What a lovely surprise. Discovered purely by accident on 13 June 2023, when other places for a multi-family get-together in the area were closed. This location is in the same parking lot as the 'planet fitness' on Hendersonville Road. The entire staff could not have been more friendly and treated all of the customers the same. At least one of them came out and checked on every table every 10 minutes or so, depending on the number of to-go orders. The food was full of flavor, not too spicy, and the cheese bread sticks and custard were good too. If you leave hungry -- it's your own fault! Definitely going to visit them again. read more

My wife and keep returning time and time again, because in our opinion this is the best pizza place in the Asheville area. Love the Detroit style pizza and the variety of toppings. Also to top off any empty stomachs they have the best custard in the area. Only downside is that sometimes the custard machine is not ready or not working , which is sad. I ordered the cheesy bread, a large Detroiter with extra pepperoni (both reg and spicy), some boneless wings and a house salad with Italian dressing. All were delicious and everyone in my group of 5 enjoyed everything we got! The Italian dressing and marinara were so good! Most places skimp on the sauces so you're always left with "eh what do you expect?" Comments but these guys killed it. I could tell it was prepared beyond just coming out of a jar, so tasty. Now the 'za, it seems like a lot of reviewers don't understand what a Detroit style pizza is and that's okay but anything larger than the portion we got, would have been an egregious amount of food. The sauce on top was generously portioned and delicious, the cheese was good quality, the crust was nice and crispy around the edges but had a nice airy texture on the inside. 10/10 If you're wondering if you should try it, go for it. After looking at reviews it seems like the owners really do care about customer satisfaction and if you find out that Detroit style pizza ain't for you; they'll find something that is. I'm a big fan of pizza. I have a list of different pizza places that I like based on the thickness of their dough. When it comes to a thicker crust, you can't beat Pi Squared. Get the Detroiter pizza. It's spicy, saucy, crispy, and the crust is like a pillow. The staff is friendly. The decor isn't too fancy. Just a great little pizza place. You should definitely go and try it. I highly recommend this place. read more

We went last Saturday night for the first time. We are regulars at the 191 location, and were a bit apprehensive to try the Arden location as we had not heard many positive comments from friends. We were greeted by the kindest and hard working young staff. They bent over backwards checking on us and although it's not a full service restaurant, we got great personal and friendly service. The food was great and the place was very clean and welcoming. We will be back. read more

Counter Service Pizza. Great service tonight by two very impressive young teens working the counter. Both employees were very polite and super helpful. we were in from out of town and they provided great suggestions to try after a long day in the road. Pizza was good and they offered three types of crust - Detroit Deep Dish, Hand Toss or Cracker Thin. Its a place to try if in town or visiting. I have lived in Fletcher for 16 years, and am so happy Pi-Squared has taken over the old pizza place! The moment you walk in the door, you are welcomed by the friendly staff. You can relax and peruse the menu while relaxing in a booth, then order at the counter. The staff were very knowledgeable about the menu items, and were extremely helpful answering some of our questions. It only took about 20 minutes for our pizza to arrive and it was DELICIOUS!!!! I grew up in the 313 and now live in Arden, NC. If you want a delicious Detroit style pizza, get in your car and drive 600 miles to Detroit! We have tried this place three times and the last two were very disappointing. Ordered the Detroit Style 8 slice, when given the box it looked ok before I drove it home. Back at the house we all took a bite and looked at each other in disgust. They forgot most of the sauce and gave us a triple dose of cheese. As I inspected my piece I assumed the sauce was hidden under the more of the cheese, after another bite I discovered NOPE, it was an 8 piece and literally had four teaspoons of sauce on top of the cheese mixed with the pepperoni. It was a sloppy pizza with a clump of pepperoni and a dollop of sauce in one area, then just dough and a very thick layer if very salty cheese. On the other side was another dollop of sauce and more cheese. The sauce we were afforded was overly spicy. Offer customers the single packets of chili peppers as someone gave us a few extra shakes. The art of the Detroit Style is the pan and cheese near the edge of the pan so it gives the pie a crunchy crispy texture on the crust. Perhaps the person doing the pizzas today did not get the training in making this style of pizza as most of the ingredients were like a regular pizza placed in the center with a one inch crust of just dough. Shameful to "dish" out $21.00 for a pizza which we had to doctor up ourselves with a bottle of spaghetti sauce from our pantry just to make it somewhat resemble the look and taste of a pizza. I wanted to drive it back for an exchange, but we picked up the pizza as a quick dinner alternative after driving three hours home from an extended weekend. read more
