As you can see from the plethora of reviews currently posted to the listing, Phoenician Kabob has already garnered a great deal of praise on this site. And today, I want to contribute my own two cents to the discussion. So you're gonna listen, and you're gonna like it. One thing I've always appreciated about PK (as I will be henceforth be calling the restaurant in this review) is their selection of their fresh-baked savory pies and pastries, collectively known as Fatayer. Not too long ago, I was able to sample the spinach/pine-nut pockets called Sabanekh, and was wowed by interplay of flavors and textures within. Another one that comes to mind in this regard is the Palestinian specialty Musakhan (no, it's not related to Moussaka...) which melds moist chicken, soft onions, and tangy sumac into a scintillating symphony of sorts. But if you prefer, say, a heaping helping of grilled mushrooms, or the creamy semisoft cheese called Jibneh, or indeed the classic thyme/sesame sprinkling known as Za'atar, these are possible options for you too so don't despair. I guess what I'm trying to say is that they didn't install that oven just for fun, so why not help them out? Hmm, what else can I tell you about that's a little out of the ordinary? Oh, I know! Sometimes PK features a red lentil and jalapeño soup which is simply outasight. It's spicy, filling, warming, and undeniably unctuous - and in this case, that's not a bad thing to be by any means. I also should point out that their Vegetarian Combo is absolutely enormous (consisting of falafel, hummus, baba ghanouj, stuffed grape leaves, *and* tabbouleh) - if you order it, you might not want to start with a separate appetizer too, or you may not be leaving your bed for quite a while once you get home (as I discovered on a past excursion)! But it'll hurt so good, I promise. And believe me, you'll definitely want to save some room for dessert, especially if they've got Sha'abiyat [Syrian custard pie] available on your visit. I know I deal in superlatives a lot, but that's honestly one of my favorite sweet dishes in town, so try it out! read more

You know what I love about this place? I love how it's become my second home. I love how the owner is like a father to me. I love the delicious glasses of red and white Lebanese wine. I love how the lamb medallions dipped in garlic sauce melt in my mouth. I love how Sundays here aren't the end of my week, but the beginnings of a new one. I love that my Turkish coffee comes with an in-depth fortune reading after I'm finished. I love everything about Phoenician Kebab. And most of all, I love that Westword and The Denver Post agree. read more

The new drug of choice being peddled on East Colfax is Baba Ghanoush! Well...at least I am addicted. Step into Phoenician Kabob and you won't be wowed with the atmosphere. But the food is awesome. I previously yelped the glory of PK's Baba Ghanoush and shawarma - I thought I would provide an update of some of their other delights. In the morning, you can get yourself some traditional Lebanese breakfast. At a mere $2.95, the zatar is a wonderful morning treat. It is essentially a brick-fired flat bread covered with a salty-savory mixture of toasted sesame seeds, thyme, almonds, olive oil and other spices. I like to order with a side of BG and a cup of fresh brewed coffee. For lunch, my favs are the gyro sandwich and the kafta kabob sandwich. PK's lunch specials are fabulously good deals that will sit lightly in your stomach allowing for you to be productive in the afternoon - I can't say the same thing about many other restaurants. The dinner choices go on and on - it is hard to go wrong. Host/Waiter/Chef/Bartender Tony works his butt off to keep you comfortable and well fed. The service can be occasionally slow, but it is worth it for this wonderful homestyle meal experience. A liquor license is in the works as the proprietor continues to develop his new restaurant. read more

So I have one check in, but the reality is that I come here at least a few times a month. I have no idea how I haven't reviewed this place until now. This is one of my very favorite restaurants, period. Everything is homemade in house and incredibly delicious. The servers are always kind and accommodating. I generally go for lunch, because I like the cheaper lunch specials. I always get the chicken kabob. At lunch that means one chicken kabob with onions, bell peppers, and delicious chicken pieces served with basmati rice (seriously, how do they make rice so good???) cucumber/tomato/onion salad and (drum roll) the garlic aioli (technically called thume.) THE GARLIC AIOLI WILL BLOW YOUR MIND AND CHANGE YOUR LIFE... All of those things are incredible and I also recommend getting pita bread because it is warm and awesome. Now I have to go there tomorrow because I'm craving it like crazy. read more

