We were attending an event at the bookstore next store so it was a no-brainer to give Pi on Sunset a try. Mediterranean food is pretty consistent (ie the same) for my tastes wherever I get it so I was pleasantly surprised by a few elements of Pi. The pies, for example...I tried the Zaatar pie...honestly it was not much more then a thick, airy, freshly made pita with Zataar and olive oil on it...but it's sometimes the simplest things which delight. The Zaatar pie delighted. I tried the Lebanese red wine (I mean, when in a Lebanese restaurant, why not?) And it stood up to any red I'd had anywhere else. The Tabouleh (one of my Mediterranean standards) was fresh made, filling, and a nice companion to the heavier Zaatar pie. It was awfully nice, and unexpected, to get complimentary baklava at the end of the meal...2 generous sized pieces which were pretty indulgent and eliminated the need to get (and pay for) dessert there or anywhere else. Service was lovely...the manager or owner took care of us and made us feel he was truly grateful that we were there. It's also a hookah spot...so if you're not into that vibe or smoke of any kind, (I'm not really) you'll definitely smell that anywhere you are in the restaurant, even if you're not seated next to those using hookahs. If you've got a hankering for Mediterranean...especially a place that has some unique things not at other Mediterranean spots, definitely give Pi on Sunset a shot. read more

I'm honestly so disappointed in the lunch that was ordered for us today. A group of us didn't bring food because we were told lunch would be provided. Unfortunately, it was a complete letdown. The sandwich was extremely unappetizing. The bread was soggy and falling apart, and the filling looked and tasted like it had been sitting out way too long. It didn't feel fresh at all, and several of us couldn't even finish it. The fries were even worse, they tasted stale, like they were at least a day or two old, and had that chewy, reheated texture instead of being crispy. I'm going to upgrade my review because I'd like to eat here again, eventually, and maybe not use a meal delivery service. I think this place truly does have some of the best Mediterranean food in the area, and that's from trying a bunch of places and always being disappointed it's not as good as Pi On Sunset. Again, maybe my recommendation is to call it in and doing takeout. They really do have a weird habit of canceling your meal delivery order (I'm guessing it's because they're overwhelmed?). Maybe by calling someone, they can tell you if they're not taking orders. We ate in the restaurant once and don't really recommend it. I remember it was a little run down and there were a ton of fruit flies everywhere. Again, the food is that good that I'm willing to give it another shot. read more

To start my meal, I had the Cheese Pi which are just tasty treats to have, with all the yummy cheesy goodness wrapped with toasted dough. I had the option to order the Olympia Mixed Grill but sized down for 1 person, and if you're like me and you love mixed kebabs, this is a great option. You get kefta (ground beef), Filet Mignon, and chicken kebabs with rice hummus, garlic sauce,a basket of pita bread, and salad for $25. It's quite generous for what you get! Ranking the kebabs, the Filet Mignon is the clear winner, followed by the kefta, and closely by the chicken. I highly recommend trying this combination so you can see which one you prefer! read more

This spot surprised me in the best way. Tucked in Granada with a lowkey vibe, but the food was a banger. We pulled up on a whim after a long day and left borderline obsessed. I went with the beef koobideh plate and it did not disappoint. Juicy, seasoned just right, with that perfect char that lets you know they care about the grill. The rice? Fluffy and buttery. The hummus? Creamy with a little pool of olive oil in the middle that made it feel rich without being heavy. And the salad was actually fresh... cucumbers were crisp, not soggy, and the tomatoes had flavor, not just filler. The vibe inside is chill and comfortable. Not trying too hard, but still clean and spacious. No weird smells, no sticky tables, just solid service and a staff that's actually happy you're there. Our server checked in just enough to keep things smooth without hovering. One of us got the lamb chops and those might be the real MVP. Tender, juicy, and not gamey at all... dipped that in garlic sauce and forgot where we were for a second. Would I go back? 100%. Prices are fair for what you get and it actually tastes homemade, not mass-produced. It's giving family-run gem energy with enough quality to go toe-to-toe with bigger names on Sunset. It's giving... Pi on Sunset is a Lebanese restaurant on Zelzah in Granada Hills. It has an elegant dining space and a small basic menu of Mediterranean items. I came here for carry out and chose the Spinach Pi (2 pieces, that's how they spell it), from the appetizer menu. It has a similar look to Samosas, were deep fried and had a crisp and tasty outer dough covering. The inside filling contained a generous serving of spinach and onions. If anything, a little less lime in the mix would have carried it better. For the main, I ordered the Kafta Kabab plate. The ground beef kabobs had a mild but distinct flavor. They were slightly dry but appetizing and with a good bite. The hummus was silky and well prepared. The accompanying pita bread, rice and roasted jalapeño and tomato completed the dish. I think they give you time to enjoy your meal, but this leaves you sitting there waiting. Noise level is as expected in an open space Food was good however food temperature was sub par. We get Pi takeout regularly and it's a little hit or miss with some dishes. Their garlic potatoes are amazing every single time - flavorful. The chicken tawook is also consistently bomb. I order the beef kebab and it's not always great or fresh it just depends on the day I guess. I wish I could get rice without butter but I get that it's batch made. AutoZone is my go to place for car service! They have everything - all the supplies from headlights to steering wheel covers! I just had my service done complimentary today at the Canoga Park location where they installed my headlights for free. Huge improvement from my last review... Visited on a late Wednesday afternoon for an early dinner ar 4PM. The little parking lot had two open spots when I arrived. The restaurant was empty. The decor was clean and simple. The menu was filled with the standard Mediterranean options. I was happy with the vegetarian selections. We ordered the grape leaves, lentil soup, tabbouleh and the Branzino (sea bass plate). Everything arrived in a timely manner, was beautifully plated and in good portion. The grape leaves were delicious! The texture, firmness and flavor were spot on. The lentil soup was perfect in temperature and consistency, and seasoned well. The tabbouleh was made to order. I requested an alteration to an ingredient and they accommodated my request making it the best tabbouleh I've ever had! I didn't try the Branzino but I was told it was wonderful. The sea bass was moist and perfectly seasoned, the rice was perfectly cooked and the salad was... a salad. Lol. Service started off well but disappeared after our food was brought out. It became like a ghost town. We had to search for someone to get the bill. Overall, this was a good dining experience. It will definitely be on my radar for ordering take out. read more

