This review is based solely on my impression of trying to get a table. This place is very loud with a DJ and cramped spacing since it's seat your self and everyone just crowds inside. I think it gets too crowded that it starts to smell and is uncomfortable to eat or drink. The kitchen I heard has good vegan food but sadly I wasn't able to try any. I'll probably just do a food order for pickup. There's should be a limit to how many people are inside at one time and structure since it seems really messy and that there is too much going on. read more

This is not Phono-bar - its more like PHONY-BAR. The vibe is good but unfortunately they lack basic respect for customers. The server literally snatched drink glasses from a couple of us at 1:51am claiming California laws. And this was without any heads-up. It was highly disrespectful to push, snatch and grab drinks when someone is drinking. I don't think any law allows a bar server to invade someone's personal space. All the same they allowed 4 other people to be at the bar. Sounds like the rules and laws are different for different people. read more

Service / staff was incredibly aggressive, disrespectful, and rude. The waiter got upset that we moved one chair and angrily told us we would just have to stand and could not sit in the multiple empty chairs. He aggressively told us we should just leave, so indeed, we left. Asked for his name, and he ignored us. Aggressive, rude staff seem to be a common complaint for this bar. I would give 10 stars for the food and service here because they are amazing, but Om Sabor and Phonobar don't post correct hours of operation on Yelp, Google, their website, etc. so it's frustrating as a customer trying to anticipate if or when they are open. Please also provide a telephone number on the restaurant website and social media, so customers can get information, place an order, or even just confirm you're open. IG posts say Om Sabor/PhonobarSF is open, but everything else says it's closed. I don't want to make the drive for nothing, so it would be great if advertised hours were accurate and a telephone number or some one to quickly reply to IG DMs. read more

Okay, so I'm a huge meat eater but I also love my vegetables so I don't mind trying vegan food but it's definitely never my first choice but this place has really changed my mind! 1. Kale Caesar salad - SO GOOD! idk how they get the bitterness out of the kale but it's nice and soft and has a very mild flavor. I think there was also some cashew cheese cubes, yum! Bonus, the serving size is nice to share! 5/5 (only disappointing thing is I didn't see any avocado on ours and the photo on yelp there's big chucks of avocado) 2. Truffle fries - you can't go wrong, I love that the fries are thin and crisp. Wish the portion was a little larger for the price though 4/5 3. Ceviche tostadas - I love that they're served in 3 pieces. The tostada is perfectly crunchy and the ceviche is perfectly seasoned! I have no idea what's in them bc it's so dark in the back room but I didn't care bc the flavor and textures were so on point! 5/5 4. Hibiscus tacos - very sweet and everything is very soft, no texture. Taco shells, they might want to switch to nachos for crisp chips? Also, they should service it with some lime and salsa to add more depth of flavor. All 3 of us were pretty disappointed with this one since it was recommended by a staff member. 2/5 5. Drinks - all pretty good, nothing amazing in my opinion and the prices are a bit steep. 3/5 Overall - we were satisfied and impressed with half of the meal. It can get a little busy but on a Thursday evening didn't have to wait for seats. Had martini's super dirty and it was decent. Their food, didn't know they catered to vegans, was legit. This was a fantastic find. I truly don't eat vegan and really haven't experienced how beautiful the cuisine can be. We ordered many items on the menu last Saturday evening from OmSabor and I was thoroughly impressed. Not only were the food and drinks AMAZING, but we had the best service and were fortunate enough to meet the chef. I would recommend this place for everyone, regardless of food preferences. One minor note for the business, however, is a recommendation to modify the QR-code menu from a bright blue background with white copy to standard black and white; it's just hard to read as it stands. read more

Phonobar is an amazing gem in Hayes Valley. Great drinks and bartenders. Plus, the sound system is incredible. We were there on a Thursday night and the music was so fun!!! Truth be told: we came for the Om Sabor food and were not disappointed..Dhani and her partner have crafted an incredible 100% vegan menu and my god: it is some of the most delicious, fresh and flavorful food I've eaten in my 23 years of veganism. Came with a party of three we chose to sit in the back red room two of us fit on the couch at the table, but there was no chair available on the other side of the table we were at we asked the waiter, who was absolutely not accommodating at all he would not bring a chair, and he was not welcoming at all, either. so it's interesting that they have a table with no chairs and won't bring a chair for the guest ti sit. We asked another server she was extremely rude as well, when we try to sit at another table and there's only two chairs, they were not accommodating. we were out to celebrate and we had planned to come to this bar. We drove so far to get there. We left in disbelief and decided to take our money elsewhere do not come to this establishment they do not respect their patrons zero stars. I really do wish. I got both of the servers names because I would love for everyone to know that they are representing this establishment in a horrible way. And just to the owner or whoever reads this from the business, we were planning on spending a lot of money for our celebration and you missed out on three customers who would have told many people about our experience now it's going to be a bad story.
