This is two month review! I have it now wired to full sound system (4 channel and sub amp) through its RCA outputs, still working awesome! Clean/undistorted sound. Also bonus, the voice command button on steering wheel activates siri when using car play! I only say that because my 5th gen 4runner (2021) that comes with carplay from factory, button does not call siri on stock radio. Still enjoying gigantic display! Only reason i am keeping at 4star: car comes with multiple usb output. Headunit will not engage in carplay (even if i am using correct designated usb wire for carplay), if another iphone is connected at same time to other output. Fix: just use one USB! read more

If I could give this company no stars I would. Even if you know what module to order for your vehicle their company will send you a thousand emails asking for make, model, and year. The chat is worthless and the AI bot keeps repeating the same answer. Calling their number on the website or email is answered by AI if they answer at all. Even when you send the information the AI bot keeps sending you emails asking for the same information. I placed my order on the 26th of May 26, and the module finally shipped after I replied to the repeating email from made up AI names from emails. On 11/26/25 I placed an order with Phoenix Radio on their website for my 2019 Ford F150 for their advertised 12.1 inch screen. I paid for the radio and received an order number. The Phoenix Radio website stated there is a 1 to 2 week time from order to delivery. Phoenix Radio sent me a confirmation number and requested additional details and photos of my present radio configuration. I supplied them with all the requested information. Fast forward.... 12/11/25... No radio nor email updates! I phoned Phoenix Radio and spoke with a Filipino woman. This woman told me the radio had just passed testing and was ready to be shipped. She could not provide me with an actual shipping date nor reason for the delay. I requested to speak to a supervisor and was told one would contact me after they arrive to work at 10 AM. 12 PM and no phone call. I again phoned Phoenix Radio and spoke with a Filipino male. I advised him of the issue and told him I would be leaving for a vacation and I would not be back until the beginning of 2026. I asked if they could rush shipping to arrive before 12/15 as that is a day I am leaving for my vacation. I told them that after that date there would not be anyone to sign for, nor receive the radio. I also told him if left on the doorstep for three weeks, the radio had a good chance of being stolen. I told him I wanted to speak to a supervisor about my missing radio. He placed me on hold for over 20 minutes!!! I again found Phoenix Radio and spoke with the same Filipino male. His attitude was now rude and surly. He now told me the company did not have a unit in stock for my truck!!! How could this be?? I told him his company held my payment funds for over two weeks when their company did not have a radio in stock. I told them this was fraud! When I ordered the radio and Phoenix Radio took my payment, that indicated to me they had a radio in stock as their website implied!! Meanwhile, I am incurring daily storage fees while supposedly "escalated" support calls--promised to occur within 24 to 48 hours--consistently fail to materialize. More troubling, I have been repeatedly misled and given false assurances. During my most recent interaction with Katherine, she began recording a Google Meet session. According to my state law, I am entitled to a copy of that recording. Katherine promised to provide it to me--and never did. I highly recommend management review this recording themselves to fully understand the interaction. Furthermore, when I demanded escalation to a supervisor, Katherine assured me a supervisor would call within an hour. No such call was ever made. Another blatant lie that only erodes confidence in their customer service. The technical "solution" offered by Ruby--to connect the backup camera to the ACC wire--was absurd and clearly demonstrated to be ineffective. My technician tested it and confirmed the camera itself works perfectly fine when activated manually. The core problem, which I have communicated repeatedly, is identifying the correct wire to trigger the backup camera. The wire labeled as the trigger in the documentation does not activate the camera. Pressing the "camera" button confirms the unit and camera functionality, but fails to resolve the essential issue: the unit does not respond to the actual backup trigger signal. To this point, I have invested over $1,800 in technician labor and storage fees. At this stage, I have instructed my tech to methodically map every single pin and deduce their actual functions just to determine if there is even a functional backup camera trigger on this unit at all. This is an utterly unacceptable way to conduct business--especially when the product description boldly claims: Compatibility: This Android Navigation Radio Can Be Installed in Toyota Tundra 2007 - 2013 and Sequoia 2008 - 2022. Very poor business practice. I purchased an open box product that the company could not make function properly for my vehicle, so they took the product back as a return. When I originally received the open box purchase I noticed one of the accessories had a bit of a tear on the sheathing of the wire, however, I wasn't installing that component. Additionally, it was so minor of a cosmetic issue that it didn't affect the wires that would be under the dash when installed. I considered it inconsequential and didn't complain as I had received a discount already for it being an open box product. However, when the company received the returned product they claimed I had damaged the wire and billed me for replacement. I worked with them for over 2 months waiting for them to complete their evaluation while also explaining what occurred. Their final evaluation was to claim that I lied about not damaging the cable and billed me the expense of the replacement part. In the end this was not about the money, which was minor in nature, but that the company was willing to call me a liar to make an extra $15. If that is their price of customer service then I question how much they are actually interested in helping the customers. read more

They called when expected and through their trouble shooting I was able to get it resolved. It was a loose connector at the back of the stereo which was 100% my fault. Great experience, resolved all my issues and was very patient when needed to be to resolve the problem.

