Picked this as a spot to try out for our family dinner and we were not disappointed at all. Piatti is inside a shopping center so parking wasn't a problem and it being a Monday night, the restaurant wasn't overly busy. The restaurant has an elevated but cozy vibe to it and there's plenty of seating inside, outside or near the bar if you're trying to catch a game and grab a drink. Donna was our server and she was great and very attentive to our needs. Everything we ordered was great, but I would say my favorites were the Ravioli, Cured Meats & Cheese Plate, and the BREAD. Anything from the flatbread, pizza crust, and the baguette we were served was delicious and served a double purpose to mop up any sauces or flavored oils that were left on plates. Treat yourself to a great meal! I went in to try Piatti with a friend, I figured I tried a new spot. I always go to Wildwood which is a few steps down. Anyhow, I loved everything I ate starting with the fresh hot baked bread with dipping sauce, to the main entrees the New York steak with potatoes and the carbonara pasta to finishing off with a tiramisu. I also had a glass of the Chianti which was really good but after trying the Barbera that was the best red wine for me. It was this medium bodied, fresh and slightly plum sweet notes to me! I tried to do my due diligence and personally reach out to the restaurant to inform them of our food poisoning we had after dining here. Unfortunately, my call was not returned so I am here now to share my experience. Our family dined here for dinner and all of us were extremely ill a whole 18 hours later. Multiple er trips to get treated for dehydration. After 2 weeks of having constant diarrhea and vomiting my doctor ordered a test and it is positive for salmonella! We all had different meals throughout the day but we all ate here for dinner, different dishes but we all had bites of each others food. Was it the meatballs, pizza or pasta? I have no idea. But what I do know is the restaurant did not care enough to return my call when I tired to report it in hopes that they can investigate what happened and properly train their staff to prevent others from getting sick. read more

We were previously familiar with the Piatti in Danville but having recently moved to the Sacramento region, we decided to try this location out. We were surprised to walk in and be asked if we had a reservation as we had never previously only experienced reservation-only seating in Danville. Thankfully there was a nice couple at the bar who moved over a seat to allow us to sit at the bar in the last 2 empty seats. We sat at the bar and came across the most amazing bartender, who was of amazing service and conversation the whole evening. We loved the bread, handmade pasta, and delicious steak. After painting pottery nearby at Petroglyph's I decided to meet my husband for dinner at Piatti. One of the employees of the Athleta store said it is a team favorite for them. The place was really busy for 4:45 on a Friday! Definitely popular with the senior crowd at that time of day. Our service was great. Donna treated us well and was patient with our course by course decisions (we like to eat slow). We did the bread service first; the bread was soft and pillowy on the inside with a nice chewy exterior. We then shared the Caesar salad. I mentioned to my husband how nice, light, and fresh it felt for a Caesar. Even had some lemon zest on top. Very good. I ended up ordering the gnocchi for my main course and he ordered the pepperoni pizza. My gnocchi was cooked well and had a fresh corn and blistered tomato type "sauce". I'm not a huge fan of corn in general, just because it's not very healthy, but it was tasty and worth the added calories. My husband's pizza was excellent. Nice traditional Italian crust with a good chew and drizzled with hot honey I think. So good. For dessert we decided on the tiramisu. This is why I gave four stars instead of five. It was really disappointing. Sort of watery consistency, and zero coffee flavor. My husband was being generous and said it was "subtle". It had some strange chocolate sprinkle things on top that felt waxy and hard. Overall just not good. I will go back though, and will try a different dessert next time. read more

The Sacramento area has a decent selection for Italian food and Piatti is a good option. They have a friendly staff that's helpful and offered recommendations. The dining area is spacious with multiple tables where you can look into the kitchen. They also have a bar. One thing that was misleading about this restaurant is when it comes to the bread. Most Italian restaurants offer some sort of complementary bread/item. Piatti asked me if I wanted bread as I was seating which I feel if I'm being asked, it means it's complementary. They actually charge $4 for their bread. I know $4 isn't a lot, but they should mention bread is not complementary and will be charged. Anyways, on to the food. For appetizer, I got the spicy pepperoni pizza. It wasn't very spicy, but the flavor was good. It was thin crust which I prefer and the honey drizzle on top was a nice touch. For the main course, the Bucatini was a good choice that had a good amount of clams and different flavors. The Radiatore had a good meat sauce and the pasta was al dente. Of the two. I preferred the Bucatini because I like white sauce over red sauce and the white sauce was light and more broth like. read more

The ravioli was overly lemony and watery; bolognese was just okay. We ended up getting up to ask someone to track down our server--20 minutes had passed without a check-in. Bottom line: Lovely setting and dog-friendly touches, but the poor service and lack of attention to special occasions make it hard to justify the price. I can't tell you how many times I've been to the Pavilion, and never knew this place was here...shame on me. We arrived for what we thought was a 7pm reservation, only to find our friend accidentally made reservations at another restaurant...OOF! But when I asked if there was anyway to possibly get a table for 9, the host said he could make it happen and asked if a 20-30 minute wait was ok. Which of course it was due to his help, and I think we didn't even wait 20 minutes. We were sat by the kitchen area which is always nice as you get a great view into the inner workings. And seeing all of the amazing dishes coming out, either makes your decision easier or more difficult when all of the food looks good. We all skipped the appetizers and went straight for the entrees, and after much deliberation between the Aqua and the Wood food pork chop; I went ahead and ordered the pork chop and my son ordered and a Hot and spicy pizza...both were delicious. Wow! This was the best meal I've had in Sacramento in awhile. We got the pork and ricotta meatballs to start and they were delicious. For mains, we opted for the lemon ravioli and the bucatini. My husband ordered the cioppino and he liked it, he requested for a plain pasta on the side to mix with his cioppino and they accommodated that. The pasta was heavy but good. They gave me a tiramisu as a birthday dessert and that was nice. The restaurant feel is very calming and nice. Feels like a fine dining without hitting your pocket that much.
