Quality: 5 Value: 4 Service: 5 Ambience: 5 This is a very nice Italian restaurant with a full wood-fired pizza oven and a wide range of dishes, cocktails, and wines. First: the margherita pizza was AWESOME. It was thin and crispy and the toppings were generous but not overpowering. Second, the wine choices were great and our server kindly recommended a great chardonnay to go with the gnocchi. The gnocchi are some of the best I've gotten from a Sacramento restaurant (like shrimp, gnocchi is often overcooked when you order it). The gnocchi were soft and pillowy, and in an awesome butternut squash sauce, plus reallllllly good mushroms, topped with crunchy pomegranate seeds. Honestly it was one of the best meals I've eaten in a Sacramento restaurant in a long time. My partner got the ragu on radiatore noodles - it was beefy, luscious, and with just a little funky cheese throughout. Very good for meat eaters. We went for a birthday dinner and they kindly comp'd us tiramisu for dessert - which was not too cake-y, and had very thoroughly soaked lady fingers and was overall coffee forward (so not too boozy, not too custardy). The tiramisu was also topped with delightfully crunchy chocolate shavings The ambience inside is not fancy (a la Firestone or Canon) but it is upscale. Classic clean vibes with a modern and seasonal menu. Hanging out at my favorite corner table with one of my besties! It's a beautiful early spring evening here at Piatti's. Ok, not quite a spring evening. In my defense, the menu has just been changed to reflect the upcoming season. I start the evening with an order of warm bread and olive oil and balsamic dip. My friend orders the gnocchi. When it arrives it is loaded with mushroom and a light sauce. The gnocchi are tender but not soft. Delicious! My spinach ravioli are in a silky and rich lemon cream sauce. I really love this nod to the humble lemon. My friend had a lemon drop and I had a nice cucumber spritzer. The service here is always so good. In fact I can only recall having good service here. I do wish I could recall our waiters name tonight. She was just awesome! So I live close by and have never been in. It is a tucked away so I wasn't sure the vibe. I have only tried on door dash and loved everything. Well my husband and I recently went in for lunch. It was beautiful inside. The staff was welcoming. The drinks were beautiful and tasty. The bread with olive oil and balsamic is heavenly. We then opted for the meatballs which had a pretty big mishap. There was plastic is 2 meatballs! Which led to us being to apprehensive to eat the cioppino we had ordered as meal. So we didn't eat it. The manager was exactly how a great manger should be. Extremely apologetic and never made us feel bad (sometimes they do that). He explained exactly how he would address with kitchen staff immediately. They would toss entire batch of meatballs. He offered us many generous solutions. He sent over fresh bread in meantime, offered drinks, deserts, replacements... just a perfect example of great service hands down. Unfortunately, we had a "bad taste" in our mouth so we did not take him up on the offer. I do want to go back and give them a full try. They were so accommodating and amazing. Super happy my friends chose this place. Loved their food! Food: We ordered the Spinach salad, Mary's airline chicken and Cast Iron Salmon, and their bread pudding. Whooo! That was delicious. The salmon was fresh, soft, and melted in your mouth. For the salad, I loved the crunchiness from the walnuts with the sweetness from the apples and watermelon radish and the texture change with the cheese. It was a perfect combo. The bread pudding was soft and delightful. I finished the whole thing. It was wonderful. Portions were perfect, maybe with some leftovers. Half of my friends finished their food and the other half had at least 1 to-go box. Service: We sat in the conference room, which can hold large parties. Our dinner reservations were at 6 and we stayed until closing, and the servers were AMAZING. When we got seated, they created a mini menu for us and added a "congratulations allen & jessa!" to the top of it. I loved the little personal touch! Although I have lived close to their location this was my first time here and I'm going to try to make up for lost time The menu has a variety of pasta dishes, pizzas, appetizers, and salads. I went for a staff lunch and based on everyones empty plates, it's safe to say the food was delicious. We were able to bring our own wine in but they also have an extensive list of their own. I always have a solid experience at this Piatti location. Love the big windows in the restaurant. There's always ample parking and it's easy to make reservations. For appetizer we got the fried Brussels sprouts and the ciabatta bread with dipping oil. Both apps were good and the bread was warm and fresh. 