"Full refund" is a lie. I purchased a touchscreen for my 2013 Explorer. The unit arrived in pristine condition, yet the left audio channel was blown out. It took over a month for it to arrive since it was shipped from China. It was explained by customer service that shipping would only take 2 weeks door to door so that was another lie. The reasoning was due to programming and configuration by the factory. However when the unit arrived it contained a CAN BUS decoder board for a Mustang although Phoenix claimed it was the right board for my Explorer. They ended up sending the correct CAN BUS board and only then did the unit power up. The car was unable to communicate with the screen because the software was not set correctly to work with my car. I thought it was programmed and configured by factory? More problems as well after tech support got it working. As mentioned in the beginning, the left channel of the unit was blown out. Android auto also didn't work correctly. It glitched constantly and made it impossible to use. The built in GPS never worked correctly which tech support blamed on my "poor antenna location" which was literally front center of the dash, can't get much better than that. When it came time to return the unit, Phoenix initially denied the return stating I didn't try hard enough to work with tech support although I spend upwards of 6 hours with them over 3 weeks to solve all these problems. After I pressed the issue, they finally allowed the return and paid for the return label. I sent the unit back, but they wouldn't refund the "Shipping Protection by Route" which was compulsory during the checkout process. They have since removed that from their checkout. Additionally, no where in their terms and conditions does it state that shipping protection is non refundable. When I originally consulted with Phoenix about the unit, customer service provided a checkout link for me to use so that I got the proper unit for my vehicle. This is why the shipping protection was added. I requested them to refund the protection but they argued saying "this is a 3rd party protection and we already sent them the money"... I'm sorry guys, but if the terms and conditions doesn't explain what is or is not refunded, everything gets refunded. It is not my problem that you already spent the money. One could easily argue that they setup a "3rd party company" which is their own just to collect on these type of shipping protection scams. Customer service was not helpful, tech support was very helpful when you could get them on the phone. Overall, my experience was terrible and I can only hope that they improve, but given the other post's around the internet, that won't happen and this review will get swept under the rug by them just like all the others. read more

We been trying to get Phoenix Automotive do to the right thing. They sent us a defective product in July. there has been very long delays on their part to respond to this issue. We finally received a label and the package has been returned ONLY to find out they want to charge us a 15% RESTOCKING FEE. 1) How can you suggest that you are going to restock a defective item and 2) how unethical is this company to penalize their customers for a defective product!!! where are you ethics. I noticed a lack of reviews but decided to trust them anyway and they totally conned me out of half of what I payed. The Tesla-style head unit for the 4Runner seemed awesome but is a cheap Android head unit with poor screen quality. I was actually willing to overlook that if it worked. It did not. The screen that was shipped to me would shut off any time it was overwhelmed and it got overwhelmed simply by clicking into CarPlay, going into setting, opening any app, etc. I gave it some time and did some work on my end thinking it had to be something I did wrong at install. After 5+ tech appointments where I updated firmware and reset the device they agreed to do a repair (my first contact to them was about 60 days after purchase) and sent me mine back repaired. They sent it back and could not tell me exactly what they changed and after another 3+ hours of install, it had the same issue. I told them immediately and then they agreed to send a replacement (after yet another tech appointment had to scheduled). The replacement unit was even more used than the one I sent them, it still had greasy fingerprints on the buttons and screen, and they sent the wrong USB port option for my car which they don't offer to snag from their website as a one-off purchase. After that unit also failed to work correctly, I asked for my money back. They offered me 60% of what I paid and I had to pay shipping (approximately about 20% of what I paid) - so for 40% back I could send in the unit to them. Even though I have yet to receive a single unit from them that ever operated as expected. Absolute trash company, do not waste your time. I found an amazing head unit through Hamilton Motor Company that you should check out if you have a 4Runner. The quality is top-tier and it's almost the same price as this cheap trash that they are peddling as high quality equipment for your car. read more

Buyer beware. I purchased a unit for my Yukon to install. I noticed that the installation manual link on the website didn't work. When I contacted Customer Service, they mentioned that they don't have an installation manual for my vehicle - a 2017 GMC Yukon. The package arrived within about a week. The box looked pretty rough and looked like it had been used multiple times. Lots of tape that had been cut open and retaped on the outside of the box, and cut open, retaped, etc. I opened the box to find the unit damaged, the knob broken, and the corner of the unit poking thru the side of the box. The box used for shipping was too small for the actual unit so it couldn't lay flat and was at an angle so the corner was forced into the side of the box. There wasn't much plastic wrapping and more than half of the bubbles popped on the wrapping so there wasn't much protection for the unit. I contacted customer service with lots of pictures of the damaged unit but they wanted me to file a shipping claim. The issue wasn't a shipping issue, it wasn't packaged correctly which led to the damage. I had to go back and forth with them to return the unit. Once it was returned, they told me that it was damaged and only gave a partial refund. Of course, it was damaged, this is why I want to return it. I keep going back and forth with them to get a full refund and am still fighting with them. I would stay away from this company. I think they are sending out broken units hoping that shipping insurance will take care of it. read more
