Avoid Dr Garbo at all costs. Came in at the ER and the attitude of this person was why are you here. He was quick to dismiss the patient without asking any probing questions. My first visit to this ER was laughable, at best. In short, I went to be seen because I was showing symptoms of COVID. The ER doctor I saw (after waiting for an hour and seeing no other rooms occupied) was belittling and literally laughed off my symptoms saying, "no, you don't have COVID. But we'll get you a test anyway if it would make you feel better." It came back positive. He gave me my prescriptions and ZERO guidance as to whether they were necessary or would help by saying, "you can take them if you want, you don't have to. Everyone's different." I totally get that, but you're a "doctor". There's a reason patients ask these things. Fast forward to a week ago- I brought my husband in to be evaluated after he was in a motorcycle accident. While the nurse and doctor we saw actually had a concept of what bedside manner is, I'm regretting making a return visit to this place. He was covered in road rash, which they refused to clean and evaluate except for about a two inch area that required stitching. They x-rayed his ankle, which they reported to have some sort of fracture. Fast forward to the ortho follow up- no fracture found, stitches became infected because they likely weren't cleaned properly prior to closing the wound. The rest of the road rash is fine after they asked me if I'd "be ok" to handle myself, go figure... Save yourself the headache and pain (literally)- go to a real hospital or ANYWHERE else. I think their "we're a real ER" sign at the front is more to convince themselves than educate their patients on the facility. read more

Went in shortly after moving to the area because it was the only ER I knew about and when I tried to book an urgent care appointment, they said to go right to the ER and not delay. I was seen by a nurse right away and taken to a room which was great. I waited several minutes for the doctor to come in and used that time to text my husband instructions for my newborns needs. The doctor entered while I was texting my husband and hadn't even made it to his chair next to me before saying ,"do you think you could put the phone away?" In a sarcastic tone. No biggie because I too hate when people try to text and get my help at the same time. I explained my symptoms and he ran immediate tests, confirming that the ER is the right place for these issues, no urgent care. However, while waiting for the test results, he must have spoken to the front desk and found out I have a medical discount plan, not regular insurance. They cover ER visits so I hadn't thought anything of it. He stormed in, told me I was fine, all tests were clear and it was probably just in my head (I'm usually a healthy non-germaphobe so I knew that wasn't likely). He then lectured me on how I wasted his time a resources because they couldn't bill me. He got pretty riled up. Apparently private ERs can only charge insurance and are not allowed to charge non-insured patients....so even though my plan covers ER visits, and I wasn't trying to take advantage of them, he couldn't charge me anything and he was ANGRY. I was happy to pay cash but he couldn't legally accept it and he came at me like I had planned this. I didn't even know this! In the business world, if I acted like that, I would be fired immediately. The fact that he assumed I knew how insurance billing for private ERs worked and was more concerned with that than my serious symptoms is nuts. Ended up in a different ER shortly after- followed by endless specialist to treat a lifelong disease I will have- showed up on a simple blood draw and no, wasn't in my head. read more

My wife was shamed by your bulverde branch. She went in for a possible ectopic pregnancy a few days ago and was treated well enough but they didn't find anything at the time and said if her pain worsened to come back. We had to come back today and the doctor came in off the hip with "we never got a positive test for pregnancy so you were never pregnant so why are you here". When she explained the story and tried to explain the situation he drove home with NO bedside manner that she was never and couldn't possibly be pregnant until she was very hurt. When he had explained away everything he didn't believe she said "I guess we will go then but if I do have an issue and you missed it I am going to tell you". He immediately stood up and exclaimed "well if you're going to make threats..." and became very aggressive. She never threatened and he continued to break her down until she was a crying broken mess and he demanded "what do you want from me!?" To which she replied "a CT or SOMETHING to at least figure out what is wrong with me" to which he replied "I guess we'll do that then" and walked out slamming the door. We obviously walked out as he yelled at us while we walked out saying "where are you going!?!? I ordered the CT". Never have I as a paramedic ever seen this uncaring of a person. You're no doctor and you clearly don't care about anyone. We will NOT be paying for this after the way we have been treated. Shameful! read more

I had a bee sting my left eyelid that caused severe swelling. The MDLive dr I consulted sent me to the nearest emergency room. I had never visited a dedicated emergency room before but I was very impressed. They were able to get me treated and released within an hour. They were very clear with explaining the bill would be reflective of an emergency room, not a typical med clinic copay. They called the next day to check on me. I also got a text message before the bill arrived in the mail. Thankfully I have good insurance that covered the visit ($3996) and they actually waived the patient portion ($150) because I am a teacher. The high price is the only reason for my 4 stars so pardon my ignorance if any other emergency room visit would have been this high. I do highly recommend this business for anyone with good insurance experiencing a major medical emergency. read more

If you had asked me the night of the incident, this would have been 5 stars. The front office was accommodating and nice ...especially having to deal with 20 high school athletes in their waiting room. The doctor was informative and patient. However, after attending a Specialist, I have come to question the quality of the xrays and the stitching job. The specialist had the stitches pulled out and redone in order to make it a 'cleaner', smaller scar. The 2nd set of xrays revealed better detail. read more

I came in so much pain thought I was having a heart attack Dr You. Was very fast and the nurse Steven was able to find a IV for me which isn't easy. Mel was a sweet heart they all run around working this butts off. And the treatment was amazing. Thank you. They definitely have a sense of urgency and great bedside manner. read more