I once wrote a review about another Middle Eastern place located in Denver and was fairly generous in the rating. Some time went by and someone just short of accused me of being incompetent of my own review and said that Phoenician Kabob was the place that he recommended. I took all of this in stride, reminding myself to keep calm and not say anything snide as a response. I heard more good things about Phoenician Kabob and decided to give the place a try about a week or two ago. I have to say the accusing person was correct. It was delicious. I ordered chicken and lamb kabobs which were outstanding as well as the hummus and rice that accompanied my dish. The desserts were great too. We had a cream filled bakliva(the proper name eludes me) which also was a stand out! The waiter was friendly and eager to explain his knowledge of the menu for names and terms that we got hung up on and didn't know. What people seem not to realize is that there are so many different kinds of recipes for one kind of food that anything goes. If you like it then you like it and who really cares what others may think. The other Middle Eastern place I reviewed was definitely of the collegian diner caliber but that doesn't necessary mean that is bad. Phoenician Kabob is more for the diners that want a slow, romantic dinner without a lot of noise. While I freely admit that I am now madly in love with Phoenician Kabob; I will never admit to my accuser that I agree with him. That would only increase the pretentiousness and make his head and ego swell even more than it is already. It doesn't need anymore encouraging. read more

Probably my favorite restaurant this far east on Colfax. It is just 5 minutes from my house so we frequently order take out but we also dine in from time to time. Usually when I go, I have a big appetite and get the meat combo. I really like all the meats but I always get a kafta kabob as one of the choices in the combo. I like the hummus, I love the baba ghanouj, and like the garlic sauce that comes with the chicken shawarma. The only thing I am not into is the belly dancing on those nights when dining in.... I've been to several near-eastern/Mediterranean places in Aurora and East Denver and Phoenician Kabob is by far my favorite. Phoenician Kabob's meat dishes are delicious, well-seasoned (but not too salty) and lean with adequate portions. I've had both chicken and beef and have been happy with both. They have nightly specials; one night I had an eggplant/potato/ground beef baked special (I don't know what it was called and it was delicious.) They also offer lamb, seafood and vegetarian options. The portion sizes are balanced and appropriate, they don't load you up on meat; however, they don't short you on protein and then try to make up for it with too much rice/grain. For me, when I eat near-eastern food, its the sides and the sauces that really make or break the meal. Phoenician Kabob includes several sides including hummus, grape leaves, salads and the like. I love the various hummus variations and they have a delicious tzatziki; I find it good on everything. The tabouleh is delicious, lightly minted and refreshes the palate. It is a nice refreshing complement to the spices and flavors of the other items on the plate. This last point is important because the baba ganouj is a delicious flavor explosion... I'll leave it at that! They also offer drinks and desserts including traditional coffee. The restaurant interior is understated, and it doesn't need to be flashy, the food says it all. read more

I have discovered my Denver Greek Salad go-to spot! Among the eclectic spots on East Colfax - this is a true gem. The spectacular service is only to rivaled by the spectacular food bursting with deliciously distinguished Mediterranean flavors. To begin - I feel I must note just how patient and charming our server was. Not only did she not even flinch when our very adorable 16 month old dining companion flung rice everywhere, but she brushed it off by simply saying 'No big deal, we understand. Things happen' As she walked us through the menu and delicious sounding specials, we all landed on pretty solid choices of chicken schwarma, dolmas, and my favorite the Greek Salad with chicken schwarma. Never have I laid eyes on a salad so dense in flavor and size with all the best ingredients that constitutes a Greek Salad. Not overwhelmed with lettuce, each olive, feta cheese, lettuce piece, onion were perfectly rationed throughout the ginormous salad. But the best part? Oh the best part was this garlic dipping sauce that accompanies the salad. Not particularly sure how the sauce was supposed to consumed as the salad already had a delicious vinaigrette lightly coating each bite, but I am so happy I discovered it. It's the consistency of a butter, yet was informed that is was made of olive oil, egg white, and garlic. And if you are a lover of garlic like yours truly then you'll be dipping your pita in this all night long. I'd almost go as far as to say that this tiny condiment could be a big enough reason to return time and time again. It doesn't hurt that every other dish was just as delicious. Oh - and try the fatayer, too - it's essentially a Mediterranean pizza and is divine! read more

