Pho Go is located in the Old Avon Village Plaza. It's a fast casual Vietnamese restaurant with a handful of tables. I ordered food on their website before picking up. The food was ready when I got there. I went for the vermicelli noodles and grilled pork, it was very good. The only downfall were the portions. We also had dumplings which were tasty. The food tasted flavorful and authentic. It's definitely up there with one of my favorites in the area in terms of flavor. read more

Absolutely loved my takeout from Pho Go in Avon! 5/5. This is a regular spot for me because the prices are great and the food is always consistent. The Beef Pho is incredibly flavorful, and they pack it perfectly for travel so everything stays fresh. I got the plain pho and the pork chop meal. Bc I know I'm a ln outlier but I like my pho with a pork chop. Almost no places around here do it this way. I wish I didn't have to order two meals to get one thing. I asked if I could get the pork chops without order the meal and just have it be an add on or the pho but they said no. Anyhoo, the broth had a nice flavor. The pork chop was good but quite (too) fatty. I would order again bc it is convenient in my way home but prefer the pork chops at Pho Boston. Also ordered the shrimp spring roll which was good. Stopped in on a whim before an appointment and they were really good. Then banh mi sandwhich wa really good & flavorful along with there spring rolls. The Vietnamese coffee was good as well and the staff and service was very nice and attentive. It is a small little place not alot of room to sit down but it was still a nice environment. read more

For a place that advertises as "Authentic Vietnamese Cuisine" its kind of a joke, the food is very white washed. The food tastes good as a regular sandwich or a spin off fresh spring roll but I don't know if the owners of this restaurant have ever had authentic Pork Banh Mi or Fresh Spring rolls in their life. Its like an American spin off, there wasn't any daikon in the sandwich, the carrots are grated small not crunchy at all, the bread is definitely not Vietnamese bread, just regular bread, they didn't even know what patté was. l asked for extra veggies on the sandwich... I can only imagine what it would have tasted like without asking for extra because for the size of the bread in comparison to the filling.. I was disappointed. The "FreshSpring Rolls" were filled with lettuce instead of cabbage, and again with the grated carrots, and hardly any noodles, the "sauce" for the rolls tasted like apple cider vinegar salad dressing not a peanut sauce. If you want Americanized Vietnamese food this is the place for you. Don't get me wrong the food doesn't bad but it's not "Authentic Vietnamese Cuisine" as stated on their sign. Gotta keep it pho-king real here. Not sure if Avon just isn't the place for authentic pho like the signage claims. There were def We were desperate for Pho and after leaving a nearby business, we stopped in even though we knew we shouldn't. Why you ask? Because it's Monday and EVERY AUTHENTIC AND DAMN GOOD Spot we know of is closed. Monday is their day off. Upon entering, there were 2 kind women working behind the counter. They gestured towards the kiosk to order and we while small, there were 3 other patrons and it was quiet. We BARELY heard slurping. This was not the first time we got it pho-cked up and found Monday Pho, and we detected something eerily similar. The flavor of the broth (which you should ALWAYS taste first) tasted sweet. And it's off putting. Now to each their own, but again-THE BEST PHO locations in CT, do NOT have a sweet broth. The second came in the form of asking for some chili oil. And of course-there wasn't any. How is that authentic? The next came with CT's own tiniest slice of lime. Why would you give anyone a slice that tiny for a whole bowl with extra noodles. Their iced coffee was okay. It definitely wasn't too thin so that was appreciated. Overall, it just seemed like refurbished Pho for Avon. read more

