It's a few minutes east of the 5 freeway, two-thirds of the way to Sacramento from Los Angeles. They had such a good selection that we were able to get an action figure to be given as a Christmas gift from here. They had some obscure first editions too. Very cool!

They have used and brand new books, but buying used that are still in in mint condition and low price is amazing. We were told that they accept used books of any kind and will get a lifetime credit that never expires. Once you get a credit and buys a used book, the price will be less 50% from the written price. This is an awesome deal. We will surely come back here.

They just don't have too many bookstores left like this one. As the name suggests, you can bring your gently used books in and they will keep a record of them, and you will receive a discount of roughly half off of whatever you decide to buy in exchange for bringing in your old books. This turns out to be a great value considering the good condition and broad variety of the books that they carry. We can always find something good to read, and the price is definitely always easy on the pocketbook. The lovely people who work here are very well informed. I was looking for a classic by Pearl S Buck, and she knew exactly where it was located in the store. I have confidence in these guys, and I know that I can check with them before I go look elsewhere. A must see for any avid reader or bibliophile.

I was in Morgan Hill to meet up with some friends recently.  I was early to the event, so I had…read moretime to check out BookSmart before they closed on a Saturday.  Nestled in a busy shopping center, there's plenty of parking in the lot (even though it was a busy weekend afternoon/evening).   While the store isn't the largest, there are plenty of books adorning the walls and lining the shelves in the middle aisles.  There are plenty of the normal best sellers available, but also plenty of treasured finds.  Though I only spent 20 minutes in browsing the stacks, I stumbled upon an independently published sports book as well as 2 childrens books I haven't found elsewhere, all of which will make great holiday gifts.   Coincidentally, the day I visited was also BookSmart's 30th anniversary party!  They had complimentary glasses of champaign as well as a photo booth for their regular customers (both of which I politely declined).  It's great to see an independent bookstore thriving in this community.  The next time I'm in the area, I will stop by and take more time to check out the inventory!

Are you kidding me? I couldn't recommend this place enough! First off, the woman behind the…read morecounter, Marcy, was absolutely phenomenal. She was extremely helpful and beyond kind. I'm so sad I don't live closer because I'd be in that shop weekly! Secondly, they carry products by small businesses - candles, stickers, bookmarks, jewelry, body products, and of course books - which is so amazing!! And third, they have a great selection of books. From young adult to horror, mystery, thrillers, and of course children's books. It is on the smaller side but it's exactly what it needs to be. I hope they continue to flourish. I can't wait to visit again. Also, they have a book club - just ask about it.
