Who doesn't love Pho?! I especially love Pho so when I found out about this place I definitely wanted to go. The restaurant is a little different than most. Kind of reminds of me of food truck type place where you order at the window but the tables are outside. I've read some of the other reviews and yes on a hot sunny day in Florida it is difficult to sit outside but PhoEdin does a good job of providing fans that fight the heat. When ordering, the lady was extremely nice and sweet. Very helpful indeed. Helped to understand the difference between their Pho and others Pho. So I ordered the beef rib pho with two spring rolls and Reef Donkey beer to drink. She delivered my food to mean shave different options for me to make my pho to my liking. The pho was very delicious and very flavorful. The spring rolls were wrapped in plastic wrap which I thought was weird. I Unwrapped them and had no problem. Then I took a bite out of my spring roll and it essentially fell apart. Not one. Both of them. I was disappointed at that. But other than that it was very delicious and good. read more

We all like Pho, right? Well, most of anyways. After all, it's just noodle soup that each individual spices up to their own liking. But not so fast. No customizing here. Your bowl will arrive with all the fixins included, so if you don't like it spicy, ask for no jalapeños. Same goes if you don't like mint or cilantro. As for the soup, it's really good! I got the chicken and pork meatball combo. The pork was very tasty, but the chicken? Skip it. It lacks flavor and its drizzled with what tastes like a teriyaki BBQ sauce--not worth the extra 2 bucks in my opinion. Also, I ordered a half portion and it was plenty for me. The soup was slow to come out, but they just open, so I refuse to ding them for that. Patience is the key here. The main drawback here is the restaurant itself. Florida is a sweltering hot state, especially along the west coast were we don't have the luxury of a constant seabreeze like the folks on the east side. So as one might imagine, eating boiling hot soup requires a cool environment in which to do so, and from Arpil to December, PhoEdin isn't really going to provide that. Why? Because it is outdoor seating only. Sure, it's shaded, but make no mistake, if you put one jalapeño too many in your broth, you'll be sweating like a hooker in a southern Baptist church. Still, I think this place has potential, and it brings an a new element to Dunedin, Vietnamese fare. Pisces Sushi just relocated from Main & US 19 to the downtown area, so it feels like there is a nice ethnic shift in the food's diversity happening right now, and I am a big fan. Now all we need is a good Mediterranean joint! The numero uno positive with PhoEdin is location. Sure, it's not on trendy Main Street, but it is right off the Pinellas Trail. Lots of pedestrian traffic passing by this place on a daily basis. In fact, it is how La Chica & I found it; just whizzing by on our bikes. Stopped in for the first time on my bike, I got the pork banh mi & a side of seaweed salad; $11 and change. Worth it. The bread was decent, and the pork was good, with plenty of cool veggies and cilantro and lots of fresh jalapeño for spice. The seaweed salad was like any other I've had before at sushi places, quite possibly the same brand. All in all, 5- stars, good food, good service. My only advice, you may want to call ahead. Was looking forward to trying this place because I love pho and noticed some good reviews. Unfortunately I am disappointed! The little bit of chicken I got was fried and didn't even taste like chicken,accidentally given pork maybe? I have never had fried chicken in pho! They did not put very much chicken in the bowl either. The bowl was mostly slightly over cooked noodles. I was also very disappointed with the small amount of cilantro and onion I was given. The broth container size was 2 cups which is half the size given at most pho places. The broth looked nice and clear as it should but did not have much flavor. Perhaps it didn't simmer long enough but definitely missing something,fish sauce maybe?The banana boba tasted very watered down and the boba was mushy,not chewy as it should be. I miss my fav pho spot in Pinellas Park that closed down and looking for a replacement. Unfortunately I won't get this again but I will go back to try the Banh Mi and will keep looking for my new pho place. UPDATE...when I put it in my bowl to try and eat the broth did not even cover half of the noodles. The broth was improved after I let it set in fridge overnight with added fish sauce,star anise,ginger and cilantro. I would give 1 star but that just seems mean. First of all this is not Vietnamese food - this is a spin on Vietnamese cuisine. I ordered beef