The mango itself was perfectly ripe, whereas most mangos tend to be sickly sweet and mushy from overripening. All in all, this is our new favorite for Thai cuisine in Tri-Cities, and my introduction to Lao food was beautiful and filling. We will absolutely be back in the future, as I'd love to see how Lao pho differs from Vietnamese pho. Plus the mango sticky rice is etched into my mind permanently.

Crispy, creamy, and served with a sweet chili sauce that hit all the right notes. The Green Curry was a different story. The curry sauce itself was flavorful enough, and I actually ate all of it. But the pork had a texture more like pulled pork than the sliced pork I'm used to seeing in Thai curry. It felt out of place and wasn't something I'd order again. I ended up leaving most of the meat and vegetables behind. The Thai Iced Coffee was also a miss for me. I know Thai coffee tends to be sweet, but this was sweetness overload. A few sips in and I was done. That said, this is a college town, prices were reasonable, service was quick, and the Crab Rangoon alone saved the meal from being a complete disappointment. Life is too short to eat mediocre food, so I'll keep searching for my favorite meal in Boone. This one just wasn't it for me.

If you are looking for jobs in the area I suggest you !!DO NOT WORK HERE!! First of all they do no interviews and they just take you in since they refuse to set up any social media platforms, no Indeed page or put up actual signs for hiring. You are pretty much the only person working and doing everything while they sit on their phone in the back calling people also will add ghost people onto your schedule. I was supposed to be working with 3 other girls named Sarah, Donna, and Abigail. According to Kim, she has made up four excuses with me either those people were never "hired" , one of the people couldn't work because they were sick or on vacation, one got fired, and one just quit though she was the one that made the schedule. So that meant I was the only cashier, waitress, and janitor even dealing when it was packed. They don't provide training all you learn is how to fill up an ice machine and pour soda in a glass not even teaching you how to make hot tea and Vietnamese coffee. They do not understand that you have a personal life, will come 1 hour late when opening, and will never notify you when it's closed. I am a single mother and have 2 kids that need someone to come home to from school told them at least FIVE times I cannot work all day due to that so i'd do lunch shifts. Andy, another owner YELLED in my face saying that i cannot leave early that day. I left early and quit the job because my kids weren't gonna sit on a cold apartment porch with no food until 9pm. There has been plenty of times i'd call Kim for work on days, she'd say she "woke up late" and notify me last second that the restaurant will be closed. I get things happen but this happened too constantly. They also love to accuse you of things and teach you to do things correctly tons of times even if you keep doing it correctly I got accused of stealing money from the drawer but it was just tip money I collected at the end of the day. And Andy loves his security cameras so much he'll threaten you with them!! Had to clean before I left and had to do the same thing for nearly 2 hours they got mad because I wasn't cleaning tables correctly or mopping how they wanted me to. The mop water they made me mop with was brown and had mouse feces in it just fyi. I'm all for supporting small businesses but in my opinion you should not support a place that treats their workers like animals! On the food side the food isn't terrible here but there's mice somewhere in the building. There are plenty of other Vietnamese restaurants in the East Tennessee area that actually are open most of the time that probably treat their workers like family!!! read more

I do not recommend this place at all the people on Facebook must be fake or really good friends with the owners. I have went here 3 times one of the times being it randomly closed with 2 workers sitting outside in the heat wondering where the owners are. Another time where it was jammed and there was only one person dealing with a big crowd and the person getting yelled at by owners, and the last time they were only doing takeout orders so I ordered online through Skipli and they never made my order. So I went inside and asked and both owners kept screaming and cussing me out, both English and Vietnamese and kept trying to claim that I don't know how to order online. Excuse me but I've ordered off of many services, what a poor excuse to blame customers! Bistro and Roots have way better and calmer service than this, I don't understand why people hype this place up. I guess this is just my luck with this place apparently. read more
