Customer service was good and attentive. Also, as many other Pho places, food comes out fast. I ordered #20 shrimp spring roll with peanut sauce and the #1 special Pho. Peanut sauce was meh. Not much peanut taste. The Pho broth was also ok but the protien had good flavor.

I called in a to go order, and it was ready in 10 minutes. I enjoyed a bowl of pho and some shrimp spring rolls. Their menu has a lot of options, so I will definitely be back.

I always love the food here! The customer service is great and the food always taste amazing!

Pho Special. #1 from the menu.

Excellent customer service. Very impressive on how organized and clean the place we're. Food was delicious. I ordered their grilled pork chop (very flavourful) plate and my wife ordered their house special pho. The place was clean and each table included all necessary condiments and utensils, which isn't usual. Not so busy on site. However, there were a handful of customers who ordered take outs. Will definitely go back here.

Man I've lived in SD all my life but have not dined at this establishment til today The gentlemen who assisted me was quick and efficient I ordered a beef plate and man i wish i came here sooner Enjoy the fish tanks while you wait i was captivated

    Mystery meat "chicken"

They brought me egg rolls off another table then lied about it. And demanded I pay for them!!!!! And refused to bring a manager. This location needs a great deal of improvement. Lack of accountability from the wait staff is very disappointing. There was clearly an owner/manager here however the server refused to discuss my concern with the manager and bring them to the table. We get viet food all the time but the "chicken" was weird and my wife did not want to eat it. We ordered our dishes with egg noodles. Both of them were brought with rice noodles. The server girl said they would bring us egg noodles on the side. When I asked for them the guy working there who is probably the owner he left to the kitchen and then the server girl's mom came out, took our bowls and said they need to take our bowls back and replace the noodles with egg noodles otherwise they would need to charge us. We weren't even concerned about that, we just wanted to get our food. After that the server girl remembered to ask if we wanted drinks with our food. Our egg rolls were delivered after our soups and to the wrong table where they sat for 5 minutes until they realized their mistake and grabbed them off the other table. The server girl came out and got confrontational about us being dissatisfied with the food and service calling us rude and admitting that her mom was the manager here all along. Server lied. Took our money, gave us bad food which my wife did not enjoy one bit and egg rolls off another table. Disgusting!!!!!! ==== Response to owner's damage control reply: ==== We did not ask to comp the whole meal. Simply the dish my wife didn't eat which I uploaded a picture of here to Yelp AFTER you refused to comp it so checkmate and nice try buddy. You just have been proved to be lying. You are also lying about me trashing your bathroom which is a very disgusting thing to do. You also probably lie about what kind of meat you serve. (After trying your "chicken" I stopped eating it and left the rest in the bowl and only ate the noodles and crab balls) Where does the lying stop?

    13. Rare steak, well done flank, beef meatball.

For appetizers I ordered the fried chicken and it was very regular. There was a nice crisp with juiciness but just wasnt flavorful. The sweet and sour sauce did help add flavor to the chicken which overall makes it 7.5/10. I ordered the number 13 and everythingwas perfect from the veggies, broth, and rice noodles and meat. Service was quick and the server was very helpful. Very nice dining area with good lighting and space between other tables. Definitely will be returning!

I have been going here for many many years. I love that they always remember my order and they're so friendly. It's just the best mom and Pop shop you can find. I love that. It's always consistent here and it feels so clean. The best pho spot here in the south east area!

I can't recommend this family owned pho shop enough! They have a variety of Viet dished including pho, rice plates, and vermicelli. The pho broth is truly delicious, much more flavorful than many other typical pho spots, and you can tell the food is made well. The service is awesome too, they are attentive and check in regularly; thank you Ryan for your hospitality! food ordered - 7. rare steak and brisket pho: perfect amount of meat and noodles, I was full after this! - 29. viet express rice plate: this is a great rice plate because it have 4 different types of meat so a lot of variety! also comes with a small bowl of soup - chicken spring rolls: not on the menu (I believe it is pork and shrimp on the menu but we replaced the meat w chicken) Ryan recommended dipping into fish sauce, and it was delicious!!! Definitely recommend this pho shop in National City and prices are great compared to other spots!

