My dad didnt like his first dish and was allowed to try something else without paying. I ordered the reuben with extra sauerkraut and grilled onions. It was delicious. This review is for Oktoberfest 2014. Like many others we saw the huge balloon in the sky advertising Oktoberfest. Being that I love German beer we decided to go check things out. I didn't realize how big of a deal this is until we got there and had to park at Hardin Honda and walk over because the regular and overflow parking were full. Not that big of a deal. We got to the gates and realized we had to pay to get in. Ok, whatever. Then we walk around and notice that we have to buy tickets to buy beer. But why can't I just give you money and you give me beer? What's with all this ticket business? Or, just let me pay a flat rate and I can get 4 ounce pours or something. We buy some tickets and realize we paid $8 for a beer. That's not gonna work considering I can go to Total Wine and get the same beer for at least $2 less. We get our beers and walk around a bit. That took a whole 5 minutes so my bf decided to get a bratwurst. He did say the bratwurst was delicious so that was a plus. The dancing was cool and seeing so many people dressed in lederhosen and enjoying the German culture was cool. Other than that, I don't feel like I need to go back and spend all that money to walk around for 10 minutes. read more

Came here for the Bruery's 3rd Anniversary party. The party was awesome...the food provided by the Phoenix club was not. :( BFF ate a sausage and liked it. I tried to eat the nachos and I immediately threw them out. Gross. Their french fries were ok. But, I didn't come to eat...I came to drink! I LOVE this Oktoberfest venue... Literally, the best venue/festival in Orange County. The workers are friendly and the food is pretty good. There are also vendors that sell kitschy Oktoberfest items. The best reason to come to this location is the fact that there is a live band, plenty of beer/cocktail stations and amazing German food... Potato pancakes, bratwurst, pretzels, and even funnel cakes (not super German, but still pretty delish). Only advice is to bring cash b/c they charge for everything in "tickets" and you can only pay for tickets with cash. So avoid CRAZY ATM fees and bring cash from your local bank. read more

Happy hour bittburger,no more than $5. Goulash is delicious although I wish the kitchen added more beef such as before. I always get the spicy sausage plate with a side of spatzle and it never disappoints. The sausage is huge and totally yummy and spicy. We frequent this place before the duck games because it is walking distance from the Honda center. Also if you come into the pheonix club after a duck game and bring your tickets they give you happy hour prices. Always good service! read more

This is about the best Oktoberfest experience you are likely to have, short of traveling to Munich! The food is authentic (simple and delicious), beer is excellent (they serve cocktails too), and the service is always friendly. Their wursts are the best (bad pun)! And everyone seems to be having a good time! Personally, I look forward to it every year almost as much as Christmas. Unlike some other venues, there's plenty of room to roam and they don't pack you in like sardines. The crowd can get a little boisterous at times, but it is still very much a clean, safe environment. The crowd is also several notches above Alpine Village and Old World....if you've ever been to either place you will know what I mean...(gross) - enough said. I've been to several other functions here in the ballroom and they always seem to do a really nice job. The restaurant is good for solid, tasty german food and the Bierstube (bar) has a pretty authentic Bavarian quality. Just go and see for yourself! read more

Phoenix Club has a great Oktoberfest. Great selection of beer (duh) and vendors with fun German trinkets. I've been here as a kid for Christmas and Easter fun as well... always a good time. Last time I was here, was for the Bruery's Reserve Society's St. Pat's party. Food was really good, they had portobello mushrooms for us non-meat eating folks. And super yummy spicy mustard! This review is for Oktober Fest 2010. I haven't been in years and always thought Huntington Oktober Fest SUCKED. So I was pleasantly surprised. It was kinda strange as a daughter of an immigrant and being Lithuanian, I was really immersed in childhood nostalgia and an experience that really reminded me of my grandparents it was pretty cool... The food was delicious, and the Germaness was AWESOME! The cleanliness, the efficiency of the long lines, the beer selection, the large tent with terrible entertainment. The 80 year old dudes serving the food were way more efficient than any worker at Taco Bell. The funnel cake was literally the best I have ever had. The bratwurst was so good, not too fatty like the fair. The pretzels on steroids were so yummy. Potato pancakes were ok, not my grandmas... They were so German efficient that a line to the women's bathroom appeared 30 min. long but was 5 min. and when I went to wash my hands there was a lady cleaning and disinfecting the sinks to make sure they clean, OMG, love it! Pretty wholesome OC event that can entertain just about anyone, highly recommend! read more

