Good heavens! They have real taro in their taro smoothies! Not that purple powder that most boba places use. You heard me people. It is REAL. It's the most amazing and magical drink ever! There boba pearls are also chewy and mildly sweet which is absolutely perfect. 5 out of 5 for taro smoothies! I will return solely for this greatness. However, the pho isn't spectacular, but they do offer vegan pho. The noodles were just a bit too overcooked and mushy. I also didn't think their coffee was on par with other pho places either. Pretty decent pho. I thought my broth was pretty tasty, but my business partner said his was bland and felt like they just put beef powder seasoning in boiling water. The service here is great but the food is ok. They have a lot of menu items to choose from. The price is a bit high compare to other Vietnamese pho places. The place looks really gloomy and surprisingly empty on a Sunday evening. The staff was nice and it didn't take too long to order food. Just when I thought this could be a regular place to have food as it was close to where I live, the food came. I had Pho, which should be good since the place is named "Pho Truong". However, I was extremely disappointed. My bowl of Pho, although clear, tastes like a totally different kind of soup. It is not Pho. I had lived in Vietnam my whole life so I know what good Pho is like. The broth was terrible and felt like a lot of MSGs in there. It was artificially sweet and not authentic. Since my main purpose of going to a restaurant is to have good food, I guess I will not come back here again in the future. P/S: The only thing I disliked here was the food. Pho is one of my passions. My GF picked this one out. It was ultra clean inside. The pho itself was kinda bland. I normally have to special combo at every pho restaurant. I live in the same area as Pho Truong and love pho so I decided to check it out. First impressions were great, a nice clean place and friendly staff to greet you. The prices seem to be comparable to the other pho places in the area. They do have a nice selection of pho, rice, vermicelli, and egg noodle dishes. The pho was delicious, a little bit sweeter than some of the others I have had but very tasty. I suppose the only negative thing I could say is that I hate eating pho with plastic chopsticks, I find them too slippery. But overall wonderful! My brother and I returned with our family. Among our family we had chicken and steamed rice, pho with meatballs, pho with 2 cuts of beef, and vermicelli. Its hard to compare a restaurant to a home cooked meal, especially when you have a Vietnamese mother in law with great culinary skills. This place is something else though, I dont know how they do it but every dish was nothing less than spectacular again. My brother also ordered an awesome fruit smoothie. After filling my brother's glass there was some left over which they split in to two smaller cups for the kids at no extra cost. Great place, great food, great service. read more

The 'large' size is pretty filling--I think with extra large I'd have lunch /and/ dinner. There's plenty of meat, and the amount of bean sprouts that come with it are the perfect amount. This place was very good and had a lot to offer. As soon as you walk in, your seated and begin with salad bar. The salad bar has 3 different types of salad, croutons, tomatoes, and of course ranch. You also get to choose from a couple types of cheeses to eat with meats. Not to mention the different soups. All of this is very good and you can tell that they keep all of it CLEAN. The service is absolutely amazing and the staff is very friendly. You are then served a selection of meats, these meats include: chicken legs, bacon wrapped chicken breast, garlic beef, spicy beef, Italian sausage, and my absolute favorite, the house special(very tender and juicy steak). So here's my experience at pho Truong..... Walking in I was happily greeting my the staff. I had ordered the com bo luc lac and egg-rolls. When my generous portion of rice plate came out, I was very happy with the flavor and freshness. I would also like to mention that the egg-roll were surprisingly very tasty and a larger size then anywhere else. Sinus infections suck. Head hurts, throat hurts, fever. Antibiotics kicking in but I needed soup. My husband had come here from Toyota of Richardson once when he was getting our car serviced so he drove me here to experience it. And it is awesome. The healing steam. The amazing noodles. The smoothie with tapioca bubbles. I would use a broader spectrum of adjective but I am sick. So let's just say Pho is awesome. And the people here are quick professional and nice. I used to go to this place frequently when they first opened. They used to play Sade nonstop. Lol! I went yesterday and the quality of the food has really gone downhill. I had pho and the broth was really bland and the meat in it was super fatty. They also didn't give very many noodles for a large bowl. Great service...seat yourself and the food is big yummy. Don't expect any glitz and glamor however, the pho is the best I have found anywhere. Very friendly staff and if you want more broth and less noodles, or the other way around, all you have to do it tell your waiter. This is a restaurant which I've gone back to fairly regularly since I 1st tried it, probably a few months ago. I can't speak to their rice or vermicelli dishes or sandwiches, but I have consistently found the pho here to be very enjoyable. The appetizers which I've tried have also been very good. Recently a chicken curry pho has been added as a new menu item, and it is simply wonderful. I went here two times based on the great reviews on yelp because I want to give this restaurant a second chance before judging it so hard. The first time I ordered the combination fried rice. Overall it was decent, wasn't worth the price I paid for though.I can probably make it at home since it's just basically soy sauce on rice.on top of that, I wouldn't even want to eat it after making it because I'm sure it's very unhealthy. Second time, I ordered the combination beef pho. You would think a restaurant that named after the food would try and make that food tastes good. NOPE, the broth tastes like water+ chicken bones "not beef", simmered for 15 minutes and then additional seasoning cubes were added to the broth. I can still remember the MSG taste. Yuck. And don't even get me started on the meat. It looked like they just scraped off leftover pieces of meat on the chopping board and threw it in my bowl. So disappointed! Haven't been here in forever (and used to like it) but tried it again today because I was in the area and received the worst customer service ever from the owner/manager I guess. I got their traditional spring roll, egg roll and small mixed chicken pho. Spring roll was just ok, has a lot of lettuce in it if you like it like that but I don't. Egg roll rice wrapper that they fry tasted burnt especially on the ends. Ended up sending it back and the owner came out and spent 10 minutes telling me why it wasn't burnt (but people have complained about it before) and that's just the way the rice wrapper cooks (from what I could understand). She tried to act like other places undercook it and then the pork can make you sick (which I have never experienced). Anyway as I went to pay she charged me for the egg rolls I took two bites out of and sent back and told me it's not their fault that's the way they are cooked. WHAT KIND OF CUSTOMER SERVICE is that. My bill was $18 with a small pho, spring roll and egg roll! It's overpriced compared to other authentic pho restaurants that are even better than this place and she charged me for an item I didn't even like nor eat! I did tell her I won't be back because I won't but warning to others she will charge you for items you don't like so be careful what you order, ugh!!! read more

The pho here definitely hits home for me! The broth is flavorful and they give you a good size portion. I normally gravitate towards the rice plate but this time my husband decided to give it a try. Some places give a larger ratio of rice to meat but here they give you a good chunk of meat for what you pay for! The fried egg on top completed the dish. He ate his whole meal and some of mine. Everything was very tasty and fresh.. Next time I am in town with my husband we will be stopping by to try what else they have to offer! read more
