I have yet to visit this restaurant but we did order takeout via grubhub. I am always excited to see a new vegan restaurant open in town and always a little skeptical. Let's face it, vegan cheese can be questionable. But I ordered this with a lactose intolerant friend, and she kept saying, "Are you sure this is vegan cheese? Are you sure??" It was that good. We ordered ourselves a little assortment: the Mediterranean salad, smashed potatoes, and pesto grilled cheese. Every bite was delicious, and there is so much more I want to try. My husband and I tried this place out recently. We got the loaded Italian and the Chicken Cesar wrap. We'd both give the loaded Italian 5 stars! We honestly weren't expecting much as we've never really had any good, cold vegan sandwiches, but this was an exception. It was a great, tasty sandwich ! Brunch at PiANTA was AMAZING. We sat at the bar and had so much fun chatting with the bar tender. The breakfast sandwich was the best I've ever tasted (vegan and non-vegan), it was SO flavorful and the Cinnabon Belgian Waffle was crazy good. Disappointing. The cheese triangles appetizer was good and the servers were nice. Now, the bad parts. First, the fries and chicken appeared to be frozen. I believe some money could be saved by making fresh fries at least. This was interesting for a restaurant that brands itself around sustainability. I agree with Rosie's comment that we overpaid for a mediocre meal. Plant City is also overpriced, but the food tastes fresh there and is worth the price. I had a gluten-free buffalo chicken wrap. The gluten-free wrap was awful and fell apart. The chicken appeared to be frozen and was simply doused in buffalo sauce to make it buffalo-flavored and the lettuce was drenched in ranch. It was very salty. One of the servers mentioned that the gluten-free wraps that they had weren't great. I wondered why the server said this in front of a customer. I also wondered why the restaurant would continue to serve bad gluten-free wraps and charge extra for them. Another issue was how long the food took to come out. It took 45 minutes to receive 2 wraps. We received the appetizer promptly, but we finished the small portion and just sat waiting for the entree. read more

After a long week, and it was only 11:30 am Monday, I decided to try Pianta. I ordered the steak and cheese egg rolls, the bbq "chicken" grilled cheese, and the Italian sandwich. First the food was really good, so good I started eating in the parking lot. The bbq grilled cheese is absolutely touched by the gods and I highly recommend it. The eggs rolls were great, though a bit greasy. Didn't care, tasted like heaven. The only reason this isn't a 5-star review is because of the packaging of the Italian sandwich. The pickle was rolled into the wrapper against the sandwich and I didn't eat it immediately and placed it in the frig for dinner. Hours later, I went to eat the sandwich and the pickle had leaked through the wrapper and entire bottom of the sandwich was wet and soggy...so I didn't eat it. In any event, the other two items were so great, I'm still going to order again as soon as possible. I'm obsessed with the bbq grilled cheese. Soooo good. read more

My wife and I came here on a Saturday night for a belated birthday dinner. We'd had an idea of what we wanted going in but when we saw that they had a poutine special we had to have it, along with the steak and cheese egg rolls. Both were delicious and well presented. For the main course we got the pesto gnocchi and the mezze platter (usually an appetizer but I love falafel). Everything was fantastic. For dessert we got another special, the banana bread pudding with ice cream and cream cheese frosting. It was, without a doubt, the best dessert either of us had ever had. This was absolutely worth the 1 hour+drive and is one of the best vegan restaurants I've had the pleasure of dining at. Food is always fabulous here. I've had damn near everything I think. When I've dined in, service has been beyond-I don't even know who came out from the kitchen to check on me and my meal last time, but it was such a Michelin move, I loved it (and the food!). Ambiance is nice, roomy, and I think there's a small bar, might be remembering that wrong because I got to sit outside. That I recommend if available(quite the scene on that street) and the 'peanut butter' dessert...and obviously the steak eggrolls...oh and the Italian grinder (it's like the original your neighborhood grandma made back in the 80s)...and...just get what you want, it's all good. read more