This place was thoroughly disappointing. Came here for lunch after seeing a picture of the lunch specials on their menu. $5.95 seemed reasonable for a plate, and $4.50 or so for a sandwich. Nope, apparently the pictures were "5 years old" according to the waiter. The lunch specials were $3-$4 more expensive each, and the sandwiches were at least $3 more expensive. But I feel bad about up and leaving, so I stuck around. I ordered the chicken shwarma sandwich ($7.95), skipped the fries ($2.50 extra), though asked for a side of hummus. Unfortunately with all the sides offered, hummus was not one of them, so it had to be the full-priced appetizer for $5.95. The hummus was bland and boring. The pita was so thick it wasn't fully cooked inside. And the shwarma looked and tasted like boiled meat from a bag, not like the amazing, spit roasted delicacy I've eaten at other places. It was all highly disappointing. The service wasnt much better. He forgot my drink and I had to remind him as he was giving me my food. Then he didn't offer to refill it until I was done with my meal. I realize he may have been busy, but that shouldn't be an excuse for me having poor service (they obviously need to hire more people). All in all, still giving about a 15% tip, my lunch was still $20...not at all worth it. For that much for lunch, I expect something at Linger or Root Down...and this place is not in the same category. I never write reviews, but I want to make sure I shared my experience. I've lunched at Phoenician Kabob twice now and both times took advantage of the lunch special, which comes with your choice of meat with salad and rice on the side. So far I've tried the chicken shawarma and chicken kabob. I liked the kabob better than the shawarma, I think. The kabob chicken was tender and flavorful. I'd like to try a beef dish next. Any way you go, it's a lot of food for around $8.00. I've also had the pleasure of trying some of the appetizers and, honestly, I liked them even better than my entrees. The smokey, creamy Baba Ghanouj and the deliciously smooth hummus are accompanied by pillowy pockets of warm pita fresh from the brick oven. The star of the show for me was the zaatar fatayer, a flat bread sprinkled with a mixture of toasted sesame seeds, thyme, olive oil, sumac, sea salt, I think pine nuts, and probably some other spices baked in the brick oven. Just scrumptious! Yes, there is an authentic brick oven back in the kitchen, which emits wonderful aromas into the dining room and cooks the food to perfection. I think sometimes you have to wait a bit but good food takes time. I bet you'll be more than pleased with the service here and if the owner is around, he'll probably come to your table and say hello. - Cute decor. Looks more like a bistro or wine bar than your average run-of-the mill Mediterranean restaurant. - The menu is pretty extensive though there aren't many vegetarian nor seafood entrees. Lots of interesting appetizers though ($4/5ish). Entrees are $10-$16. Sandwich platters are crazy cheap. - We chose the Garlic Dip with Pita ($3.95) to start. Holy crap, this stuff was seriously deadly. I love love LOVE garlic, but five minutes in, my eyes were beginning to smart and my throat was tingling. We're talking raw liquified garlic mixed with a bit of lemon juice and olive oil. I'm pretty certain I'll be belching garlic fumes for at least the next 24 hours. - I then had a gyro and fries ($5.50! Bargain!). The meat was absolutely delicious - thick chunks of nicely-seasoned lamb/beef topped with the usual tomatoes, lettuce and onion, and a little pot of tangy tzatziki sauce on the side. The fries weren't anything to go crazy about, though I was glad they weren't swimming in lemon juice and dried parsley like at most other gyro places. - He had the Vegetarian Combo ($10.95 for dolmathes, falafel, tabbouleh, baba ghanouj, hummus and rice). I'm not a fan of any of that stuff but he loved it. - If it wasn't for the less than fresh lettuce in the salad plus the excrutiatingly slow service, I'd give this place 5 stars. I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant last night surrounded by a bunch of new friends! I am happy to be turned onto cool new people in a cool new place. Well new to me! I have to say taking care of our large crowd was no easy task and the server did a really good job. We were given a lot of attention by the owners and they seemed to be really thriving. The place was really hoppin' and they kept up with everything. We by no means made this an easy task! The belly dancer was fun and talented and helped to really seal the mood and flavor of the place. It was even more fun to watch a small child watch her. We had some wonderful cheesy bready type thing that was scrumptious and I have reminisced about it several times so far today! I bet it would do wonders for this hang over I've acquired that's another story. The bartender knows what he's doing for sure! I ordered a gyros plate and too be honest the meat was really dry and thus affected the entire plate. I was disappointed but will definitely be back for another go, especially since I didn't get any of the dessert! You must move fast for such delicacies when at a table with 14 women...and David! It was very good but didn't quite live up to the best. But they did have my other favorite - lebna - and I thought it was fantastic. Hit this spot up with a bunch of Yelpees last weekend. The hummus and gyros plate that I had for dinner was pretty darned tasty. I was a wee bit disappointed by the falafel, but everything else was solid. I really, really liked the beer that we had (was it Almaza? I'm drawing a blank). What really made this experience memorable for me, though, were two things - the personalized service by the owners and the performance by the bellydancer. The owners were so attentive and so patient with our huge party. That really goes a long way with me. The entertainment was so awesome! Lily, my toddler, was absolutely entranced by her and followed her around the restaurant, wiggling her little heart out. I was in awe of her abilty to gyrate and have now decided that this is a form of exercise I'd like to attempt. Furthermore, I found it way too funny for words that more than a few of the tattoo artists from Freaky's decided to join everyone for the bellydancing entertainment. The restaurant is warm and inviting, the people are welcoming, and the experience was definitely one I wouldn't mind recreating. Good times. Go check them out. read more