I tried this amazing Vietnamese food at the Parkville location and fell in love! My husband got me to try the chicken and rice bowl and I loved it immediately. At first looks like just a simple dish but once you add the green and chili sauces, this combo becomes irresistible! I was around the Avon area and wanted to try the new location and I'm glad I did! I work around the area, so I occasionally stop by. I usually get take-out. The inside is tiny, but there's plenty of seating outdoors. Recently I dined in and ordered the lunch special. The staff is friendly and offers speedy service. I opted for the rice bowl with chicken. My order was prepared in 15 minutes. It was really good. It's a decent Vietnamese restaurant. "One mornin' at breakfast, I said to my wife We've been everywhere once and some places twice As I had another helping of country ham She said, "We ain't never been to Vietnam" (Johnny Cash - Singin' in Vietnam Talkin' Blues) The Pan Asian food wave continues to roll through the Farmington Valley (curiously skipping Poke Bowls). We just visited the newest Asian restaurant -a fantastic Vietnamese place named PhoGo of Avon. Yes, Sherlock, they sell Pho, but there's a lot more on their menu, like Rice Bowls, Vietnamese Salads, Banh Mis, Pork Chop Meals, Noodle Bowls, great looking Lemongrass Chicken Thigh meals, plus dumplings, spring rolls, egg rolls, wings and even tacos ! The store interior is bright and cheery, a nice improvement from the previous decor of the old Pick and Mix. There are four tables inside and another four tables outside on a gorgeous outdoor patio, so maybe they can accommodate a total of 20 patrons inside and out. It was very hot on the weekend, so we passed on the Pho and went with some lighter options - a fantastic Vietnamese Salad with chicken ($9.98), an order of two Shrimp Spring Rolls ($5.99), an order of 6 dumplings ($9.95), and an order of 3 shrimp tacos ($10.50). I don't even know where to start because everything was exceptional. That salad was a work of art -a gorgeous mix of colors and textures with a big portion of chicken. We split it easily. The tacos, dumplings, and spring rolls were all excellent. I liked the spring rolls a lot-jam packed with shrimps and rice noodles. The tacos were equally impressive. Gotta give a shout out to our server Sabryna who was working all by her lonesome and did a stellar job of cooking, answering the phone, and taking and expediting walk in orders,  She was terrific, but I felt a little bad for her because she basically did all of that by herself. By our watch,  she was alone for 40 minutes before a manager came in after running an errand. Anyway, the food was fantastic and I know we will be back to try some other menu choices. Come for the pho, stay for the banh mi. That might be the headline but doesn't tell the whole story. For that, I think back to one of my favorite (now closed) places for banh mi too in Northampton. I hadn't founds any place that matched it. Until now. This place took over the space of Pick n Mix and gives it a refresh on the design and a whole new restart on the food. The banh mi is amazing. It starts worth the bread which is fresh and slightly crunchy yet soft enough to chew. It holes up well with all the fillings. And you don't miss that - the pork is grilled with just a rich bbq-ish flavor. Fresh veggies too and wow. Loved it. The pho is a close second. A rich broth is a winner. Add the normal brisket and noodles and this one is perfect for a cold late winter day. And then wings and egg rolls?! Are you kidding me? I don't usually see a fast-casual Vietnamese spot, so I was glad to find PhoGo. Their pho was good, but I was intrigued by the flavor of cinnamon or cloves that I was getting, and some of my favorite things I tried there were the pork chop meal and their creamy cilantro sauce - I could've easily taken a bottle of that home! The noodle bowl, salad, spring roll, and egg roll were all great too. The dumplings had just a little bit too much black pepper for my personal preference, and the bubble teas also tasted artificial. I was so surprised when I learned that they had tacos and wings on the menu - not something I expected, but they were good! The sauce on the wings was tangy and had a good flavor. If I lived or worked nearby, I could definitely see myself popping in for a pork chop meal or noodle bowl. read more

It was 2 healthy portions and packaged up so nicely. The broth was delicious and full of flavor and wonderful rice noodles. The basil and bean sprouts were fresh and crisp. Hidden Gem is an understatement Pho GO in Avon is Pho real the BEST beef Pho I have ever had!! I am always on the search for good pho and I have finally found my absolute favorite!!! The beef was cooked to perfection the broth was so flavorful the sauce to mix in was the best I have ever had!! The portion size was amazing even the way they packed it to go with the big spoon impressed me!! Came here for a quick lunch with my mom this past Friday. The owner helped us order and was exceedingly kind and helpful. We shared the noodle bowl with grilled chicken and the pork dumplings. Awful. Go to the better one around the corner Pho House. Here's what's wrong: 1. Atmosphere is sterile and boring. 2. Pho is tasteless. They don't give you enough sauce to spice it up. Very little beef. Worse pho I've ever had. 3. Even if you eat in you eat out of plastic bowls. 4. We took some to go and it leaked everywhere. 5. I will never go back. This little place is a tucked away treat! I've had their strawberry and raro bubble tea with popping bubbles and they were both creamy and sweet. My favorite though: the chicken rice bowl! Full on flavor, crisp veggies, juicy chicken and the owner makes her own cilantro sauce that is just fantastic! I always order it with my food and I even save some to put on other foods later! It's that good! The decor is simple but it's more of a quick lunch or take and go kind of place anyway. The owner was very nice, offered us samples and was passionate about her business. The last time I ordered the noodle bowl with tofu the tofu was super greasy so I just didn't eat the tofu but tonight when I ordered the noodle bowl with tofu (extra $3) the tofu was COMPLETELY inedible, not even recognizable. read more