I am not a vegan but I am currently cutting back heavily on dairy and gluten so I figured I'd give this place a shot. They did not disappoint! I ordered the BBQ grilled cheese and my lady got the thanksgiving sandwich. We both ordered the caramel apple cheesecake. My food was absolutely delicious and my girls food tasted very good, however it was served cold. I'm not sure if this was by design or if it was supposed to be served warm/hot. The dessert was perfect! I've read so much about the egg rolls I really wanted to give them a try but using DoorDash the order was already almost $70.00 for two sandwiches and dessert. I understand clean food like this comes with a price so we'll have to try them next time. There will definitely be a next time! For the record I would give my first experience here a 4.5 based off taste, knock off .5 for cold sandwich and prices. Highly recommended. read more

AMAZING!!! Let me start by saying the quality of the food, more than justifies the price. AND I was more than full/satisfied with my sandwich! Me & hubby had the loaded Italian, Buffalo chicken, steak and cheese egg rolls, smashed potatoes, and coffee milk. All of it was EXCEPTIONAL! In quality, freshness and flavors. The homemade sauces are the best I've had. What I love is that the vegan "meats" don't have that weird under taste common in vegan "meats" that can be off putting. I bit into the sandwich, chewed and waited. To my absolute delight it never came! I know I'm repeating myself and other reviewers at this point, but the food is AWESOME. The only thing I didn't care for was the coffee milk. The quality was good, I just didn't like the pistachio flavor. Personal preference. In the future, I hope a brick and mortar restaurant will be available where I can sit and enjoy this wonderful food with like minded people. read more

I have yet to try 1 bad thing at this place! Our faves are the Buffaque Tenders and Steak & Cheese Egg Rolls (that chipotle aioli though!!!) Their desserts rotate and I have loved them all. Today we decided to try the pasta with cauliflower cream sauce, broccoli and chicken...OMG I will be craving this all the time. We also got the Egg Nog Bread Pudding which was rich and decadent. The steak and cheese egg rolls are amazing. I started ordering from them before they have their dine in location so I've been a fan for a long time. Unfortunately inflation has caused the pricing to go up considerably which means I can't justify going as often as I used to but I still enjoy their food when I have a chance to get over there. The food we experienced from PiANTA was fantastic! They were vendors at the recent RI Vegtoberfest, and as attendees, this was our first time tasting their offerings. They were sampling their Autumn "Chicken" Salad on a cracker. We got in the long line leading to their booth, tried the sample and indulged in most of their menu items as well. We each ordered their Buffalo "Chicken" Handheld, their Loaded Italian Handheld, and their "Steak" and "Cheese" egg roll. The egg roll was fantastic! The proportion of the filling to the dough was perfect. The filling was very flavorful and the egg roll held together well throughout the munching of it. I had snacked the fest aplenty at that point so I saved the handhelds for about an hour later. By the time I dug into them, they seemed as fresh as they would've been if I had eaten them right away. The Buffalo consisted of: spicy pea protein tenders in buffalo sauce, lettuce, tomato, red onion, greens, and vegan ranch on a wrap. It was a perfect combination of ingredients in perfect proportions. The lettuce was still crisp. The wrap wasn't so loaded with sauces that it became soggy. The buffalo flavor of the "chicken" tenders was spot on. The Loaded Italian Handheld consisted of: "pepperoni", "salami", house-made Italian sandwich mustard, marinated tomato & onion, Calabrian chili paste on Italian bread. It was also, really, really good. The flavor was wonderfully balanced, the amount of ingredients was great, and again the amount of sauce didn't make for a soggy sandwich. The bread was well toasted in texture and taste. We're definitely looking forward to trying PiANTA's other menu items in the future! read more

I had the Caesar bowl, smashed potatoes, and crumb cake dessert. Everything was so good! I'm pretty sure I could live happily off the potatoes and little else forever.