This review will probably read as a love letter, which is appropriate and well-earned. From the minute I walked in, I enjoy the ambiance of the place, and I was greeted quickly and seated by Katy, who wound up being one of the best servers I've had in a good, long while. She answered all of my questions, of which I had many, and was extremely friendly and helpful. I started with hummus, because really, this is a litmus test for me in any restaurant that has it on the menu. The hummus, well... it was probably the best hummus I've ever had, and was accompanied by a big basket of two huge pitas so fresh and hot that I burned myself even trying to eat them right away. I was also impressed by the amount of hummus I got as an appetizer. Too often, I spend $6 and get a plate that looks like someone smeared the thinnest, weakest little spread of hummus on it. This was a generous bowl and I couldn't even finish it. They have a handful of lunch specials and I went with the chicken shawarma. When it came out, it was chock full of chicken cooked with bell peppers and onions and super fragrant! Even the rice that accompanied the meal was particularly well seasoned and tasty. A small salad of onions, tomatoes, and spices came with the meal, as well as a little container of "garlic dip". Now, this dip might even have a more fancy or specific name but I'm going to call it garlic dip. And, if I had my druthers, I would be putting the stuff on everything from breakfast to dessert, it is that amazing. Spicy and powerful and outstanding. I had my leftovers packed up and noticed the desserts. Well, of course, I could not leave without getting some baklava. Then I saw that they had these little homemade cookies , and... Well... I came home with a lot of sweets and a fantastic leftover meal for tonight's dinner. Everything was reasonably priced, especially for lunch. I believe my chicken shawarma lunch was $9, and they also offer beef shawarma, gyro , and several types of kabobs. To say that I'd go back would be an understatement, as I will probably try to find a reason to get over there as soon as possible. Ask for Katy, if you get the chance, because she's awesome. Yum Yum Yum. I don't normally get this far out east on Colfax but I'll drive for this. You know that Colfax has hidden gems, they are just mixed in with a whole lot of mess so its hard to know. I rely on recommendations and in this case it really paid off. I'm not exactly sure what's in the Garlic dip because I swear it tastes stronger than straight garlic. Its delicious. I brought some home and while I smelled of garlic for days, 100% worth it. (I may be ranking this whole place on how much I loved it). I had a lunch size of the beef shwarma. So glad I got the lunch size; plenty of food and cooked just right. It might not be the hippest atmosphere but when you are looking for good hole in the wall food (its nicer than that on the inside really but its not the nice part of Colfax), this is it. read more

