Arugula salad with shrimp and Tuscan Kale & White Bean Soup

Wonderful place for dinner with friends, family or colleagues! Our party of ten had a lovely experience with excellent service and a welcoming ambiance. The food was delicious--I tried the arugula salad and the white bean kale soup. The table also enjoyed the generous bread baskets with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Parking was easy and the bathrooms were clean. Worth the visit!

Piatti has been in Mill Valley for a long time and delivers consistent Italian food. It's not especially memorable, but it is authentic and the portions are solid. The pizza is yummy--thin crust with just a little sauce--and the salads are reliably good. The location is convenient, right off the freeway in Mill Valley, which makes it an easy stop. That said, it does feel overpriced for what you get. You have to pay extra for bread, and there's a noticeable push for bottled water. They have an upstairs for private parties and each time I've gone to a party, it's been nice. Overall, dependable but not standout.

Amazing food and service every time we go. Love Alberto and the rest of the team. The pictures speak for themselves!

Such a cute restaurant with a lot of natural light! We had the pesto pappardelle which was amazing and perfectly flavored especially with the lemon zest. We also got the shrimp scampi, and the polenta paired with it is so delicious.

Stopped by Piatti with family for a quick lunch before heading to Sausalito for the afternoon. Very nice place and we were seated near the water which made it even better. For appetizers, we ordered the bread basket and the assortment was so fun. I ordered the pasta bolognese and it did not disappoint. A bit pricey for a casual lunch but would be fitting for a nice date or special occasion.

01/17/26 - I Stumbled on this restaurant towards the end of my work/vacation trip in California. Besides the perfect location and scenery in the background, the food was inexplicable. I was taken care of promptly and amicably. The drinks were interesting and savory. I don't know what comes first to mind when I think of my time spent in California but this wonderful place always lives in my mind.

One of my favorite Italian restaurants is Piatti. I don't think I've ever been here without ordering their calamari and pizza -- those two are always a must! Everything else on the menu has been consistently delicious too; you really can't go wrong here. We recently tried their brunch, and it was outstanding. The steak and eggs were perfectly cooked and full of flavor, and the blueberry ricotta pancakes were light, fluffy, and absolutely amazing. Piatti continues to deliver great food, friendly service, and a comfortable atmosphere every time. It's one of those spots that never disappoints!

A friend brought me here for a quiet lunch and we had a really good catch up while looking at the serene bay. I had a salmon piccata, with salmon cooked just right, with broccolini and fennel underneath in tart lemon caper sauce. Service was friendly and attentive.

Nestled in the shadow of Mount Tamalpias, Piatti serves up some deeply satisfying Italian food in a setting that's modern with traditional design highlights. The staff are attentive, service is accurate, and attention is unobtrusive and friendly. This afternoon we ordered: Zeppole - Italian doughnuts, fennel sugar, lemon curd, blueberry Tasty, similar to begniets, with a subtle fennel dusting. Spicy Sicilian Hash - braised short ribs, potatoes, peppers, 12 mo Parmesan, Calabrian chili, poached egg Unexpectedly delightful flavor profile that's not too spicy and delivers the feeling of a hash but with a brasatto. Worthwhile! Fritto Misto - calamari, lemon, jalapeño, zucchini, olives, anchovy aïoli, marinara The lemons are a showstopper while the olives barely registered. Always a table staple for us. Piatti seems never too disappoint.

Saturday night 2 servers for a busy night in restaurant Wow I hate to write a bad review especially since I've always liked this place but here it goes, I was surprised that Ernesto and Eduardo are not longer the managers of this place now they have a old lady with white hair harrasing the stuff I was sitting by the kitchen watching and listening, I watched her just giving instructions and talking to every single table not doing anything she even followed the server while he was, he had drinks in his tray she told him to bus tables but he was still calm and cheerful. I was so lucky to have him again; he was very cordial, attentive, and spot-on with everything. The food, as usual, was great. My family is from N.Y. Even said to offer him a job but he was so sweet and polite and declined..But I hope management sees this because I love this place and the delicious food they offer here...

Walking in, it looked like a classy dress up place, but casual dress was the norm. Sat at a table in the bar next to the windows which had a lovely view of the marsh. Delicious food and cocktails. Service was a team effort with several staff checking in, taking orders, filling water glasses.

There is a playground in the back of the open air area in the backyard, so there's a lot of kids running around. They also have live music. We happen to catch a great live show that started at 6 o'clock two nights ago. We wound up with great seats. Had a great pizza, shared a salad, and had a really fun night. The burrito is huge and very filling, but our fried fish tacos are excellent, my wife really liked them, 2 on a plate with everything on them. It's quite messy to eat these tacos, they're big. Because we were such a large group, we ordered a couple of vegetable platters and pizzas to share. This also allowed us to try several of the pizzas, which helped mitigate the angst of missing out because all of the varieties sounded delicious. We started off with the vegetable platter, which featured roasted vegetables and squash served over a bed of lentils and seasoned yogurt sauce with toasted pita on the side. I love almost any roasted vegetable, and the yogurt sauce made everything taste elevated; I could have easily finished off the vegetable platter on my own, but I restrained myself to save room for the pizza. My favorite pizza had to be the Calabrian chile and ricotta pizza, which stood out with its sweet, creamy ricotta and the slow burn from the chile oil that lingered long after the last bite. The other pizzas were solid, although they were your more typical pizza combos (cheese, mushroom, meat combo). We spotted buffalo milk gelato on the dessert menu, so we ordered a round of scoops to finish off our lunch. The buffalo milk resulted in a creamier, silkier texture than regular cow's milk gelato (I think?), and it was very tasty!

We made a reservation ahead of time and so glad we did because they were booked up for this special weekend. With beautiful weather, this spot was alive with large parties. Also, the World Cup was on and patrons were enjoying watching the game(s) inside too. If we were to come back, I would def sit outside with a group on a nice day. Outside there was corn hole and lotsa tables to enjoy a casual meal and vibes. Our party ordered a round of margaritas, and menu standouts included the burger, fried chicken sandwich (the paprika aioli is stellar), the kale salad (topped with chickpeas, quinoa, walnuts, and more), grilled cheeses for the kiddos, and the "Burning Love" pizza. There's a little bit of something for everyone on the menu here, and everything was so fresh, comforting, and just elevated. The meat in the burger was something to highlight, and I loved the thick cut fries. I would try a pizza on the next trip like the "Swim Club" served with Calabrian chile honey, or the "Peach Pie" because why not, it's summer! Service was okay, but it was also such a busy time of a day that everyone was just doing the best they could. All in all, highly recommend if in the area and looking for a lovely time/afternoon.

The atmosphere was nice and upscale, our server seemed genuinely happy to help us, and the food came out really tasty. I'm no chef or anything, but I kind of feel like Italian food can be easy to screw up sometimes. You know, the pasta might be too tough, or the sauce is too sour, things are underseasoned, whatever. Didn't have to worry about that here. Everything tasted like someone paid careful attention to it. Smooth sauces, well-balanced flavors, tender textures, thoughtful plating. I had the fettuccine bolognase and finished off with a dessert of sorbet. My wife had...some other tasty pasta dish (I forgot the name, but I'll include a photo of it) and the tiramisu.
