The food here was a little bit of a mixed bag. I ordered a thai tea, bun rieu, pho, and bun tit nong chia gio. I started with the nun tit noung since it had an egg roll and I wanted it to stay crispy. The egg roll and bun tit nong was really solid, I enjoyed it a lot. But then I tasted the bun rieu... that was not very good. It was salty, and the meat ball was kind of this solid piece that looked like it was chopped from a sausage like block and was just not appetizing. After I put it together it was edible, but not great. Then I had the pho, the pho was ok. It was ok, not the best but I'd order it again if I was in the area. I did an order from DoorDash, and the food came quickly. Overall, it was just OK. I started out with the ban xeo crepe..... The fillings were very good, I loved the shrimp, their shrimp were tender. It also came with lots of veggies, as well as lettuce and mint to fill it up with. It also had the nuoc Cham, which I absolutely love The crêpe itself was only so so. It was crisp to the point of being hard, and it was pretty oily. I picked it up and I could just see the oil on my fingers afterwards. It took away from the meal. Pho Viet 2 is always a solid choice for Vietnamese food and worth the drive. When I don't get the Combination Pho, I like the vermicelli rice noodles with grilled pork (with or without shrimp, skip the egg roll), or the rice plates like the pork chop. The shrimp spring rolls are OK, as is the fresh young coconut juice. Haven't tried much of their Chinese food menu other than wonton egg noodle soup once. Next time I might go for the Korean short ribs with rice and one of those pandan coconut milk drinks. We checked out Pho Viet 2 for dinner last night for the first time. They are located on West El Camino Ave in Northgate. The inside was huge with plenty of seating inside - it was clean and spacious as well. We did a to-go order of Rare Flank, Beef Balls and Fried Tofu Pho, Grilled Chicken Over Vermicelli Noodles, House Chow Fun and Potstickers. Everything was really good, especially the Pho! It really hit the spot and the broth was savory and flavorful. I got a small size and it was still massive and they loaded me up with tons of toppings! I remember coming to this one about a year ago, so we decided to give it another go. When we showed up, it was pretty packed, but they still have plenty of seating to get us in. We ordered the pork eggrolls for our appetizer. For my entrée, I went with a large steak pho noodle bowl. The food came out fast and both dishes were really good. Not even a smile I wanted extra jalapeños on my Bahn mi so I stopped one of the ladies and I asked if I could have extra jalapeños. She said yes without even looking at me. My family and I stopped by pho viet 2 in Sacramento during a road trip down from the Pacific Northwest. The area had a bunch of Vietnamese restaurants and shops, so it felt like a solid place to grab our first lunch of the day. We went inside and got seated pretty quickly. The menu offered small and large bowls, but we went with the regular size -- which ended up being much larger than expected. It did take a while for someone to come over and take our order. One thing that threw us off a bit: we're from SoCal and usually speak Vietnamese when ordering at Vietnamese restaurants. My parents tried to order in Vietnamese, but the server told them she doesn't speak it, even though she looked Vietnamese. Not a big deal, just unexpected. Once the food came out, the pho was decent. It didn't taste heavy on MSG, but it was a bit lacking in flavor -- definitely noticeable compared to the typical SoCal pho we're used to. Still, it hit the spot after hours on the road. I also ordered a Vietnamese coffee to go. It was on the sweeter side, stronger than I prefer, but still okay. Overall, the place wasn't bad. It did its job, portions were big, and service was fine.