My husband says "dinner is a surprise tonight" as we start driving east on Colfax. I was not expecting much...at all...which is probably why this place blew my mind. We had a 4 course meal + wine for $55 (before tip). 1. The garlic dip. OMG. My husband and I LOVE garlic, so we loved this, but be prepared for some HEAVY garlic flavor. And the pita...whew! 2. It was our first time here and I asked for some help with the menu. The very personable owner stopped by the table to talk through the menu, and even offered us a free appetizer to try (Zaatar). I'm pretty sure the owner stopped by every table at some point--very nice guy, you can tell he is passionate about the place. 3. Meals come with salads. 4. My husband got the lamb shank, and I had the saffron shrimp (which sounded seasonal, based on the server's comments). Both incredible and flavorful 5. Dessert--there's no dessert menu (the owner: "I am the dessert menu." He then talks through all the desserts on display). I love baklava and couldn't resist. We will definitely be back. I just love unassuming, casual places like this where you can get great food. Did I mention there was a belly dancer? Went here due to the high yelp reviews and was not let down--thanks, guys! I got the vegetarian combo and my partner in dining got one of the specials--mousaka. Deliciousness was had all around. The baba ganoush was the 7th ring of heaven. The garlic dip is spicy. The waitstaff was really attentive and nice (my dinner-mate was having trouble reading the specials when we first sat down and a man I took to be the owner came over immediately to describe them to us.) I will definitely be going back and may even have to add a star. So good I'm drooling just thinking about it. read more

I would probably go to this restaurant more often if it were just a little bit more affordable. Two people can't get out of here for less than $30. The upside of Phoenician Kabob is that the food is fresh and delicious. The owner makes the meals and delivers them to you himself, which leads me to the downside... Both times that I have been here, the service has been so-so. Yesterday, one of the patrons, who must be a regular, told me to take a seat anywhere, and gave me a menu. The owner came out (not immediately) and took our order (he asked me if I wanted ice in my water - a little odd) and then my boyfriend and I had to wait awhile to get our food. After we got our food (which was beautifully orchestrated on the plate), we were pretty much left to our own devices. We could have used a couple of more swings by the table from the server for refills on our drinks and more pita bread. My advice - call your order in and pick up food to go. This is the best Baba Ganouj that I've had in Denver - the food doesn't disappoint. This place isn't about atmosphere or service, it's about the food. read more

Listen, I don't just eat at any old middle eastern place. I had given up on middle eastern restaurants in Denver after lackluster food at Jerusalem's (it got rave reviews from all my friends). I've had falafel pitas on the streets of old Jerusalem and Tel Aviv since I was small so it's not like I don't have falafel cred. And, P-Kabob was great! Falafel and hummus were fantastic, pitas were flat (not like my faves in Israel), but overall the food was very good. My hubby said his lamb was great. It actually didn't take that long to get the food, but we did order apps based on what I heard from the reviews. Plus, they have REALLY LONG booths...you could probably fit 3-4 people on EACH side! If you have a fear of vampires - this is the place for you. You will never find on hanging out here. Oh how I love the garlic dip, let me count the ways. My co-workers at the afternoon meeting, not so much. Be prepared to taste the garlic for the rest of the day and perhaps not go to the sauna as it might start coming out of your pores. Can't say I didn't warn you. I love their lunch special. I've only ever ordered the chicken shawarma. It is served with salad and rice and the garlic sauce/dip. It's only $9 and well worth the price. On a previous visit I got to try the Zaatar. I now try to have this every time I go back. I think they have some of the best pitas in town. Service is not always the fastest, it is some of the friendliest. Parking has never been an issue, plenty of street parking nearby. read more

