I moved about a year ago and my usual pho spot is a bit farther away from me now. So I Yelped for a new location. I found Phoday and the menu and reviews looked good. I went with a friend and when we arrived there was ample parking and we were seated right away. The menu is robust for pho options. I ended up getting the filet mignon and flank in beef broth. I added tofu as well. It was really good! The broth was extremely flavorful and the meats were soft and tasty. The decor of the restaurant is really nice and has a traditional Vietnamese vibe. I went around Christmas and it was also decorated fun for the holidays. I will definitely be heading back soon, especially on cold days this winter. Never disappoint spot. Attempting to try the whole menu. To conquer the whole menu I must order 1 app, 1 pho, and 1 rice plate on each visit! This trip, started with Viet spring roll (gotta make that peanut + hot chili sauce to dip with), first entre beef balls with tendon pho (again make that side dipping sauce hot chili + hoisin sauce + sriracha sauce), you already know its good, for dessert I went with C4: grilled pork rice plate (make that sauce again sweet dipping sauce + hot chili oil).. Food is great here that we drive 40 minutes just to eat here! The staff is really nice and attentive. I would describe the dining area as a small step up to a cafe style place. The pork banh mi comes in 2 sizes, which is great for people wanting to eat multiple things! It's so yummy! The meatball pho is great there and also for leftovers. The pho lives up to the restaurant's name! Banh Xeo was nice and crispy with lots of filling and fresh perilla, lettuce, and mint accompaniments. I happily ate it all! This was our very first visit at Phoday. They had allot of great reviews, so we thought we would try them out. They were nice enough to let us pick which side to sit on. We choose the less crowded side, once we sat down, we could see why...There was clutter in every direction, I could see all of their security cameras, not appealing to the eye at all, and there was no ambiance. When we arrived we got a high chair that was covered with ants. The pho and spring rolls were okay. The flavors were there but the pieces of meat inside the pho had allot of chewy fatty pieces, which were inedible, I had to pick it out. The service was quick but there was no one to check in to see if we needed refill with our drinks. Cannot say we will be back anytime soon. read more

Wonderful pho place in Schaumburg. My gf and I originally wanted to grab some sushi but tryna to find seating at any sushi place on a Saturday night... impossible. Luckily we searched the Yelp world and found us a noodle spot to hit our other crave spot, hot noodle dishes. Fortunately, we were able to get a table at Phoday due to their large place of business. Staff was excellent and nice (certainly could use a few more people but that isn't their fault). My gf and I went for our own pho dishes, shared a banh mi and one stir fried vermicelli dish with beef. Each dish was superb. I didn't know if it was the fact I was so hungry, but everything was cooked to perfection. Flavors were on point in the pho, broth was rich in beef and umami taste, and the noodles were the perfect consistency. Banh mi was solid. Nothing too special but still great to have. As for the stir fried vermicelli dish. That shocked me big time. Never had a stir fried noodle dish with take to crisp up the noodles a bit. Here's what you need to know: absolutely fantastic food. Mouth watering my delicious and perfectly executed with flavors and textures. Great service with a smile too. Perfect family restaurant. An absolute gem. The broth of the chicken pho is so elegant and the beef pho is so powerful. The rice flour pancakes are insanely delicious with great seasoning and texture. The sauces are to die for - simple yet intense. Fresh sprouts, basil, and mint are the perfectly curated garnish to elevate the flavors even more. Even the Vietnamese coffee was PERFECT (I asked for it to not be too sweet and they balanced it impeccably). The veggie stir fry (my friend who is vegetarian ordered that) was one of the flavorful noodle dishes I've ever tasted. Amazing service from the whole team to boot. Dined here for the first time just now (Monday, 3-24-2025, 8 pm - 9 pm) -- and I definitely plan on coming back! Was craving Vietnamese food on my way home from work and a Costco run! I was specifically craving a huge bowl of piping hot, hearty pho, since these past few nights have been cold! The awesome menu here is HUGE, and has a great and far more interesting, delicious selections compared to all the other Northwest suburban Vietnamese restaurants I've dined at over the past few decades ...especially since this place had my hard-to-find FAVORITE Vietnamese dish -- Banh Xeo (a light and crispy pancake-like crepe, stuffed with shrimp, pork and bean sprouts, and folded into a half moon shape)...the one here was the biggest and most delicious one I ever had! For entree, I had the Pho Day House Special-- which was also spectacularly heartwarming and delicious to the highest exponential power! The service was great, too-- there were only 2 gentlemen working the entire dining room (both were serving AND clearing tables) -- and did a GREAT job taking care of me! The restaurant's dark wood interior with its high ceilings and contemporary light fixtures gave it a nice cozy, welcoming ambiance! The main dining room - which you can see from the