We gave this place a try based on reviews. Yelpers failed us . Food was a disappointment. The bbq pork and eggroll on vermicelli noodles was totally tastesless. The pork was bits and pieces of cold pork over cold noodles. The beef with eggroll was just as bad . The beef was tough and no taste. I've had these dishes at other places and always enyoyed them. So a couple of friends and I are new here in Dallas and we wanted to try some pho, so we looked up a place close to us and it happened to be this place. We ordered soup and a beef rice plate. The meat was tough and overcooked and the broth was salty, so we decided to let the owner know what we thought. And this is coming from a group people who regularly eat pho from around the world. We politely told the lady what we thought and she proceeded to tell us that the food was actually good and we were wrong. She went on and on telling us about the amount of money they already made that morning and how their amazing food brings back customers. I told her that I myself did not like the food and she told me that there was something wrong with my tastes. Not only that, she brought in other customers to argue on her behalf with us. I barely touched my food because it was so bad, but she still made me pay for the whole thing. I usually never make a complaint unless it is really bad, which happens to be one of those times. Bottom line: the food is NOT authentic Vietnamese pho and the customer service makes the experience a whole lot worse. read more

Always my go to place for Vietnamese. The service is always great and the food comes out quick and hot. Bahn Mi is my go to and the vermicelli is my number 2 with egg rolls or spring rolls as an appetizer. Most Vietnamese places I've gone to are "close to home" being quick in and out service, take the food places not checking up on you. This is by FAR one of my favorite pho resturants in DFW! Also, unlike most other pho restaurants, Pho Truong's non-pho menu items are just as tasty as their pho! The owners are very nice and friendly as well. They really make you feel like you are having lunch or dinner with family everytime you go. read more

The egg roll is so freaking good! You must try it when come here! The fish sauce is tasty and the meat is authentic. The pickle carrot and daikon is really good, not too sweet or sour. The avocado smoothie is yummy with good tapiocas. Definitely come back for sure!!! read more

I like pho, I was in the neighborhood and decided to try this place. Very pleasant, clean space that did not seem crowded (like other pho places I've been). I arrived right at noon; there were several tables available. Twenty minutes later, the place was full. I saw that there was no fish sauce on the tables. The service was efficient. I ordered the #1 (combination) pho (and some fish sauce, just in case). The first thing I noticed is that they seemed a bit stingy with the 'fixins'; two thin slices of jalapeno, maybe a half cup of bean sprouts, one stem of basil and no culantro, cilantro or mint. It occurs to me now that I should have taken a picture...sorry. The broth, the soul of this dish, was merely OK; I did add some fish sauce and a little Sriracha. The noodles and the 'combo' items in the broth were fine. I was by myself and didn't really see any of the other menu items. read more

I was so excited to see that it includes tripe and tendon! And meatballs! Food came out pretty quickly and the broth was steaming hot. The broth had great notes of star anise and cinnamon. The Pho was great and starts at about 6.75 for a small bowl, which is enough for a 150 pound person. I had a lychee boba smoothie for about 3.75 and it was great. it was too sweet for me, which almost never happens anywhere. The service was efficient and hospitable. The place looks spotless and smells clean. It would be nice if they stayed open later than 9 Sunday through Thurs., but I say that about every other restaurant that closes at 9. I will just have to make it a point to show up earlier in the day. They do stay open till 10 Friday and Saturday. *******UPDATE***** I received a msg. from Long today who works at PhoTruong. For those who don't know , the pork spring rolls have crab meat mixed in which makes them appear pink. That explains why they did not look done to me. Long also assured me that they were indeed fried at 350 degrees for 7 minutes which would make them totally safe. Sorry about that guys! My mistake! I promise if anything like this ever happens again, I will not hesitate to ask you about it on the spot.I would have just called, but it was already too late at night for me to do so.Thanks again for so promptly addressing my concern. :D read more

Great Pho tons of flavor at a great price. The customer service went above and beyond, they were constantly filing our waters. I think this place deserves five stars but there was two main things that I disliked. first, it was humid in the restaurant, second, I really dislike when the servers bring the check early. Excellent food and service - a combination you've got to love! The servings were huge - two people could easily share any of the curry, rice or vermicelli dishes. The spring roll was fresh and large, stuffed with vegetables and shrimp. Special mention for the egg rolls (which have a pork stuffing) - clearly special! For entree, I had the vermicelli with pork, egg roll and fresh veggies, garnished with peanuts and cilantro, served with a hot and sweet sauce - awesome! My friend had the chicken and sweet potato curry which was served with a large dinner roll. The restaurant itself has very basic seating, but maintained extremely well - gleaming tables and floors. My MI HU TIEU PORK came out in a pink colored soup, first time ive ever seen that in my 31yrs of being a vietnamese fatty. Noodles severely undercooked. I spent more time trying to declump them than eating it. Only ate 1/3 of it. My gf got the PHO DAC BIET and only ate half of it. So the 4 star yelp rating avg doesnt surprise me. The combination pho was one of the best bowls I have ever had. I remember the vegan restraunt that was there before them and this restaurant looks like a completely new place. Saw the reviews on yelp and had to try. Went just as lunch rush was dying down a couple weeks ago about 1pm. Hands down the best Pho and pork spring rolls I've ever had. Everything looked and tasted so fresh. As others have reviewed the broth was amazing. Tiny hole in the wall spot but the place was very clean and nice atmosphere.
