates to pick from aside from the typical pho! Also super reasonably priced, definitely one of the spots with the best prices in the Bay. You can get two huge spring rolls for $8, and they give a generous amount of peanut sauce. The BBH is rich and Bun Rieu is tomatoy and the perfect amount of tangy. Service is super friendly and efficient. Ambiance is casual with lots of spacious seating. read more
It's fine. We had the pho special and the bun with bbq pork and egg roll. Portions are large. The pho broth was not as tasty as it should be. And the bun has bbq pork that was marinated. I prefer the traditional Vietnamese bbq pork. Service was fast tho and the vibe is pretty basic at this off-Castro place. I probably won't be back as there are better places in Sunnyvale and Cupertino. read more
I was slightly sick and wanted something soupy for dinner, so we looked on the map and chose this place partially out of curiosity why it's named 999. This place is located in downtown Mountain View right next to Mifen101. I must have walked past it many many times yet have never tried it til now. They have a huge menu with many noodle soups with varying toppings and soup broth. The waiters were attentive and refilled our water quite frequently. We got the grilled chicken spring roll as an appetizer and then two large noodles soups - chicken broth with chicken for me and spicy sweet & sour broth with seafood for him. The chicken broth was really what I needed - something warm and light, not too heavy or oily but healthy. While the spicy sweet & sour was an interesting flavor and had many pieces of shrimp and salmon mixed in with vegetables. Both noodle soups were indeed large and came with a lot of noodles, and we both packed nearly full containers of leftovers to go. read more
We found this place looking for a pho place that closed a but later on a Sunday evening. Very friendly service, and our food came out promptly. We ordered an iced Vietnamese coffee, #14 and #15, as well as a BBQ pork banh mi. Everything was very satisfying and tasty. The noise kevel was a bit high, but everyone was enjoying themselves. When you can't think of anything else to eat, but the perfect banh mi sandwich, Pho To Chau999 will not disappoint. And I learned somewhere that as long as there are numbers in the Vietnamese restaurant's name, it's legit. I always get their BBQ Chicken Sandwich with Fried Egg. So yummy and it is huge! Lots of beefy flavor Broth is FLAVORFUL. But a tad greasy. In terms of meat, filet mignon better than beef rib better than rare steak. Beef rib ratio of tendon/ligament to meat was too high for my taste - would have liked a meatier rib. Noodles and other toppings are fairly vanilla and price is reasonable. read more
Decent spot for Pho and vermicelli dishes. Good value for the amount given. Service is quick though not very engaging/energetic. A little disappointing is that their Soda Chanh is premixed in a boba type container. I am accustomed to the authentic version where you can add your own soda. read more

Always busy with customers and takeout orders, but you don't need to wait at all :) FOOD: 1A Oxtail Pho (8/10) - Delicious broth without too much MSG, loads of noodles and meat, and tender oxtail. I think the oxtail could be cooked slightly more before putting it into the broth, but overall delicious Fried Eggrolls (9/10) - Some of the best fried vietnamese eggrolls out there! Definitely get it as it goes along great with the pho! read more