parking lot - was incredibly full, which, for a Monday night, was impressive! Wanted to like it but food was not good. The pork plate was dry and lacking in flavor. The calamari was okay but the fry oil needs to be changed and it was cooked too long. I like golden brown more than anyone but it was burnt without being black. Maybe pho is better here I didn't get it but won't be coming back. Came here for lunch with my family. This is a nice, clean restaurant with a great ambiance. We were a group of 19, so I was unable to take pictures of what everyone ordered. My uncle and aunt ordered the Pho Day, Vietnamese spring and egg rolls. Hubby ordered the crispy fried whole hen, and I got the grilled chicken vermicelli rice noodles and the calamari. The calamari was delicious. It was crispy, light, seasoned well, and not salty. The garlic sauce compliments it very well. I tried some of hubby's chicken, and it was moist and tender. The grilled chicken in my dish was just as delicious and fresh. I love bean sprouts and basil, so the fact that they give additional bean sprouts on the side is a plus for me! I love spice, and their jalapenos were hot. The only reason I gave this place 4 stars instead of 5 is that our food came out, mostly one at a time, and not typically all at once, like at most food establishments. At first, we were waiting until everyone's food came, but when we started eating, we would eat slow, just so the others wouldn't feel rushed to eat. But, it was also a nice time to catch up with everyone, so it wasn't bad nor did we complain. The staff was very responsive and would check on our food every time we asked, which we really appreciated. Aside from this, the staff was awesome. Hubby and I live in the far south suburbs, and we wish we had a place like this out by us because we would definitely be returning customers. Great food, reminds me of home. Pho came out really quick and to be honest, one of the best bowl of pho I've ever tasted. The broth was delicious, did not need any hoisin or siracha. This broth is less sweet than other Pho I've had experienced in the past. I really like that about this place. The service was great, our server knew the language and helped us out with our order. My Porkchop with rice was decent, but not really all that different. I didn't really like the meat they used, felt and tasted a little on the cheaper side compared to other Com Suon I've had. I was searching for halal options in Schaumburg a while back and Pho Day came up. I was surprised to see a halal Vietnamese option, as I'd never seen one before. I shortlisted it, and tonight I made my way over. There's only a small section of the menu that's labeled halal (there's also a vegetarian section on the menu), but the owner showed us some other dishes under the Rice Vermicelli & Rice Egg Noodle section that could be made with halal meat. He said the halal meats are cooked separately. We ordered the Beef Stir-Fry Crispy Noodle (H4) and Chicken Pho (H3). My expectations weren't very high, as I'd never had Vietnamese cuisine before, but both dishes exceeded my expectations. At first I thought the crispy noodle dish would be too dry, but once we soaked the noodles in the sauce that was hidden underneath, it was stellar. The crispiness + the flavor were well-matched. The beef was flavorful, and there was an adequate amount of veggies. The broth in the chicken pho was tasty and super satisfying. Lots of ginger undertones. The noodles were cooked perfectly, and there were some toppings included on the side (i.e. bean sprouts, peppers, and lime) for additional flavor. The chicken itself wasn't really seasoned, but it was cooked nicely so it was tender and there was a dipping sauce (ginger + fish sauce) on the side. It felt like a healthy dish, and I imagine this dish would be comforting on a cold winter night. The interior is nice and comfortable and there's plenty of seating. Parking is also easy in this plaza. Service was friendly and the food came out reasonably quick. We had plenty of leftovers, so it was a good value, too. Pho-nominal! My wife and I first tried Vietnamese food about 5 years ago with no idea what to expect. Since then my 9 year old daughter has become a bignfan of pho. So we look for options. This place opened a few months back and we got free babysitting tonight. So we got to try it. A beautiful and calming atmosphere. Simple but beautiful decor. The smells as you hit the door make your mouth water. Our server was friendly and helpful. He steered us to a couple of options that may not have been our first. And he didn't steer us wrong. The sping rolls and egg rolls were both an amazing start. The peanut sauce with the spring rolls was so tasty. Next was the beef bahn mi, which was hard to put down. Typically I enjoy the roasted pork option, but this is worth trying. But of course the pho was why we went. We tried the chicken breast and it was delicious, but the thinly sliced rare steak is typically our favorite and this was no exception. First off, I really wanted to give this small business restaurant, a great review, but I feel there is a bit of room for improvement here. As local entrepreneurs ourselves, we value small businesses. My husband and I have decided to make Thursdays a date nite with the intention of trying places that are small business in our own neighborhood. Last night it was Phoday. Unfortunately our dining experience did not live up to our expectations. We arrived for a late dinner at around 