Some friends wanted to try Pho Sen in Richardson for the Beli grind. I've been to the Richardson Chinatown plaza so many times but have never tried this place before. I got the eye of round steak with tendon and tripe. I also shared a spring roll appetizer. The spring roll is pretty solid. It's good but nothing will beat homemade spring rolls. It filled me up but I have the food capacity of a pipsqueak, so I can see people with a larger appetite going for an appetizer or grabbing dessert after. When we arrived, we didn't have to wait and were seated right away. There are several options for pho. I ordered the one that came in a stone pot. It kept my pho hot the entire time I ate it. If you like your pho to cool down a bit, there are items on the menu where the pho comes in the regular bowls. First off, the broth was delicious. I loved how the meat just fell off the oxtail bone. The steak strips come raw so you can cook to your own liking. The noodles come separate as well so you can eat and cook them to your liking. I'm lazy, so I dump everything in. I recommend taking the oxtail out on a plate so you can take the meat off and then place them back in the broth to keep it warm. read more

Stopped by on a Friday night and it wasn't busy. We got beef rib ox tail pho and thought it was phenomenal. It reminded us of the Pho we got in Hanoi. The bun rieu cua dong has really authentic rieu (i made this at home too and i can tell they didnt try to fool me with pork mix or I hope not lol). My favorite item is the Shrimp Egg Rolls which is off menu, but available for ordering from the menu on the black board near the cash register. It's super crispy and full of flavor. One of the most extraordinary pho I've been to. Iove the idea that the ox tail pho comes in a sizzling hot Korean stone bowl. The boiling broth retain its heat inside this stone bowl so you will always have a good pho through out your meal. Not cold after 5 minutes like other pho restaurants. You have to try the ox tail pho that's their specialty. The broth was pretty flavorful to me but my friends wasn't too crazy about it. I tried many pho broth and restaurants and it's one of the best one so far. The appetizers like the shrimp spring roll and egg rolls aren't that great and could use some improvement.