I love that this restaurant is in the neighborhood, and it truly has the neighborhood feel too! A good local spot with great flavors, and outstanding food. If this review were for food only I would give it 10 stars! The salads are incredible- fresh ingredients, good flavors and overall delicious. The gyro meat is perfectly seasoned. The homemade bread is to die for. I love the garlic sauce, and the hummus is wonderful. We've always had outstanding food here. Now for the bad news...the service is absolutely horrible. They don't acknowledge you when you get inside the restaurant so you spend your first 15 minutes trying to track down someone to get you seated. They also either rush you to make a decision with the menu, or forget about you for another 15-20 minutes, with no drinks, apps or anything. It's a busy place, but seems they have staffing issues if they cannot keep up with the tables. Last time we were there they forgot our drink, forgot our main course, there was no silverware, they offered to bring more bread and then forgot. Horrible- when you go out to eat you want to have an overall good experience. I'm not one to complain about the small stuff, but this was bad. Please work on your staffing issues so you can handle all the lovely people who want to taste your delicious food. I'm going to take a break from here for a while, and fingers crossed they will hire more help in the meantime. read more

Mediterranean food is one of those ethnic foods I either want so badly I'd promise my firstborn just for some shish kabob or I could walk right by and not even bat an eye. Luckily, when I'm in the mood, I know I can just hop on the 15 and zoom on down Colfax to this place (it's sooooo hard to spell, so I'll let the listing tell you what it's called). I've eaten here a couple of times and here's what they do astonishingly well: gyros. Mmmmmmmmm. Here's the twist: Whoever the chef is loves garlic more than they love breathing, because there is so much in almost all of the dips and dishes that it can actually make some of the food spicy! Unfortunately for this place, my stomach and garlic haven't really gotten on so well for the last, oh, 8 years or so, so every other dish I've had here that involved a dip has resulted in side splitting indigestion and a night of groans. This place would easily be four stars if they just took it back several notches on the garlic. read more

Amazing and authentic Lebanese food. They were a bit pricier that I can afford on a regular basis, but an occasional visit is definitely worth it. The lamb kabobs I had were cooked to perfection with just the right amount of spice. The rice was so fragrant and the bread melted in your mouth with each amazing dip of hummus. Wow!! Great homemade authentic Lebanese/egyptian food! BEST in the area!! Excellent homemade bread made in a special oven that was imported from Lebanon! How cool is that!!! The owners take true pride in the food and service they deliver here. It's their passion. They have secret family recipes for everything. I don't like lamb but I actually ate an entire lamb chop here bc the lamb flavor wasn't strong and the spices were so interesting. It's like real middle eastern lamb, which is a rare find. You can even watch the guy making bread from scratch and putting it in the special oven. And it's so wonderful bc it comes out warm. It goes great w the baba ganouj which is absolutely the best I've ever had. They make everything from scratch here and it really is evident. You know what else they do really well here? The garlic dip. It's really the best garlic dip I've ever had with the perfect balance of garlic and lemon and salt and everything. I put it on everything and I usually don't eat the stuff anywhere else. It's so good omg. I even get extra to take home and put on fish or chicken as a seasoning!! I highly recommend this place. All my middle eastern friends (and there are many) agree that phonecian kabob is the absolute best in Denver. read more

