Banh mi was surprising pretty good. Bread was crunchy and the filling seasoning was very good. Vietnamese milk coffee and phuc long milktea this time was ok. Our first time visiting when they first opened was better. The lotus tea was good with the cloud foam topping, that was also good. I would rate overall quality this time a 4 stars. However the cashier female staff was not nice at all, she was a little shady. I was trying to ask which banh mi they have available and if banh mi que as advertised on the black board available. She responded not friendly at all and seemed rushing where there was no one in line waiting at all. It was a weekday at around 11am. Then she just went back on the phone because it was busy at all. This place is got great and very cozy fun decors. The foods and drinks are very decent. The ONLY thing I'm disappointed about is SLOW service and even with 4 people working that's not enough. I will be sad because the #1 thing that always makes a business go slow death is because of quality and speed of services. Went there on July 4th because Phin Smith was closed. Ordered on the tablet a Vietnamese coffee with half ice and half sweet and a peach milk tea with half ice half sweet. My order number was 211 but I did not get a receipt or any proof of purchase so I went on to do the regular line. 30 minutes later, after watching 5 young barista flustered behind the counter and three groups of customers coming back to get their order redone or adjusted , it was my turn. But actually, not quite. Waited a good 10 minutes at the front of the line watching the entertainment before being asked if I were helped. I asked the cashier if I needed a ticket when I ordered on the tablet. Cashier could barely speak English but managed to tell me that I'll receive a text. Got served with two half filled cups of drinks that were extremely sweet. I asked the staff where is the rest of the drink? He replied that half ice means half a cup of drinks. Tried the drink and it ended up being ridiculously sweet. The tea tasted like cough syrup. The coffee ... I don't even know why would I pay an extra dollar for a large size when you gonna give me half a cup filled anyway. Utterly ridiculous. So I guess might as well ask for more ice since I paid for it ... sigh. The thought was to wait for the ice to melt to make the drink tolerable. Walked out 45 minutes later and saw two people walking with Phin smith cups. So looked around and there was a Phin smith express that opened and was available. Rushed there after the horrible fiasco at Phuc Long. Single barista greeted me immediately with a smile. Took the order. I turned around to check out the place and not even 2 minutes later my order was ready. Less ice, she couldn't do less sweet so she added an extra shot at no extra charge. Phuc Long is a popular milk tea chain in Vietnam which started off as a locally owned chain and then got bought out by a bigger corporation. Ever since they got bought out the quality has gone down a bit. In Vietnam they're famous for their peach tea and peach milk tea. However, I prefer to try original milk tea when I visit any new shop, so I tried their Phuc Long Milk Tea in the USA location today. At 50% sugar it's still a bit sweet, but it gets better once the ice melts. The tea flavor is pretty good, but nothing amazing. Seating is chill and spacious. I like the little stools because they remind me of cafes in Saigon. However I can see why they can be uncomfortable. In the back there are tables which you can probably use for work or study, as it's less noisy there. The wait is pretty long despite having many staff members which is why I deducted 1 star. Also, the cup says it's recyclable, but there's no recycle bin at this store :( read more

I got the black milk tea and the peach black tea. We came during the Tet celebration, and it was packed! The line moved incredibly fast though, and some of the featured drinks ran out even though it was barely past noon. It's nestled in the heart of historic street, and it has some outdoor seating protruding from the entrance. Interior was decked out beautifully for the holidays, surprised there was still seating for how busy it was The black milk tea was too bitter for me, the flavor was a bit strong. I'd have to get less ice next time. The peace tea was lovely though, refreshing and hardly sweet. What's nice though is that they offered free drink vouchers for some of the festival attendees and the volunteers, so a win is a win! read more

