After searching for good pho in north county, we found Pho Ever. I would say this is one of the better pho places and totally a fan of, except it's a bit pricey (for pho that is). A bowl will cost you a little over $10. However, they do use quality ingredients- like the beef is very tender (filet style). I just wish I had a little more noodles and beef for that price. The broth is very cloudy and flavorful. My first time I thought it was okay. My second time, it was really good. Depends on day maybe. We also like their bun xeo. It's nice and crunchy and not soggy inside. Plenty of shrimp and chicken. Their egg rolls are great too. It took a bit for pho to come out, but totally worth it. TLDR: the food is fine, but pretty much all the Vietnamese food in north county taste the same, so go somewhere that isn't STINGY! Ordered the Pho with Flank & Brisket. The small was SMALL. For $12 you get a tiny bowl with hardly any noodles. It's another dollar for a large (other restaurants don't even charge $11 for a large). It did have a good amount of meat in the bowl, but I ordered pho for the noodles, not a bowl of meat in soup. Also ordered rice vermicelli with pork & egg rolls. I like that it was mixed up for me, but the pork and egg rolls were cold. Decent size, but pricey again. How do you know they are cheap? There's no bottles or jars of sauce on the tables. They gave me a tiny packet of hoisin sauce and a tiny packet of siriacha sauce. Had to ask for chili oil and chili paste which also came in tiny containers. If they say this is a Covid protocol, that is obviously BS because that's not how covid works (I'm an ENT surgeon so...) I believe they do this to: 1.) Save on cost so customers don't waste 2.) Save on time so they don't have to refill bottles/jars 3.) Streamline DoorDash order process with little sauce packets ready to go. I have tried their bun bo hue, pho, and egg rolls. My go to order is definitely the bun bo hue and the fresh lemonade. I do not know what sugar or recipe they use for their lemonade, but it is the most delicious thing I have ever drank. Their bun bo hue is HUGE and is one of the best that I have tried in San Diego. 3/21/21~3PM FOOD/BEVERAGE I ordered Phở Đặc Biệt and it was perfect. The noodles as well as each type of meat were cooked to perfect texture and the broth was nicely developed. The bean sprouts, cinnamon basil, sliced jalapeño, and lime wedges could not have been any fresher. The Cà Phê Sữa Đá was literally perfect as well. In case it matters, I am Vietnamese. COVID-19 SAFETY They went above and beyond regarding Covid19 safety. Every other booth is blocked off and they even put two tables outside. The chopsticks were switched to single-use disposable ones and instead of having a napkin dispenser and bottles of sriracha sauce and hoisin sauce on the table, they serve single-use packets of each sauce and gave us our napkins when they handed us our flatware. The person serving us wore a mask and gloves the entire time we were there and tables are sanitized between seatings. They enforce masks and distancing though I did not see them actively do so as 100% of the people who arrived already had their noses and mouths properly covered with an acceptable mask before even approaching the front door. There is also hand sanitizer available to use freely and they do accept contactless payment even though it is not listed that they do (I used Apple Pay). my meal from Pho-Ever tonight was super delicious! I got the veggie soup (veggie pho) and spring rolls. My mom ordered soft noodle stir fry with shrimp. All of the food was really great! I am vegetarian so I was excited to taste the freshness of the vegetables as well as the depth of the vegetarian pho broth. I will definitely be coming back! We came back to our Airbnb after spending all day at Legoland. I needed to take a shower and so did the kids. I typically do not like going out to dinner feeling depleted and dirty. I was sweating bullets intermittently throughout the day. Looked and read pretty good reviews so I decided to head here for dinner. Not too far from where we were. I really like this place, and they have a number gluten free options. Our server seemed to have a very good grasp on what items had gluten and ones that didn't. There are some really good options to keep you well fed. Be sure to tell your server though. I had the sizzling beef cubes which was so impressive. We also had fresh rolls. I have been craving some Vietnamese bún and Pho-Ever had some delivery options during COVID. I ordered from Postmates (which was much more expensive than expected - also due to the fact they are not a direct partner so the prices are incorrect). I got the Bun Thit Nuong and Banh Mi. The flavor of the pork mixed with the Nuk Mam sauce was amazing! Noodles were cooked perfectly and there was plenty of veggies mixed in. My boyfriend who has never had Vietnamese cuisine before was very satisfied as well. The Banh Mi also had good flavor.. but it was lacking in substance (as in too much bread, not enough filling!) I don't leave reviews too often but I had to today, especially, for pho places. I am a die hard fan of pho. Can eat this every day for the rest of my life. Really happy with this place and also in knowing it's literally such a quick walk away (5 mins or less). Place was clean and taste just hit the spot. I get tendon in mine and have been grossed out with places that don't clean that well. Had no issues here. Also get grossed out with the chili oil utensils and jars not looking clean since it sits out for everyone to freely use and sriracha tops/caps looking rough. Not here! Happy with this place. All about the Curry today! I've eaten here several times, it's always what you know and love about Vietnamese cuisine. Typically I order the Pho, I guess that would be what lost folks order if I had to guess. On this occasion I wanted something along the line of soup but not Pho, my eye was caught by the curry option and I'm glad it did. The curry is a yellow curry with a coconut base, that happens to be my preferred curry. I'll also mention, I love curry of all kinds Indian, Thai, Vietnamese etc. they all have their own little tweak. This curry I ordered at a 2, always best to play it safe the 1st try! The curry was a typical yellow curry meaning it is prepared with onion, carrot and potato. I don't recall getting to select what type of meat its served with, I'm pretty sure they only have it available with chicken. You do get to select with you want it served with, bread, rice or noodle; I opted for the bread but feel I should have gone with rice. The curry was flavorful, packed a spicy kick for a level 2; it was more like a 3-4. They don't skimp on the meat either, it was packed with tender large chucks of chicken. The chicken was so flavorful I imagine it cooks in the curry for a good amount of time. The chicken was juicy too, not a single dry bite. The bread was a nice vessel to soak up some of that yummy spicy curry. The curry was in the neighborhood of $18, which would be the low side to the experience. I've eaten lots of curry and this one is definitely priced on the higher end. As a final note, I did have the egg rolls as well and between the price and the egg rolls I landed on a 4 star. The egg rolls are always hit or miss here, sometimes they are spot on other times they are over cooked; this occasion they were over done and dry. All in all, great spot and a good curry. read more

I ordered the Cajun shrimp dish with rice noodles and although not a large dish it was perfect. I'm from New Orleans area and it was like I was at a crab boil. Seems like ordering for delivery runs about 50/50 that they'll get it right these days. I ordered pho with chicken in beef broth (it's how I like and it was an option on Doordash). Sadly I got chicken in chicken broth. The receipt on the bag had it right but whoever made up the order didn't. As I went to look for the basil I got the tiniest sprig of basil with maybe a half dozen leaves half of which were black and going bad. It's hard to judge pho take out, as part of the charm is the steaming bowl of soup freshly assembled. We tried two other pho places on Door Dash before this and got horribly congealed noodle blobs. Pho Ever did the smart thing and slightly undercooked the noodles and it came out perfectly after we boiled the broth to pour over the separated ingredients. Even the egg rolls were delivered perfectly hot and crispy. Throughout this pandemic, we've certainly lost a lot of great restaurants, but there were some who were able to pivot and thrive. Judging by their superior pho delivery packaging, I hope they have been thriving, and I will continue to support them, especially when I need a hangover cure delivery. read more