We went there for lunch was wasn't very impressed with the menu choices. The menu seemed more American pub that German pub. The special of the day was fish and chips and clam chowder. We sat down and the busboy took our drink order. Asked us if we were having cervesas this afternoon. Kind of killed the authentic German vibe I was looking for. Regardless, we ordered our German cervesas and started to look over the menu. In an effort to save the German vibe, we ordered a Jaegerschnitzel and a Sauerbraten. Both dishes were average at best. I went here for a friends 40th birthday party. We went for the Sunday brunch buffet and the German food here is out of this world!!! Apparently my dad had been going here for years and I never knew about this gem. The schnitzel was awesome, the prime rib carving station per my bf was so good, the sweet pancakes were like little pockets full of heaven and some sort of sweet cream cheese, all the food was soooo good. I was so full at the end of this brunch buffet by the time we left, all i needed to do was grab my ankles and roll home, oy! The waitress however, was elderly and a tad on the cranky side and ran a very tight ship. She was not very happy about us bringing in gifts (that were alcohol & we had not intention of openning) but she was watching all of us like a hawk! It was kind of comical at the same time. Came in with my family to try something new for an early Father's Day celebration. Unfortunately, our experience did not turn out as pleasant as we expected it would be. We dined on a Friday night, so it was expected to be busy and we were prepared ahead of time. Our server that evening was Robin. She greeted us and took our drink orders and came back with everyone's drinks. As we waited approximately 20 minutes to order our food, we saw staff members pass our table without acknowledging us or asking if we needed anything. Our server eventually takes our order and the food comes out in a timely fashion. Everyone was enjoying their meals, until about halfway through our dining our server drops off some take home boxes on our table. Okay, so we think she's just being proactive and think nothing of it. When it comes time for the check to arrive, our server would pass our table and at one point was nowhere to be found. When we were finally able to flag down our server for our check, she flipped through her tab book, closed it, and attempted to assist another guest at the bar! Honestly, we felt that was very unprofessional on our server's part. We pretty much had it at that point and had to approach her at the bar so we could get our bill. Worst customer service ever! My gf & I have been going to Oktoberfest here for years and we always have a great time! It makes it nicer that my gf can score us free tickets! I've been to the one in Carson (ehh) and Big Bear (pretty good actually) but we've enjoyed the Oktoberfest here. The food is good and the oompah band puts out great music, be it traditional german songs or more current dance tunes, everyone seems to be having a great time and the dance floor is always full! What I like about the Phoenix Club Oktoberfest is that as the band takes a break, they have other entertainment like Bavarian folk dancers, beer drinking and sausage eating contests. They also have little shops and a pellet rifle range. What I didn't like is that this year, you had to buy drink and food tickets. That added another line for you to queue and you have to plan your meal so you don't end up with extra tickets, which costs $5/ticket. The staff were very friendly and helpful though. I've never been to Germany but we've sat next to a couple visiting from Germany a few years ago and they said that this is how they do Oktoberfest in Munich. The important thing is that it's a fun place to celebrate Oktoberfest! Now the question I would like to ask: "Do they do the chicken dance in Germany?" read more

Had a great time at Oktoberfest. The beer line was not overly long and the food was decent. Several tables were building beer cup towers that were very impressive. Me and my friends all dressed up in authentic garb to be festive and people were requesting photo ops with us left and right haha! Wish they stayed open after midnight on the weekends, that there were more regular women's restrooms (as I try to avoid Porta pottys at all cost) and that there was more German music. I came here during Bass Bash while the 2017 NAMM show was happening at Anaheim Convention Center. The concert headlined Bass player lead bands. I had been to these annual concerts before at other facilities but this was the first time seeing it here. I mentioned all of that because, any venue hosting bass players, and especially bass players with their bands has to have excellent acoustics in order to satisfy a bass player at center stage with band members trying to play over their leader enough to be heard and still keep their jobs as backup. This facility has been the best host so far. It was not only the acoustics, but the ample free parking, easy check-in, great food and reasonably priced drinks with table service, all made it the best experience I've had at BassBash.com to date. read more

I'm tempted to give their Oktoberfest festival 5 stars based on the number of women wearing revealing traditional German outfits, but there are a number of notable downsides that would prevent me from doing so. I came here for a friend's birthday last weekend, and it turned out to be more of a zoo than I expected. Parking was easy to find and free, but the lot looks like it can fill up quickly, so if you're arriving later in the evening you might be out of luck. It costs $5 to get in, though it looked like they were doing such a poor job of watching the entrance that I could have just walked right in. Here's the annoying part: you have to buy coupons to use for food/drink. And they're $5/each. So, you basically have to guess what you might want to eat based on what the menu tells you each thing costs. Now, I know it's not like I can't go back up to buy more tickets later, but I bought 4 and used 2 on a bratwurst and beer. Then, after lots of mingling and conversation, I had to go and found I still had 2 tickets I wasn't going to use. Since you can't return them for a refund, I had to sell them to two people in our group. I don't know what's wrong with just paying for your food/drink directly, especially since some of the food they've got definitely isn't worth $5. The brat I got was decent, but the rolls they were using sucked. They were the type of bland, generic rolls you'd find on special at Ralph's. It was 1 coupon for the brat, or for 2 I could get sauerkraut and potato salad. So, you're essentially paying another $5 for a couple of sides. Tops I'd go on that would be $7, and based on the quality even THAT is pushing it. I don't know what kind of beer I got, something German. They had a bunch of stuff on tap, but when I was asked what I wanted I told the guy "anything but Bud Light" (why they'd offer such crap among real beers is a mystery to me). Regardless, the beer I got kinda sucked so maybe next time I should pay slightly more attention. I sampled one of my friend's latkes, and they were crispy and delicious when paired with apple sauce. It's far too crowded in here, and it's FULL of creepy guys who have no clue how to hit on women. One guy actually walked up to my friend (she was wearing one of the aforementioned outfits, and she's got a big rack) and he said, "Has anyone ever told you yum yum?", and then he asked to take pictures with her. I then spent half the night shooting glares at every other douche with too much alcohol in his system who didn't understand the subtle art of checking out a nice pair. Seriously, guys, this approach will get you nowhere. Hell, I'm a guy and I've got enough sense to know women don't fall for that crap. Once the evening descended into complete madness, replete with drunk fat chicks trying (unsuccessfully) to build a beer cup pyramid and guys spilling their brew all over everyone else while overtly ogling every women with a full chest, I decided it was time to hit the road. It was fun for a while, but nothing made me feel like I need to come back for a repeat visit. read more

I went to Oktoberfest here a couple years ago. This is where I fell in love with schnitzel and sauerkraut. I still haven't found better! And I've looked:) I wasn't a beer drinker but the person I went with had a blast and enjoyed the beer:) they're very friendly and supportive of military!