pho (which I have eaten all around the world - including Vietnam) and it came with a rich almost red broth that did have a good flavor - but not authentic. The beef was cooked and coated in something - it reminded me of how BBQ sauce sticks to ribs. It wasn't bad but that isn't what comes in Pho. The noodles were not thin rice noodles but thicker and reminded me of spaghetti noodles (boo-hiss). Everybody was already in the bowl - jalapeno, a teeny bite of lime and something weird and crunchy that I have never seen in Pho before. It was okay - but not at all what I expected and certainly not Pho in the traditional sense. Now, moving on to the spring roll. It was burnt. I mean burnt - see the pics. I ordered the pork spring roll because I had one before this place officially opened and it was delicious. This was almost all pork but the problem was it was all pink pork so it wasn't cook on the inside but it was burnt on the outside. Needless to say I didn't eat my lunch when I got home and I'm sad about it. I want to see this place to great things but guys you have to get your act together. My husband came here to do a takeout order. 2 orders of pho, I order of steamed buns and 1 order of gyoza. Took almost 40 minutes to receive his food. He watched a lot of people with more complicated orders get their food before him. When he brought it home I was disappointed. The pho was very small portions and my tofu was raw and tasted like nothing, the gyoza were greasy and inedible and the steamed buns were dried out and the meat was oddly stringy. A friend and I were going to be hanging out in downtown Dunedin today, so we decided to park in the lot on Scotland St., and then cross the street to try PhoEdin before heading to House of Beer. Apparently my friend had never had pho before, so she decided to try that and a tofu spring roll. I went with a beef rice bowl and an order of gyoza. We'd originally planned on walking with our food to HOB, but since this was my friend's first time trying pho and there was only two other people on their small patio, we decided to stay. I waited about 15-20 minutes for the gyoza, but when they came out, they were piping hot. Though not the best gyoza I've ever had, they were still pretty pleasing. I would definitely order them again. Another 10 minutes after I finished my gyoza, my friend received her spring roll, which she enjoyed. She noted the peanut sauce, which she said was some of the best she'd had (I'm unsure if it's made in-house, or if they buy it from somewhere). After our sides were finished, I believe we waited another 15 minutes or so for our dishes. My rice bowl was much smaller than I expected, and I mean that in the best way. A lot of asian places will give you a lot of food, and I wasn't looking forward to stuffing my face or having to carry out leftovers, so this was a pleasant surprise. It was also quite simple - a small amount of rice topped with beef, and pickled veggies on the side with tomatoes. The sauce on the rice was a bit salty, but that might just be my own personal taste. The rice itself was perfect, sticky but not mushy. The beef also had a great flavor, and I found myself wishing there would've been a sauce on top of the beef so that I could have mixed it in with the rice, too. The pho was also a smaller portion than I expected and less broth than usual. Again, that's not a complaint. It looked like the perfect amount for one person. I think the best part of our meal was that they were able to accommodate my friend's vegan diet in not only the tofu, but the broth, too. Overall, I really enjoyed my visit here today, and I'll definitely be back for the pho. It was just too hot today. The customer service was great, and even the amount of waiting we did wasn't terrible when you consider that there are only two ladies working the window and the kitchen. read more

I wanted to love this place since it's so close to my house. After eating their food today I will happily drive the 30 plus minutes to my regular pho place now. I got their tofu pho with beef broth, egg rolls, and a strawberry boba smoothie. Their tofu pho came with only tofu no other veggies which was different. The beef broth left much to be desired, came with half the amount normal pho places give you (didn't even cover the noodles). It was also way too spicy with a very over powering anise flavor. No beefy flavor whatsoever. The egg rolls were okay, very small and the dipping sauce was like water. The strawberry smoothie had stale boba in it and tasted exactly like nestle powdered strawberry milk I used to drink as a kid. Definitely disappointing experience. Tried it again and bad luck...again. It took an hour to get the food. We asked at the window when ordering and she said 15 