I've driven past this place on numerous occasions. I decided to stop by for lunch. I had the pho dac biet (combination meat). Service and cleanliness was good. Pho tasted good until I realized my neck and back getting stiff. My guess is that the broth was heavily flavored with MSG. I get this reaction when I frequent Asian restaurants. I came here not knowing what to expect but I just went in to eat and this place was not good at all. I ordered a chicken fried rice and it was done and at my table in 3 minutes which means it was microwaved because of how much steam was coming off the food. The food tasted very bland and old. Great Bun Bo Hue, offset by the absolutely awful tasting stir fried rice noodles with vegetables. Got the combo for $10.95 yet there was exactly 2 pieces of shrimp in it, and the pork/beef in it tastes unfresh and chews like old shoes. The portion size is also small which is good in this case because it tasted so disgusting, the noodles were drenched in overly sweet sauce and lacked any kind of flavor depth. First time here. Nice place. Good decor. I usually judge a place by a particular dish if its my first time. I ordered spring rolls, the grilled pork and rice. The grilled pork was grilled but it is also fried. This tells me it was grilled awhile ago then fried to quickly reheat to be served. My first plate was obviously over fried. This place is close to work. I normally go to Crimson Pho but I wanted see what else was out there. I got the meatball Pho, loved it! The broth was rich full of flavor. Order typical large pho. The mark of a good bowl of pho starts with its clear broth. Broth was muddy not clear. Will not return.

Due to all the good bun bo hue reviews, we drove all the way south to try it. Not as good as some of the other places in DFW area.

How this place has high reviews is beyond me. I have to think people who enjoy it have never eaten at a pho restaurant aside from this one. The broth was extremely bland and oily, and the spring rolls tasted like they were a day old. There are much better options in Richardson and Garland.
