Their dessert tastes really good but it's a little bit pricey and I strongly recommend people to eat it right after buying it. I bought the custard sampler a couple times just to have a minimum charge of $10 to use my credit card and I waited til the next day to eat the custards and they always tasted a little bit sour :( read more

I love their mixed fruit with tapioca drink! And when I'm in the area (all the way from Cerritos) I make sure to stop by Phoenix and get some and satisfy my craving! Today was no exception... Unfortunately, today WAS an exception. Don't get me wrong, the drink was still oh so good and refreshing BUT there was a huge chunk of ice in both my and my BF's drink. There's usually small pieces of crushed ice which complements the drink. But no! This was a huge glob of ice. That made it taste watered down after a while. No bueno. And to top it off, we both had to spit out a piece of tiny plastic from the drink. We have no clue where it could have been from. Disappointed with my drink today but I will still come back next time. I'm hoping it was just that one girl's (the one who made it) mistake. read more

Good but not super special to me. Tried the black sesame mochi balls in simple syrup, black sesame sweet soup and various other mochi rolls. Definitely a specialty store and if in need of a gift or modestly sweetened dessert this could be the right place. Might be back. read more

I stopped by here during my wait at Savoy before I headed to the ATM at the bank a few doors down--cash only establishments around here! I'd checked Yelp and was intrigued by a durian item--the coconut durian roll--which I snagged in my bag. I started getting intermittent whiffs of...gasoline? which I finally parsed was the durian roll. Strong stuff! I shared the dessert with my grandfather after we got home from our Alhambra food crawl (Savoy, Phoenix Dessert, Kang Kang, kerplop!) and the roll is absolutely delicate and soft. After you get the initial blast of coconut, there's a tropical almost-mango fruit flavor that's followed by something akin to sweet raw onion. I think my grandfather enjoyed the texture of it as his sense of taste isn't so good right now. Lots of prefilled drinks in the fridge including the mysterious Steamed Papaya White Fungus. Thier desserts are ok. Im not Chinese so the flavors are a little off for my taste. I love the green tea flavored ones but that is the most extreme that I will go. This place requires a palate that grew up on authentic chinese food. Although you could find random items on the menu that work but many dont. Ive used this place a bunch of times for my clients offices. I usually order a little bit of everything. Some work, some dont for me. I do LOVE their mixed fruit white drink. AMAZING. The people here are real nice and is very courteous. I normally get the cocnut milk with red beans or the mochis that they serve. The desserts here are delicious and not too sweet (I am not a real big fan of very sweet foods). Recommend for anybody with the same tastes I have. read more

i came here because the line for din tai fung was too long but i'm glad i did. my friends got the meals here that were not too special. but me being adventurous, i wanted to try to hong kong styled desserts they specialize in, instead of having a dinner. i tried the hot dessert - black sticky rice with coconut milk. it was smooth, warm, and porridge-like, with the hint of sweetness mixed in. the portions are HUGE so it basically was my dinner. i wanted to try the other desserts but after i finished this one, i was too full to try the other ones. the other very popular desserts people recommended are tapioca mixed fruits drink, mochis, and mango rolls. i'm definitely down to go back!! read more

Dropped by here since my friend said this is the place to go for desserts! Boy was she right! It was soooo good! They even open late! I had the Macau Tiramisu. So light a fluffy! This place was ok. The durian mochi rolls were really good. Really fresh and soft. Not too sweet. I should've gotten the mango one too! I ordered the mango with sago and coconut milk and my little brother ordered the mixed fruit with sago and coconut milk and they both weren't very good. My friend convinced me to try the Mixed Fruit tapioca drink & as a person who isn't too fond of coconut, it was sooo delicious! I will definitely come back just for that. Downside is that they add a little too much ice & there's a $10 minimum if you pay with card. But their desserts looked so delicious! read more

The durian rolls are way too expensive, at first it was $5 for 3 rolls then they increased the price to $5.95 for 3 rolls, then $6.95 for 3 rolls. Now guess what, 5.95 for only 2 rolls. I enjoy Asian/Chinese desserts. They tend to be less sweet but when done right loaded with flavor which includes: peanuts, sesame, coconut, strawberry, mango, almond, etc. Their mochis are ok. I see the attractiveness of this place. When I went in to the dessert area, I literally want to order one of each. It LOOKS so good. I am a huge fan of mango. I will eat it for dinner if I can. I ordered the mango roll, the assorted mochis and the assorted pudding. The first one I tried was the mango roll. Once I put it in my mouth, I had to double check what I was eating. There was no taste to it. There were absolutely no mango taste to the stuffing and very little mango bits. Then I tried the mango mochi, it was a mango roll shaped into a circular shape. Still no taste.. Finally, the puddings. Of course, I went straight to the mango one first. This one finally had some mango taste, but very little. This place is a big fat disspointment. read more

If I lived in LA, SGV or anywhere remotely close by, I'd be a tub of lard by now. I love love love the desserts and drinks here. My go to items, highly recommended: Mixed Fruit Tapioca drink--real fresh fruits in a refreshing lightly sweetened drink Mango Pomelo Sago, anything it's served in--alone, over silken tofu (get to that later), pudding, in a drink, any form Black sesame soup--flavorful, not watered down Mango or Durian mochi roll--light tender mochi wrapped around light custard and real chunks of fruits Puddings--comes in all kinds of flavors, but my favorites are durian, mango pomelo sago and black sesame Taro and young coconut--seasonal; a yummy combination but rich Great for fans of durian and Hong Kong style desserts. To tofu fans, you've got to try their silken tofu...soooo good. My only complaint is that they changed one item that I loved, replaced mung beans with sago on the silken tofu with black sesame ice cream--just not the same without the mung beans. They have so many choices ranging from drinks, puddings, soups (cold and hot) to mochi. Can't list them all and rate them all. Just go there and try some. Be adventurous. Go with friends. I come here whenever I crave for a HongKong style dessert. This is my favorite Phoenix location. The staff here is efficient and make good recommendation. I also like the fact that they have the restaurant and dessert separate while the dessert portion still has several savory items for me to snack on. I really like their spicy pork ear and tender. They are made perfectly, not too spicy, just done right! As for dessert, I really like the taro & black sticky rice, young coconut sticky rice and durian mochi roll! I love durian, so this is the closet thing I can get for fresh durian that tastes good in SoCal. I wish they made durian milk tea...I would frequent even more. Overall, a good place to snack and late night snack. It is quick and no fuss. I would recommend it. read more

Gross! The shaved ice tasted weird. My mom literally thought there was ham in it because of the weird taste. Then we got the assorted mochi, and the mochi was all droopy. It wasn't firm at all. The red bean inside was over cooked. Everything was just gross. Don't go here. :( read more

Mmm really really good Chinese desserts. You can get a bunch of stuff without feeling gross and heavy. Everything is fresh and not crazy sweet. These aren't Americanized though so expect to see some unfamiliar things if you're not asian. I had the little box of mixed puddings, my favorite one was the mango. I also had the melon coconut slush and it was so good I can't even tell you, very creamy and lots of fresh melon and sago. My bf had the mango mochi- prob my favorite of everything we ordered - fresh mango slice wrapped in soft mochi without even getting soggy. He had the passion fruit tea with citrus fruit in it and it was really refreshing but also satisfies the sweet tooth. read more