minutes. Afterwards I went to the restroom around back and as I was about to enter am Asian lady said I couldn't use that bathroom...it was only for customers and pointed to the public restroom (behind the history museum). I love this place. If you need a injection of energy and want to feel good after you eat, their soup is the best! I ride my bike here since it is right on the Pinellas Trail in Downtown Dunedin. Outside seating only, they have a restroom and a covered area with some tables and a community live slab picnic-style table. It's a great place to meet new people. Staff is all family and really friendly. They are super-polite and take special care of the food they are preparing. If you drive, parking is free in the lot across the street but there is also a hidden free parking lot on the north side of the building. Enjoy! read more

Not gonna lie, I was pretty disappointed in this place. It looked really cute and the service here was great. There is seating outside and it is covered. We went on a chilly day and we were all looking for some hot phò. We wanted some pizza but didn't want to have to wait for it. The price here was average for what you would pay for phò at a sit down place. We got it to go thinking we could eat some there and save some for home. After we ordered, we waited a long time for our food to be ready. Definitely could have ordered a whole pizza and had it ready before our phò. It came out in your standard to go formate, broth in one container and everything else in another. Decided to drive home after waiting so long in the cold. After setting it up there wasn't much food! The phò itself was very disappointing, not enough flavor to the broth and finished it still being hungry. :(. It was a bit hot for an outdoor non-customizable pho so I took my chances with a cool, fresh spring roll. Each roll was 2.50. That's new for me since two rolls of about the same size are 2.00 at the place I usually go to on Waters Ave. Not only that, but they're actually free with a Yelp check-in at the other place as well. Anyway the peanut dipping sauce is way better here, probably the best, but there was so little of it in the plastic soufflé cup that it was only enough for one roll with rationing in full effect. I've been eyeing this place up for a few weeks after I saw it while biking down the Trail. Second day they were open, I happened to be nearby and grabbed a really good pork belly summer roll ("Fresh Roll") to go. I enjoyed it a lot, but I figured I'd hold off on reviewing the place til I could have a proper sit-down there. That was today. OVERALL (tl;dr) I rate this place a solid 8/10, but I'm giving it five stars because the food quality far outshines the logistical issues. If you want to dine in, feel free to go for the sandwiches and rolls and everything but the pho. Everything I've tried has been really good, especially the pork belly. If you want pho, order it to go becauce the outside seating makes it just too hot to eat a big bowl of soup. I ordered the pork belly Banh Mi (on the recommendation of the owner, $6), a pork belly Fresh Roll ($2.50), two veggie spring rolls ($1), and a pork belly spring roll ($1.50). The summer roll was excellent: the wrapping wasn't too thick, the pork belly was rich and tender, the veggies were fresh and bright, and the peanut sauce was my favorite of all the places in the area (though I could've used more of it). The veggie spring rolls surprised me with how flavorful they were, and they were perfectly fried. The pork belly spring roll was the same excellence, but with the added bonus of their great pork. And the pork belly banh mi, oh boy, the banh mi: the bread was just the right level of crusty; the pork was cut and seasoned so well that it was even easier to eat than the veggies; the sriracha and mayo(?) sauce melded to highlight the flavors of it all and give it some bite; and the veggies were well-proportioned and cut thin enough that the whole sandwich had a really distinct, really cohesive taste. OMG. GREAT GREAT FOOD! WHAT A FIND! Stopped for lunch, first time ever in Dunedin. The lettuce wraps with their pork meatballs were to DIE for! And I am generally vegetarian. It was one of their specials that day. The peanut sauce is some of the very very best we've ever had. We have eaten Asian food quite a bit, particularly in Chicago with its fabulous restaurants not to mention its Chinatown section and this one rates right up there with the VERY BEST! Haven't had a decent banh mi in such a long while and the drive out to Dunedin was totally worth it. The owners are the friendliest, and they were very understanding of my food allergies. The sandwich itself was toasted to perfection, and the ratio of pork belly to veggies made every bite delicious.