Good ole Phoenician Kabob... I've been eating here and getting take out for ages. I love this place for a few reasons, which I'll enumerate here: 1 - SPEED. They are soo quick. For both the dine in and take out service. Food is ready likkity-split and that's a huge win for parents (like Ladyhawk and I). Dinner at a restaurant is kind of a countdown to some implosion with kids and this place handles it wonderfully :) 2 - TASTE. I love Gyros. They do it well. That is all. 3 - SERVICE. Great Mediterranean food is hard to find, but NOT at Phoenician Kabob! This place is wonderful! By far the best Hummus & Shawarma I've had in Denver. I also love the chicken Kabob, Greek salad, and fried cauliflower! On top of the food, the atmosphere is great. Don't you miss restaurants with real table clothes? Phoenician Kabob has them! It's curtains & dark walls give it an intimate, upscale feel, but the staff is always friendly & casual. The owner has come to our table several times & even given us free appetizers before! My boyfriend and I decided to try this place out because I didn't need any comic books and I thnk he had to go try out an enail later that eveing so there wasn't time to be driving all over the place for Middle Eastern Food. A locally renowned brand architect had told my boyfriend that Phoenician Kabob was the bomb so we headed over. IMO he was wrong and I'm going to remember that. We started with baba ghanoush and I have to say it was pretty weak. Not much flavor. Our meal also included a chopped tomato, cucumber, and onion salad. This was ten times weaker than the baba ghanoush. The salad was completely without flavor and that is hard to do when you've got raw onions involved. The raw onions tasted mostly like crunchy water with a hint of onion flavor. For our entrees, my boyfriend got a pile of meat. I know he thought one meat was quite good and one was meh. My chicken skewers were good and I liked the rice. It had a nice flavor and was fluffy. The garlic sauce side saved everything. Another thing I am going to remember forever from this evening is that my boyfriend told me I look fatter without his glasses. I suppose I can logically understand that it is his astigmatism riddled eyeballs doing this and not me personally getting fatter, but still it was not what a lady likes to hear. I came in around lunch time (12:30) on a Tues, and Mike, my waiter, acknowledged my presence rather quickly and allowed me to sit anywhere: always a good sign. I placed my order immediately for a falafel sandwich with their homemade hot sauce and a side order of tahini, and then got up to wash my hands. I have to admit, this place looks a bit random as I was driving up, but I wholeheartedly can vouch for this place and their food after having only one meal here. I eat falafel sandwiches all across the US, and this eatery left a great impression with me. As I returned to my table, my drink was already waiting for me, and Mike informed me the sandwich would be out shortly. When it arrived not more than 6 minutes later, I could tell it was well worth the wait. The pita bread, as Mike kindly informed me, is baked fresh for each order (and I could tell). The sandwich smelled delicious and the bread melted with each bite. The homemade hot sauce was clutch as well, offering a nice kick to the crispy on the outside, but moist on the inside falafel balls. Read: Prepared properly. Even the music was relaxing, allowing for an environment that was uber welcoming. I came in for a quiet lunch and got just that, but also dining were two coworkers on one side with their laptop and work sprawled out, and a group of six that seemed to be holding a great conversation on the other side. Deliciously Delicious... Humas is great, kabobs hello heaven! They have this rich garlic butter that's worth each and every calorie. My hubby and I stopped in and were very pleased. Brick over baked flat bread was made fresh to order. The sauces were great. I can't wait to go back and try some mire of the menu. And while the bar is a bit lacking there are wines to be had to compliment your meal. That's the point of Greek food anyways right? Lovely, kind, warm, tasty experience. Did I mention they deliver? All I can say is YUMMY! Everything we tasted was wonderful. I do think the wine list needs some improvement and the wines were a little costly...but other than that I have no complaints! Service was a tad slow for the restaurant being almost empty...had to wait for everything. But the food more than made up for that. Will be dining here again soon! read more

I must have passed by this place hundreds of times in the past year and I didn't even notice it. I feel pretty stupid, becuase I would often whine to my wife about the fact that we had to go all the way across town to get any decent Middle Eastern. So what a pleasant surprise when I stumbled upon it last week. This place has some pretty damn good food. It's a little pricey, but the indgredients are fresh and the service is excellent. Pros include the baba ganoush, the kafta kabob -not dry, the gyros, the lamb, baklava. Cons are no fresh pita and the hummus was just OK. I will go back. But I really hope they start making fresh pitas. I mean, for 14-15 buck entrees and cloth napkins, I think we deserve it. read more
