Very good falafel, eggplant was decent too but too expensive $9 for 6 slices. Service is very good, it's a casual place so nothing fancy to expect. Entrees are large portions, Greek salad was quite small portion.

Best middle eastern in Denver. Great service as is the custom. Wonderful food. And easy street parking. My fave when visiting.

Solid middle eastern place with a pretty extensive menu. I have ordered a few items for take-out on different occasions. My consistent experience with this place is that the service is stellar in this family run place and the prices are reasonable for the current climate. The food is flavored well and consistent but not always the most tender cuts of meat. I do enjoy supporting this place and they could be a 5-star review with slightly better cuts of meat. I personally would not mind paying the difference in price for a better product.

Newish to the neighborhood and decided to give Phoenician a try. We ordered to-go and had a couple of drinks while we waited. Gyro Sandwich and Greek Salad w/ Gyro. Ambiance of the restaurant was cozy, yet open and family-oriented. It was very clean and the bar top was glistening. My only complaint is that we ordered a side of pita, but when we got home we didn't have it. We weren't charged for it, but still disappointing.

Front counter. Fairly empty today. Sadly.

Sadly disappointed. I was looking forward to trying this place with my half-Armenian mother-in-law who thought this place would live up to its star reviews. It was almost empty when we arrived on Saturday evening at 5:00 PM and the employees seemed eager to be helpful. Our server was very sweet. We ordered grape leaves and garlic dip with pita for appetizers and the grape leaves were fresh, warm and tasty. It was served with a yogurt dip which had little flavor but the garlic dip had ALL the garlic in Denver whipped into its fluffiness. It was actually too garlicky (I can't believe I'm saying that) but I added it to all the rest of the food I ordered which helped a little. While the pita bread looked freshly made, it was too hard and crispy to enjoy, like some ingredient was missing or the flour was old. My "salad" was comprised of chunked cucumber & tomatoes with a sprinkle of red onions but no dressing. Kinda bland. The 3-kebab plate I ordered came out smelling terrific and the rice was fabulously fragrant but the koftka was dry and over cooked as was the chicken kebab. The lamb kebab was tender and tasty however. The hummus was beautiful to behold but was sadly flavorless. It's like they forgot to season this batch when making it. A band began to set up prior us leaving, so perhaps it was good that we left. I really wanted to like this place but regrettably I cannot recommend it.

I was excited to try after watching a documentary on the Somm channel about that specific winemaker. The wine was delicious. Additionally, I was so happy to see small boutique wine from the Santa Barbara area like Amevive and A Tribute to Grace. Our server Yvonne guided our menu choices thoughtfully and enhanced our experience with excellent service. We started with watermelon feta salad with baby cilantro, walnuts, and harissa oil. The watermelon was cool, sweet, and crisp and the flavors balanced perfectly. If you are a pickle lover you must get the pickles. I think I will be dreaming of them. The pickled cabbage, okra, califlower and snap peas were just the best! The pitas were puffy, but not hollow, and warm. There was also an olive oil dipping sauce that complemented everything. Star of the show for me was the forgaged mushrooms and hummus. These were the most delicious mushrooms and snoothest hummus I have ever experienced, and I think there might be magicians in the kitchen. Our other dishes were cabbage and eggplant. Both taste explosions, done masterfully with a sauce, color and texture. This food is truly incredible, highly recommend. I am in Denver for work, anytime I travel back to Denver I will for sure return to Safta.

Everything feels meant to be explored rather than just eaten. And the passion fruit pavlova? Absolutely get it. I am NOT a soda kind of gal, but the strawberry cardamom soda was the exception. So unexpected, refreshing, and delicious. This isn't just a place to grab something to eat--it's an experience. Go hungry, order a bunch of things, share everything, and experiment. Definitely a must-try.

I won't say which, but boy, was it a letdown. The falafel were like little hockey pucks and the pita were like cardboard, flat and stale-tasting. I didn't think you could screw up pita. Only the hummus was passable. All this to say that I have been SPOILED by moving within walking distance of the Byblos in Alamo Placita, which is where a little taco place used to be. It's in a sweet little spot with patio seating on the corner of 4th and Corona, but the draw is really the food. I can't vouch for the meat dishes as a vegan, but WOW is their pita soft, fresh and flavorful, and they replenish it readily. Their hummus is excellent, their baba ghanoush is the best I've had since leaving the greater Boston area (with its abundance of outstanding ethnic restaurants) and the eggplant moussaka is fantastic. Plus they put this fully vegan cream dressing on the garden salad that is out of this world. Byblos has completely ruined me for a lot of other restaurants. As I'm writing this I think I've talked myself into going there for lunch!