Lychee Lotus Tea was so so good, the lotus tea was very apparent and strongly brewed. The entire drink was super refreshing. The milk tea was very yummy. Got it 50% sweet but its still plenty sweet. Love the thickness and you can definitely taste the bitterness of the tea but it's a well balanced drink. I'm glad I didn't get 100% sweet--would be a great option for sweet tooths. Plenty of seating and gorgeous lunar new year decor. Cashier was really nice to us with our inquiries since it was our first time. There was a bit of a wait since we went on a festival day, but the wait was worth it, especially after finding out its popular in Vietnam but this the only branch the US. There are quite a FEW coffee places around this location - Downtown Garden Grove on Main Street. The service is lackadaisical. The place was empty on a very early Saturday morning when I went there. I stood there for a good 15-minute before a young cashier came out from back. She saw me but proceeded to clean around the area. I said, "Excuse me." She went to the back. Another male associate came back and saw me. He took my order - a large Cà Phê Sửa Đá and a butter croissant. I got my order and asked for more ice, and he was reluctant (holding up the cup and looked at it, as if he was checking for ice level). I'm not over interpreting. It was quite strange. The croissant was super oily (The butter literally soaked through the bag) and smelled like rancid used oil. The ice coffee was ok but very sweet. I was sick that day at work - vomit and diarrhea all day long. It was definitely the croissant and it was the only thing I ate that morning. Luckily, it was not a serious incident that night and was over by the next day. I'll continue to support them with the coffee but not the pastry. Please don't serve days-old food. But before I let you know why I would give them 5 stars let me tell why I won't: free one topping with yelp check in is no longer valid/honored. The lotus tea is hella bitter. If you ask for less ice they don't fill it up like Starbucks. (Eghh if you're going to mimic Starbucks with the green aprons might as well mimic their portions as well!) Ok back to the Phuc Long Milk tea I never ever get this plain drink at boba spots but since it's their signature drink from Vietnam I decided I had too since I'm rarely in this area. Their milk tea is creamy, (egg like consistency/taste) and isn't too sweet. Their milk teas are made fresh too because when they gave it to me it was still hot! I had to do the Starbucks shake and mix the ice for the tea to cool down and become cold. So now I understand why the long wait, each drink is literally made to order. My sister got a hot matcha latte and said it had a frothy egg taste as well. She's picky with her matcha but said theirs was really good. Phuc Long is a specialty place originated from Viet Nam. They are most known for their teas and milk teas. Their signature are Peach Tea, Jasmine Tea, Lotus Tea and Milk Tea. I love how strong the tea tastes and the drinks are not overly sweet. But beware, if you have Phuc Long tea in the evening, you might get insomnia. My favorite are their Peach Tea and Logan/Lychee Lotus Tea. Milk Tea is good too with a strong green tea taste. It is best to drink at the store and use the little stools for a full experience. Vietnamese love to drink coffee/tea and hanging out after a meal. I wished that the lids would be enclosed since I have a few incidents of tea spilling in the car on the way home!!! 2.5 stars total, the only positives are the ambiance, plentiful tables with front patio seating, and funny laugh-inducing name 1 star for drinks Drinks were just about half empty when we got them. (See pic, this is BEFORE we drank from it and AFTER they added ice.). Got the Lychee Jasmine and the Lemon Black tea, both at 50% sweet which was still TOO sweet. Kudos to the cashier who told me that they only have 50% or 100% sweet but have a syrup bottle on their counter if I need it more sweet. If I hadn't talked to them, I might've accidentally gotten 100% sweet and died from the DIE-betus in the drinks. I'm VERY tempted to dilute the drink with water since there's so much room in the cup anyway. -Lychee Jasmine came with lime slice and real fruit, which was a nice touch - Lemon Black tea tastes like a Lipton with an excessive amount of syrup but does taste very lemony 1.5 star for clean & hip space and bathrooms Lots of tables to hang out at, but very short chairs (it's like they brought chairs from kindergarten class) at most of their tables. I don't particularly want to sit spread eagle or be seen squatting at a cafe, but most people sit this way as the chairs are so short. I can't imagine anyone over 4 feet can sit comfortably. This means most people here are here to hang out which equals loud environment, but maybe it's also because I am here on a Saturday. Perhaps it is better on a weekday but I still think that if you are trying to study (which some brave people were trying to do in the back) I highly recommend bringing ear plugs/noise canceling head phones and a laptop stand - you'll need both if you want to stay more than 1hour to work. My back and neck are already killing me at 20mins in. A big positive is that the bathroom is very pleasantly clean & well maintained (code is 1968). It is unfortunately hand dryer only so trash can is full from all the people using the toilet seat covers to dry their hands. Ambiance is nice: hip & modern with pleasant viet music that's not too bothersome. However, the price and busy parking situation just doesn't justify a trip to Phuc Long for me. I've been to 3 cafes on Main St and I'd rank 102 cafe or Phin Smith much higher as they have better drinks and cups are actually filled all the way. Getting half full drinks today was a terrible first impression and the price to quality just doesn't justify it. (Tea isn't that expensive especially since they usually brew MANY cups with the same leaves before tossing it). TLDR: not worth it as a purely drink place and not worth it as a study/work space either. May be okay for a hang out spot if you and your friends REALLY like their menu or their funny sounding name and ONLY if 102 cafe or Phin Smith are ridiculously busy. read more

When I heard this business was opened in the US for the first time, I had to visit and compare my experience back in Vietnam. Parking is plentiful. The interior is decorated extremely well, Instagram-friendly and unique. Nothing from ikea. There are lots of seats, indoor and out. The furniture looks exactly like the stores oversea. The wait could be long dependent on the time you visit. They honor the Yelp checkin for free topping as of January 2022. The lights are warmly dimmed, giving off a "Starbucks" vibe. People who visit this establish have the "American mindset". As in if you ask for less ice, you'd expect them to fill it all the way to the top. This is a "chain", famous in Vietnam so they carry their ideology over hence if you ask for less ice, you get less drink. Yes, it's pricey but honestly everything is nowadays. I got the longan lotus tea, 10/10 hands down. One of the best and freshest drinks I've tried in awhile. It comes with 4 pieces of longan. Located in old town Garden Grove, Phuc Long is a cute spot for coffee and boba. It's great for groups with both indoor and patio seating! I've tried several drinks here and the oolong milk tea is my favorite because it's brewed quite strongly, so you get lots of that roasted oolong flavor and all the caffeine to keep you going all day. The lychee tea here is also pretty good and tastes like canned lychee. My only complaint is that if you order less ice or no ice, the drink comes significantly less full.