I came here with my swimming group. There were approximately 20 of us and it seemed like everybody ordered the lamb. They unfortunately ran out when they got to me so I tried the sujuk sandwich and shared an order of boreka. I love it when boreka are cigar shaped instead of triangle, but these were way too oily and one didn't even have cheese in it. The sandwich was tasty, but I've had better. We ordered the dinner for 2 which came with hummus, mutabal, rice, salad, and 3 different types of meat. Everything was yummy but my favorite part was the salad. I loved that all it consisted of was cucumber and tomato.. just how we do it at home. They had it over a large deep fried piece of pita bread. Update September 2017: Back for more, dropped it from "5" to "4", but still very good. Why? I don't know, it just didn't seem quite as good and we all agreed on that. But the Baklava was beautifully moist. ### What a gem of a find! How could we have missed this fabulous place in the past?!!! We are definitely going back again soon for more of the great food coming out of their kitchen. Mr. Picky was in the mood for lamb, so off we went and met a friend there. Wow, the marinated lamb chops were tender, beautifully seasoned and a total delight. We all ended up sharing, which was a great way to go as I was able to sample the Luleh/Kafta kabob as well as the regular lamb kabob. On the latter, instructions were to keep it tender and not overcook it. The chef prepared everything perfectly. The onions thinly sliced on the plate were even good, and we were all thrilled at the buttery flavor of the rice pilaf which was amazing and not the boring stuff many restaurants serve. Although I thought the hummus was a bit bland because I like mine with some garlic flavor, the complimentary yogurt with mint was something I fell in love with and we ordered more of that! Couldn't get enough to eat on the great thin pita they serve :-). They bring a chopped Armenian salad serving to the table when you arrive, and I liked that a lot, but I enjoyed it even more when I added a little of the vinaigrette salad dressing used on the Greek salad and stirred that into the Armenian salad. Because this was our first visit and we wanted to sample lots of things, we ordered two hot appetizers, the homemade Borek which is a cheese stuffed pastry (best I've had in years), and the Lebonese sausage which was filled with delicious spices and a real flavor bomb in your mouth. With such a successful lunch under our belts at that point, the three of us all decided to try the homemade baklava. It arrived glistening and juicy, not at all dry which I hate, and it was a wonderful way to end the meal. I'm so happy to have a middle eastern/Mediterranean( we are all family) restaurant in the neighborhood. Unfortunately some of the ones my family and I used to go to have lost quality and care. The last place we were going to was next to Super King, until they decided to raise their prices and bring down the quality. Thankfully I saw an advertisement for Pi on Sunset! Yes you read right, this is the same owner of the one in the West Hollywood location. I was beyond exited to try it as I know they have a wonderful reputation at their other location. Fortunately for us we found a place where we all love! The owner is very passionate about his new restaurant. If you see old negative reviews on here ignore them-that was for the previous owner! If you look at recent reviews you will find great ones for this new spot! Really the passion shows and it was de finely demonstrated through the customer service and the food! The quality here is top-notch. I'm middle eastern myself and grew up on this good. I can tell you that the quality is not cheap! The food is freshly prepared and made to order. We ordered the family feast for 4 and has plenty of left overs after we each took numerous helpings. The feast comes with your choice of kebab (we opted for chicken), rice, salad, hummus, and pita. The chicken was juicy, not dry. The rice was buttery and delicious. The salad was fresh but in my opinion needed more acid, maybe a brighter dressing with more lemon. And the hummus was great (we added more lemon to that as well). It came with a small side of garlic sauce but we made do. We would def ask for more next time.