7:30. Since they close at 9:00 we figured there would a still be plenty of time to enjoy the meal. I was excited to try some of the highly rated Vietnamese food. When we arrived, I noticed the layout was unusual and disconnected. It was an odd looking set up with a nice dining areas on the sides but in the middle - nothing but an empty floor with a few long tables where it seemed they were prepping for to-go items. The bar area was cluttered, and absolutely not set up for customers to sit there. The server saw us and cued us to sit wherever we wanted, then he came by quickly and dropped a few to-go menus in front of us with some waters. It felt a bit rushed, but I was glad to have the menu and water so quickly. They do not serve liquor which was fine for us but might have been nice. The drinks are canned pop or Vietnamese coffee and Thai or bubble tea. Maybe it was an off night, or perhaps they were just understaffed...I saw only one server and then one lady at the phones. The restaurant was pretty full when we arrived and we figured that (and the decent Yelp rating) was a good sign! After navigating the menu and referring to Yelp photos to give us a vague idea about the items, we ordered the Phoday Pho and the Pork Vermicelli dish. The food came quickly! My pork had a little side bowl of some kind of liquid that I assumed to be sauce...So I added it to the dry noodles in my bowl. The pork was tasty, but it was a bit of a challenge to navigate eating the larger pieces, especially since no knife was supplied. My husbands pho was good, decent broth- and he enjoyed it. He had wanted to order another Diet Coke, but no one ever came back. After the food was dropped off, there was NO service at all. I ended up using the single supplied fork and a chopstick to pull apart the larger pieces of my pork into smaller pieces. After we finished, it was about 8:15 and only just a few customers were left in the restaurant. It was clear they were in the process of shutting down the restaurant, as the lights started to go off, and they were counting the receipts and finishing the last to-go orders at the end of the day. After a long wait, my husband went and found a take-home box from a shelf for me then went to the host-station and paid the bill. I honestly don't know if this is the way it works there, or if they were supposed to have brought us a check. As I mentioned, there was no attention paid to us after they dropped off the food. :( I would love to go back and try some of the other dishes, (like the pancake!), but perhaps only for take-out next time. read more

Came here because I was seeing some great reviews from fellow Yelpers. This place was once a Chinese restaurant and although I'm sorry so see any community restaurant close I'm so happy Phoday is here. Husband ordered a beef bhan mi and I ordered the P17 chicken pho both selections were fantastically flavorful. The menu states the chef puts passion and soul into every dish and it's true! The bread on the bahn mi was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The beef was thinly sliced and lean and flavorful. Fresh veggies rounded out the flavors. Daikon cucumber jalapeño carrots and cilantro. The broth in P17 Pho Ga was like a perfectly balanced dream pho. I could not stop eating slurping and smiling. The only thing that would have made it better was if my stomach was bigger! If you love pho and banh mi come and give Phoday a try. If you have never had pho and banh mi - come give Phoday a try. My go to Pho place in the suburbs! The broth is rich with flavor! Full of depth! I love their meatballs and tendon! I always get their fresh spring rolls! The restaurant is spacious. Wooden tables were all spaced out, so customers feel isolated. The service was okay. I feel like I have to ask the waiter/waitress for more water and napkins every time I am here. They don't go around and refresh their customers' water. Also, they do not check in on you, so I feel like I am always flagging them down every time I go here. I have the grilled pork chop rice plate & my husband had the pho day special. The broth was flavorful, just a little bit on the sweet side; the noodles were fresh & chewy (love it); beef, the bean sprouts & chili were good & fresh too. I love my grilled pork chop rice plate. The pork chop was tender, juicy & flavorful. There were two little sides, not sure what they were but they tasted great! I love every bit of my rice plate. Best Pho place! I live in the city but everytime I come back to the suburbs on the weekend I make sure to go here. Halal menu is amazing for fellow muslims. Everytime I do a pick up order it says it will take 20-40 minutes but after 10 minutes it's ready. Service is always so amazing. Waiters/Waitresses are always the best. I went there to grab a small snack at 2pm in the afternoon. Surprised that there were still tables with clients and people walking inside. The place is vast and tables are not all stacked together. I got a Vietnamese sandwich. The young server was really courteous and nice although I only got one item on the menu. He asked if he should pack mine to go or eat on the way. That was nice because sandwiches tends to get less crunchy if waited too long. I told him I'll eat on the drive home. The sandwich came out within 5 min and warm and delicious. Authentic Vietnamese style! Oh and they can do a small or large size just in case your appetite is small. In my case since I wanted a snack, the small sandwich was perfect and not wasted!
