I'm not even a fan of this restaurant chain. But since we were lazy and craving Vietnamese food, we decided to stop in. Had low expectations but surprisingly, it wasn't bad. They used to not offer broken rice but they do now and the grilled bbq meat was flavorful. It comes in a block which is northern style. Shaken beef with garlic rice was also made with broken rice. The cubed beef was soft and had the flavor but extremely chewy. Pho filet came with meatballs. Soft and thin filet. The broth was a bit salty for me but with just a few limes, I got it to my liking. Also came with bone marrow. We ordered classic spring rolls as take out. Glad we gave this place another chance during lunch. It's the same menu all day.

This is our neighborhood pho place. We were both craving comfort food for dinner. Came in and were seated right away. Our waiter took our order and no more than 5 minutes later our food was being delivered by the robot . Our server was very attentive and took my special request regarding my noodle substitution to vermicelli noodles for the bun bo hue. When I ran out of jalapeños, he came back with a small dish of super spicy ones! My mouth was on fire after that . Who knew that jalapeños could get so spicy. Anyhoo, overall dining experience was better than the average pho places and I love the fact that this is only 10 mins from home!

Ordered via Uber Eats promo and it was great. Delivered quickly. Chicken pho was still hot and the portion size was very big. Will definitely order again but one bowl is enough for two!

...our go to spot for dinner on a cold, rainy evening. service at most pho spots is usually brief and to the point. be ready to order and don't expect a lot of small talk. classic fresh spring roll is a great appetizer choice. ask for the chili oil to spice up your broth. go for early dinner and you'll have no trouble getting a table. inside is spacious and clean

*uber eats delivery review based only on food* This meal gave me life. I saw the reviews on Yelp prior to ordering but decided to take a chance and order the items that had the highest reviews and I'm so happy with my food. I got the filet mignon and meatball pho. The broth is delicate and well balanced. The meat is tender. It came with a large bone with marrow that was a pleasant surprise. It's a dish that doesn't need amplifying and was perfect the way it came. 10/10. I also got the grilled beef spring rolls. These are also really delicious. It came with a fish sauce that wasn't over powering and the beef was tender with such a good flavor. While I'm sad these didn't come with a peanut sauce they were still a 10/10. I'll be back for more of what I ordered today. Perfect for colder weather, hangovers, and days you're feeling a bit under the weather.

Stopped for a warm bowl of pho for lunch and was pleasantly surprised by this cute spot! The interior of the restaurant is clean and has nice decorations. We ordered: vegetable / tofu and grilled shrimp pho. The soup arrived hot, with a side plate of fresh bean sprouts, Thai basil and thinly sliced jalapeños! Egg rolls were very crispy and are served with a sweet tangy dipping sauce and fresh mint and lettuce on the side. Definitely recommend a stop for lunch or dinner! Prices are very reasonable - especially considering the very large portion sizes they provide.

Absolutely the worse Vietnamese cuisine in San Diego. Stay away from this joint. Ordered shaken beef and chicken and rice over the phone 20 minutes ahead of arrival. I show up to restaurant and go to pay and pickup my order only to find out from cashier that shaken beef is not available to cook and my chicken and rice hadn't even been prepared yet. I had a screaming child in the car expecting to go inside pay and pick up my meal. Ended up not ordering second item because I did not want to waste more time. Got home to a meal that was awful. Chicken is so dry it is like string cheese. Rice was disgustingly dry. Health department needs to come check this place out. Wonder what kind of "cooking" really going on in the back. Will never ever come back and will certainly advertise how awful this crap is. I know authentic Vietnamese cuisine and this is trash being served

When it starts to get that fall weather... PHO! And this review is to let you know they offer more than that here. Momma was wanting pho, and I wasn't feeling it. So I went with that good ole fashion steak and eggs with a twist. "Pho Ca Dao" has a broad menu and caters to all. I got the Banh Mi #7. It's basically "steak and eggs" with a baguette. Simple but so filling. The baguette was fresh and with that yoke from the eggs to supply the creamy texture.... The service?? Well if you haven't had a robot serve your meal?? Don't! Lol. Nah, I mean it wasn't bad, just odd to see Rosie the made from the "Jetsons" serving you a Banh Mi Sammy. Great location with adamant seating. Right off Poway road so you can't miss it. Definitely a must for the first for Vietnamese Cuisine first timers.

Have you ever seen that viral reel (yes, I'm a millennial) where 3.5 star rated Chinese restaurants is actually considered the sweet spot for authentic Chinese food? Well Pho Ca Dao Poway is it, in the Vietnamese category. Always consistent, always delicious, always accurate and always prompt service. This restaurant (when I'm not ordering delivery) is clean upon entry and doesn't give that nasty hole in the wall vibe. Yes, parking can be terrible/tight if it's busy, but it's so worth it! While their salt and pepper wings can use improvement (needs bigger wings and more breading); I can't say enough good things about their Pho Tai, Grilled Chicken Pho, Spring rolls, trio vermicelli bowl, and beef Bahn mi sandwiches! Always hits the spot and has such a great flavor! I'm here for Pho Ca Dao Poway and also here for raising their rating to that 3.5 sweet spot.

Did I have a complicated order? Was it a long order? Did I have special requests? Nope, the ONLY THING I SAID WAS "NUMBER FIVE" while pointing at NUMBER 5 on the Pho Menu... Unbelievable. With the amount of Vietnamese places within driving distance, I will definitely not be going to that one. After every attempt they made, they finally repeated back to me "number 5"... while writing down a completely different number on their handheld order device... If you put "number 5" on YOUR menu, and a customer is able to articulate the words "NUM-BER FIIIIIIVE", and your waiter can't understand that for the Fteenth time WHILE it's being pointed to on the menu and enter it in correctly, there is no excuse. If they can't put in an order of two simple words without it turning into that, I am horridly concerned for any guests who actually do have special orders, requests, or forbid have any FOOD ALLERGIES.

The lady helping me at the cash register was friendly. The food was packaged in plastic containers so no issue with leaks or spills. The food portion was decent. The reason for 3 stars is two things: - how do you not include rice with each entree? It seems a bit greedy to charge $20 per entree and not include rice which cost pennies. If you want plain rice, it's an extra $2 per serving. Also fried rice for $14 with no meat? This is a very high profit margin. - the vegetables in our dishes were quite mushy like they were steamed and then sautéed again for the order. I prefer our vegetables to be fresh and crunchy. The meal total came out to $60 which in my opinion is high for some casual Chinese take out. Could have gone to a Chinese buffet and paid less...
