This place made me seriously sick. After eating here, I had food poisoning that kept me bedridden for three days. That alone should be enough reason to avoid it. The short ribs were undercooked and the portion was a joke, I was given three tiny pieces, while the guy right in front of me got three large pieces from the same tray. No consistency, no fairness, no excuse. The orange chicken was dry and hard, like it had been sitting out forever. Clearly not fresh, and clearly not safe. I get that this is mall food court food, but basic food safety and portion control are the bare minimum. Instead, I got undercooked meat, old food, and a miserable few days recovering. Do yourself a favor and eat somewhere else. read more

I was walking by the food court And one of the employees waived at me to try a sample She told me " it's halal" and honestly she didn't have to say much more! I love that their is a halal option at the food court . She was kind enough to let me sample more than one item . I went with the noodles , steak and shrimp and chicken . I saw the reviews for this place and was surprised since it's a mall court spot that looks like a Korean panda express. You can get a plate with a couple items choices. They have noodles and fries rice, plus options for stir fries and Korean style fried chicken. Plus the food is halal! I like that they offer samples for you to try. I would say the food tastes good but on par with your typical food court Asian food. Good amount of food for the price. read more

Mind you, this happened while I was with my two-year-old child. It was extremely upsetting to witness this kind of behavior from an employee in a public setting--especially in a place where families spend their money, children are present, and staff are expected to maintain professionalism. The conduct displayed was completely inappropriate and unacceptable for a workplace. I find it disappointing that management allows this type of behavior while someone is on the clock and representing their business. I would not spend a dime at any establishment that permits such unprofessional actions. Businesses should uphold standards that make all customers--especially families with young children--feel comfortable and respected. read more

If I could give it a lower score I would order sauced up Korean fried chicken wing it was cold even though it was in the warmer, the worst part was after that I got severe food poisoning and went to the ER as a culinary major and a cook and a server that food was not up to code. read more

Okay, so five stars may be a bit of a stretch, but not because of food quality or taste, and not because of customer service; no, it's only a stretch due to the setting. Seoul Express is located in the Arden Fair Mall food court. So because of the general ambiance, I can understand why some folks would rate it below five stars. I had to rate five, though, based on the awesome customer service, the friendly and helpful demeanor of the team, and because the food tastes really good! Just by looking at it, it didn't look to appealing- got it anyway. Now my family are all cooks, including myself and when we BBQ or cook short ribs it's soaked in marinade and grilled to perfection. This here was NOT at all anything close. Plain and disappointing. It was a new establishment so we wanted to give it shot. So I usually don't eat here but I wanted some coffee so I got a boba with some food turned out to be around $21. The shrimp I got tasted stale and then they said they would call my name for my drink. Then I finish eating asking if it was ready they had it sitting there just any empty cup and she looked at me and said no not yet. Then I had to wait 4 more minutes when I was on a ten minute break. I purchased the 5 mini fishes for $5.99. The other option was 2 original size for $5.99. Filling was good. Powder sugar was dusted on top and the option of chocolate sauce on top. Great food/ drinks and even better service, this is my favorite place to eat when I'm at the mall. I ordered a bowl of chow mein, with teriyaki chicken she then poorer the teriyaki on top of everything which made the noodles so juicy! Wow what a great addition especially inside the Arden Mall. It's hard to find halal Korean/Chinese food in the Sac area so this was super convenient. The staff were super friendly and offered free samples. They walked through what they had and they were super patient. I also appreciate they display a Halal sign so it's easy to show people who want halal food that they can eat there as well. The entrees are really tasty from the orange chicken to the beef dish. It's sad because I talked with the woman working the register for awhile today about how they had to change their recipes because people didn't like the flavors or spice level. How they had to Americanize things. The beef was delicious, the fried rice and noodles were better than Panda Express, and the kimchi is delicious. The combo plate is what they served me, with all of the sauces and flavors coupled with fresh homemade cooking I was hoping for.