I went to Physicans Premier Bulverde after a fall. Everyone was welcoming and professional, from the receptionist to the doctors. Within an hour, I was told that I had a had a broken elbow, left with a splint and records of my visit. I can't say enough to thank those who helped me. Without hesitation, I recommend this facility. read more

This place is very professional, and a lot of other ERs could learn from here I came in and got quick attentive care. The doctors are amazing and so is the nursing and other staff. The place is very pristine. I did not have much of a wait at all. They are very empathetic and took great care of me. I've been here for 23 years in Texas and this is the best place hands down that I've ever been to as far as an ER. I am prior military hundred percent disabled vet, and these people took better care of me than they would've at BAMC or any other military medical facility before I came here. I waited four hours and still wasn't seen at BAMC. The guy there that checked me in said my temperature of 102.7 was normal. I was diagnosed with Covid and needed fluids immediately because I was so dehydrated. He dismissed me very rudely and then I went here to Premier and got treated with the upmost respect and care. this was my third visit and from now on if I ever have any more ER issues, I will be coming here!! read more

Good experience. We had no issues with billing and can confirm that the care is excellent. Megan was great and so kind! I'm a curious person, so ask tons of questions and have been to a bunch of emergency rooms so I hope I was not annoying. We had stitches placed on our nephew's arm, healed up well. Dematologist told us they did a great job, so thank you so much. Got our scary letter from insurance, but just as we were told, it will all work out to minimize our cost.... and it did. Similar episode in SA/Methodist, we are still getting calls about the bill.... and they were IN-NETWORK!! read more

Was super hesitant to go be seen anywhere because because I didn't want to be forced to have a Covid test, when I have zero Covid symptoms. I'm pregnant and was 95% sure I had a kidney infection based on the severe pain on my sides and my other symptoms. I called ahead and was told that Covid testing was done at the doctors discretion based on symptoms (as it should be, lol). I felt confident I wouldn't be forced in to a test to be treated for something totally unrelated. So my husband drove me down there, I was instructed to call and check in and did so when we arrived. Super smooth process, after registration I spoke with the nurse and was instructed to come inside. The nurse met me, we did the urine sample, she took my vitals, and the doc came in a few minutes later. They confirmed my suspicion, gave me my first round of antibiotics and some Tylenol for pain relief and sent me on my way with my prescription. Everyone was soooooo nice. Took away all my stress over the pain I was in, and I was in and out in under 40 minutes. So grateful to have found such an awesome ER just 10 minutes from our new home. Also, Dr. Holland is awesome! Stay Far away from this place went in tonight with my 3 year old , who was telling us his ear was hurting and was very upset. An having a toddler boy knowing he may have stuck something in there I decided to run up there really fast. Because in the past they have always been great for us in and out and they triage for FREE , only charge you once you have signed and agreed upon the treatment plan for (self-payers). Well tonight they looked in his ears and checked his temp doc spent about 2 mins with us and told me it was an ear infection and since I had already explained him being on antibiotics for a respiratory infection she said no need to do anything else your good to go. (Keep doing what your doing) They bring in a print out on ear infection and we leave. I take the packets of paperwork you have to fill out every time to the lady at the front desk, that informs me there will be a charge of $125 I asked her for what and she replied our time , I told her all you guys did was triage which you always have done for FREE we have only paid once a treatment plan is agreed upon and you didn't do anything. Needless to say she proceeded to argue and tell me I owed money. I will be disputing this with the owners and if that doesn't go over I will then dispute it with credit card company you can't just charge someone cause you feel like it , I have used them many times before and never had this experience but if this is the kind of shady business they run then I'll never be back. read more

She didn't give me straight answers and made it sound like I wasn't listening/stupid when I asked for clarification. My mom and sister went that same night and had the same experience. May 17, 2018 9:30 PM I show up with my wife for a possible Staph Infection on her right foot and she is in some pain obviously and as we approached the front desk we just encounter probably the rudest lady ever. First we explain what is wrong with my wife and then she proceeds to ask in a very sarcastic manner "You understand this is an emergency room right?!" I told her yes and she said "ok well then you also understand that Emergency Co-pays are applicable?!" I felt as if she thought that this wasn't important to us or that maybe her wound only required a bandaid! I am furious at this point and to top it off she says " Well who is she in relation to you?!" As if she isn't looking at my insurance card or her ID "Why isn't her ID a Texas one?! Why is it Arizona ID?!? She is under your policy right?!" She just went on and on with these questions like I felt the next question out of her mouth was going to be "Are you from the United States?!" I felt horrible how this lady was treating us, and to make matters worse another family was leaving the ER and she quickly changes her RBF into a smiling face and just talks to them the same way I wish were talked to. All in all I am very disappointed especially since I have been here three times before and have never experienced this sort of behavior ever before. read more

The medical staff was all helpful, and through various tests the doctor was able to get to the crux of my abdominal pain. The reason for the 3-star review is because upon being discharged, I was given copies of all of my medical paperwork. Among them was a battery of drug testing they had done without my knowledge (all negative, guys). My concern is that by consenting to treatment there they either just run drug tests on all their patients without explicit consent, or that I was profiled due to my unconventional appearance. So while my treatment there was fine, they either treat all their patients with incredulity and as potential junkies, or they thought that I specifically looked like a junkie. Either way, I was shocked at the lack of disclosure for the testing that was being done, and left questioning the manner in which I was treated. In the future when signing paperwork at a hospital wherein I give general consent to testing, I will be sure to specify that I am to be explicitly told what tests they intend to run so that I am able to give informed consent. read more