Today, it's one of the most well-known Vietnamese restaurants in the city, and after this visit, I can definitely see why. One of my favorite things about coming here is the location. Even though it's right in Convoy, parking has never been an issue for me. I usually avoid the area because finding a spot can be a headache, but Phuong Trang has a large parking lot that makes stopping by so much easier. I came in for a quick takeout lunch. One thing to know before you go is they don't accept Apple Pay, so make sure to bring a physical card or cash. The staff was incredibly welcoming. They greeted me when I walked in, gave me plenty of time to look over the menu, and never made me feel rushed. That kind of hospitality really stood out. I ordered the Char-Grilled Beef Vermicelli and the Shrimp, Pork & Jellyfish Salad. The salad comes with shredded green papaya, celery, cucumber, carrots, shrimp, pork, jellyfish strips, fresh mint, crushed peanuts, and shrimp chips. The salad was refreshing with plenty of shrimp and jellyfish throughout. I especially liked the crunch from the green papaya. My only complaint was that the dressing felt a little one dimensional. I wish it had a little more brightness to bring out the fresh herbs and vegetables. It was still enjoyable, though. The Char-Grilled Beef Vermicelli was my favorite of the two. It came with vermicelli noodles, fresh herbs, pickled daikon and carrots, crushed peanuts, plus five grilled beef rolls wrapped around scallions. The beef had a delicious smoky flavor from the grill. The only downside was that the inside of the rolls was a little chewy since it didn't get the same char as the outside. Even so, every bite was packed with flavor, so it wasn't enough to take away from the dish. Between the friendly service, quick turnaround for takeout, and solid food, I can see why Phuong Trang has stayed so popular for all these years. I'd happily come back and keep working my way through their menu.

Tons of parking, no wait and restaurant was only hlaf filled. Promptly seated and waiters are still aggressive about getting your order and then forgetting about you until you ready to leave. Food wasn't quite as good as I remember. We had fresh spring rolls, beef stir fry noodle dish, large pho, egg roll and grilled pork bun and wonton noodle soup. Main entrees were all about $17 and decent portion. I like Chinese style wonton noodles and beef stir fry noodles better--I feel Vietnamese style can be a bit sweet.

They only had a table for 5 but we ended up having 6 people in our party. They were so kind to be able to accommodate the additional person! They had personalized menus that greeted my party and it wished my friends a happy birthday!! They actually got to take the menus home! This was really a nice touch, I appreciated the details. We family-styled everything which is honestly the way to go so everybody can try a little of everything! It was majority of our party's first time dining there. We started off with some drinks, I got the Non-alcoholic Guava Mocktail and I got to try what was the equivalent to an espresso martini too. Definitely liked the guava drink better because it tasted like guava nectar juice (kind of like Kerns or Jumex). The Expresso Martini had fresh mint in it and it tasted earthy which wasn't my cup of tea. For food we started off with the Heirloom Tomato Salad which was DELICIOUS!! I don't know what they put in the Vietnamese Green Goddess (probably fish sauce since all the dishes basically had this) but it was magnificent and one of my favorite dishes of the night. Then the Scallops and the Black Cod came out. The Scallops came in a set of 3 and we cut them in half so we could all have a taste. The sauce on this was DIVINE!!! It was citrusy but still really flavorful bursting with umami. I'm literally starting to drool reminiscing about it xD We wanted to keep it to use on other dishes because it was so good. The Black Cod was also delicious. It had fried skin attached and a sesame soy glaze. Next up came the Beef Tartare and the Wagyu Steak. The Beef Tartare was probably the least flavorful out of everything we ordered, but it was still well seasoned. My friend said it was really spicy but it might have just been her bite because I didn't think it was spicy at all. I like that the give you the option of leafy greens or shrimp chips to eat it with. The Wagyu though, was an all-star dish. It was the crowd favorite for sure, we all enjoyed not only the steak but the picked baby eggplants that come with it, and the sauce was phenomenal!! Lastly came the Dry Aged Duck which is what they're known for. It was definitely the biggest fish out of all. You were able to eat the duck with two different sauces, one they called a "Fish Sauce Chimichurri" and "Vietnamese XO sauce" which is more so satay. My friends liked the XO sauce but I liked the Chimichurri better. They had actually forgotten about the side of Buttered Rice but I was told it was incredibly flavorful on its own so we still asked for it. It had more than just butter in it, there was dried shrimp and sesame seeds, and it was made with coconut milk or something because it had a sweet but savory taste to it. I saved some of my duck and Wagyu to eat with it which was actually pretty good. Overall I liked that they brought out the dishes from lightest to heaviest and especially after they brought out out 2 sides of Buttered Rice we were all satisfied and full. It was the perfect amount of food. Honestly EVERY dish was different but amazingly dank and I think it's the fish sauce in everything. They were also sweet and kept the cake we brought in the fridge, placed the candles on it for us, and even after we sang they cut the cake for us!! 10/10 would recommend coming here for not only the food but the impeccable service!! Since we had a larger party there's an automatic 20% gratuity already added to the bill, which came out to be $555! (Look at that angel number!)
