I get embarrassed eating with my mom when we go out to eat at Vietnamese restaurants. If you've read my reviews, and you think I'm harsh... think twice... This is review is based on a true Vietnamese woman. My mom is the true critic when it comes to Vietnamese food. She's mean. Rude AF. She wouldn't stop saying in Vietnamese how bad the service was. I mean we were one of 3 customers at 6:30pm on a Saturday night. We ordered 2 small Pho Dac Biet. The first thing that ALWAYS should be put on the table is the plate of bean sprouts, basil, jalapenos, and lime. But we didn't receive it until after our food came out AFTER she asked the girl to bring it. And when the plate is brought, she's like wtf. Why are there tons of bean sprouts but barely any basil. So she then had to flag the girl for basil. When the girl brings the basil my mom says out loud in English so the girl could understand..."We should've gone to the Barker Cypress location". OUCH. It gets worse. My mom gets the soup spoon, sips the soup and is immediately upset. The soup was not hot and is was warm. Then she digs and swirls around for meat and there's barely any. If you've ever had really good pho. I mean REALLY GOOD. Then a true pho dish doesn't need hoisin sauce and sriracha in it. This woman doused her soup with her sauces. I was cringing inside because when she does that, you know she hates it. She asked me how many meatballs I got and I told her 1 that was cut in half. She complained that she only got a half. THEEEEEENNNN she complains that the girls working did nothing but talk to themselves. When it came time to pay she left ONE stinkin dollar. I repeat. ONE DOLLAR. OUCH. She went to the counter to pay. Came back to tell me that the girl stared at the receipt to see if there was tip. BTW. She didn't tip in credit card. Left it blank. #savage She complains and says "I shouldn't have tipped at all" Then she goes to tell me that we have garlic bread at home if I'm still hungry. Came here for dinner time. Staff was ok and restaurant was just ok. Typical pho place, nothing aesthetically special. The pho with sliced beef and beef balls was actually very hearty and tasted great without added MSG. The only problem I had was there wasn't enough broth to balance out the amount of noodles but the staff didn't have a problem bringing out some extra broth for us to pour into our bowls. The beef spring rolls was ok and the peanut sauce had a purée of peanuts in it instead for just the normal sprinkling on top. Reminds me of a bowl of pho in Chinatown taste wise. They are OKAY. this location is perfect because I can drive within 5 minutes of wanting noodles. Their music was somewhat bothering me. I understand that it is a Vietnamese restaurant but it would be nice to have classical music. I know sometimes it bother customers to have to hear a song that is not in English. When bringing out the vegetables plate , they lack on their servings. If it's 2 people or more, please add more. Some people love eating mints and need more limes. The cashier in the front always forget to give people debit card back. And it's not the first time she has slipped before. I come here often just to get a quick lunch, so I would still come either way despite of how they lack customer service. I ask for 2 kids water, 2 small kids bowl, & my meat to be put on top so it won't over cook. When they brought my food , the kids water was normal water cups, no bowls, and my meat was over cooked. Me and my bf go here often for the pho as their chili oil is amazing and we haven't been able to find any thing like it anywhere else. However, the sign on the door says they're open till 9. One night we walked in at 8:45pm and sat down in a booth. The waitress comes over and says that she will not serve us because they are closed. My boyfriend tells her that the sign says they are open till 9 and she replies with "the kitchen is already closed and shut down". If you have a sign that says you're open till 9, you need to stay open till 9 and serve food right up to the last second. My hubby and I just had lunch at Pho Us. We had Pho Dat Biet and Bun w/ grilled pork + egg rolls. Our waitress, Han, recommended the mocha milk tea and white tapioca. The food and drink were good w/ nice portion size. We were also pleased that the restaurant looked clean and organized. The service started out strong, but quickly faded away once we got our food. In other words "doesn't feel authentic". I live right by this pho restaurant(walking distance) but I drive further to the Pho Saigon on 529. The restaurant is still fairly new so it is clean and nice. The food..is good! But I personally like the pho Saigon on 529 better. The smoothies here are really good though. I never had a problem with the service. I'm giving 3 stars because if my friends asked me where I would recommend for good pho, this place wouldn't be the first on my list. The place is under new management. It's my second time here and I'm not disappointed. A little annoyed that it took over 20 minutes for my food to come out but the quality and taste of that made up for it. Servers were very friendly and made sure that our meal was exactly what we wantef. Excellent customer service, I give them that. I give them 4.5 stars but rounded down because of the wait. It's okay. I've been twice. First time - was very clean, they were very nice and food was average. I wasn't fond of the Vietnamese egg rolls, but the Com Bo Luc Lac was comforting, almost homemade - not typical restaurant quality. The next time I went, they were just finishing the lunch rush and almost all the tables were still dirty. The entire time we were there, they didn't bus or clean even one table. That was a huge turnoff. Food was the same but we also ordered Chicken Pho. It was okay, but don't expect chicken. It was turkey. I find this fairly common at many Vietnamese restaurants. Being that I am Vietnamese, I know what viet food is supposed to taste like. My friend tried the pho which was ok and I had the com bo luc lac. I did not like the com bo luc lac at all. The beef was not cooked right and the rice was very bland and had no flavor but it was their so called "fried rice". I was disappointed since this is close to my house, but I will go elsewhere. This place is ok. I took my daughter took get some pho. While we were waiting we ordered tapioca smoothie. It took forever for them to make the drink. The food was ready way before drink. Didn't make sense they had like two other customers. Anyway we got our drinks like 20 mins later. Told my wife we would ever go back. This place has ok food but the service is so bad that I cannot come back here again. When I first arrived with my party of 3 the person sat us down and gave us all a menu. We sat down she asked us what we wanted to drink and after getting our drink order she proceeds to take our menus away without asking us for our food order. After that she came back and asked if we were ready and I said no we don't have any menus. She goes okay and brings back only one menu for all of us to look at....on top of that I never once got a refill or even got asked for one to begin with and I had to get up and get my own drink from the cashier lady who's job isn't serving me food and drinks overall this experience is making me not come back I prefer good food and expect good service. Very friendly staff!! Our normal place closes on Tuesday so we decided to give Pho Us a try. Very pleasantly surprised. The pho with chicken was excellent - just enough rice noodles and I really like that the broth didn't have cloves in it. I had the small soup which was perfect. My husband had the vermicelli noodles with lemon grass beef and thought it was great but needed more fish sauce than provided (we did takeout). Since my last visit, the taste of the broth has vastly improved. The large bowl of pho is still a great value at $ 7.99. My complaint is that they require a minimum $ 10.00 purchase to use a credit card. I came up short so I ordered a combination sandwich to go for $3.99. Later in the day I decided to eat the sandwich whereupon I discovered they gave me BBQ pork. C'mon guys you only have two kinds of sandwiches on the menu. You have a 50-50 chance of getting it right but didn't. Actually it wasn't bad tasting but it just wasn't what I wanted. My husband and I adore Pho Us. It is very inviting and relaxing. The place is always kept clean. Food does take some time to appear but we are not bothered by that. My first visit was today at lunch time. What a nice surprise to find a "noodle house" not far from where I live. I was greeted as I walked in the door. I ordered pho ga and spring rolls to go.