17 outdoor tables amidst shade trees, waterfalls, and string lighting. This seems like an ideal place for a summer date sitting outside. They take reservations but if they fill up you can still get a table at the bar. They can't seat more than 4 people at a table outside so plan accordingly. Our group of 5 was seated immediately inside. The menu isn't very large but what struck me was the hand made pasta and hand made mozzarella!!! They also have unique flavor combinations like sage brown butter, lemon cream sauces, pomegranates in gnocchi... I was very happy that they served me iced tea and gave us some simple syrup from the bar to sweeten it as we wanted (by request). I've eaten here a couple of times now and this is how I rated the food. Bread with oil and vinegar - 10 the menu says ciabatta bread BUT it's not the dense ciabatta you're used to. This was thick and fluffy and they had a perfectly spiced oil and balsamic vinegar concoction that is unveiled table side in a unique manner. Mozzarella Capresa - 10 - Sweet chunks of tomato, hand pulled mozzarella, delicious balsamic vinegar and olive oil with leaves of Basil. Order this every time!!! Potato Gnocci - 7 - Gnocchi was almost too fluffy and tender amidst a delicious Browned butter butternut squash (that's a mouthful). Thick pieces of pancetta were oh so tasty and there was quite a bit. The sweetness of the pomegranate was great but the texture didn't quite work for me. Still, a very good dish. Ravioli - 9 - Lemony ricotta with spinach accents with large raviolis so tender. It is an amazing selection IF you like lemon flavor because it is string! Bucatini- 8 - Pasta with shrimp in olive pile and garlic slices. Pork Choo- 9 - 2" thick bone in pork chop sitting on the fluffiest (almost a foam) polenta. So moist and quite a large serving. Margarita pizza - 9 - Provably the most perfect pizza dough I've had and fresh mozzarella...mmm I would have liked to see more mozzarella but that's my only complaint It is a winner. Bread pudding - 8 - This really tasted like a version of French toast. Not as custardy as I prefer but it was moist enough and the caramel drizzle was divine. The vanilla ice cream on top kept each bite fun. Budino - This was a delicious Italian custard with a hint of bourbon (menu doesn't say it has it though). It was sooooo creamy...definitely a good light option This is one of the nicest Italian restaurants in the area catered more towards the high end which makes it the perfect choice for a date or a nice business lunch. I came here for a work event. Soley based on what I ordered I honestly didn't think the food was that great. It did not meet my expectations especially for an upscale restaurant with expensive prices. The complimentary bread and olive oil was okay. The bread ends were pretty hard so I just ate the middle part. The Caesar Salad was pretty standard. I thought the bread crumbs on top was a nice touch. I was excited for the Wagyu Steak (salt & vinegar potatoes, roasted carrots, chimichurri, steak prepared medium) but I was sadly underwhelmed. The meat itself was good and tender but everything else that came with it was not. I did not enjoy the overly sour taste of the potatoes and carrots probably was too much vinegar. The Tiramisu was disappointing. Great presentation but there wasn't a great taste to match. It tasted store-bought thats been in the refrigerator for awhile with the bottom layer of the Tiramisu really soggy. The Bread Pudding was a better dessert only in comparison to the Tiramisu but it wasn't anything spectacular. What was great was the ambiance and service! The staff is excellent! Just wish the food was the same. Maybe my expectations were too high or maybe I have to try other dishes but I'm hesitant to be disappointed again and with such expensive prices. read more

Another great dinner at one of my favorites. Was able to call at the last second and get an inside table. So nice. too hot out. The place was packed but service was still great. My wife ordered her usual , the ravioli's which were good but not enough food for her. She had to eat some of mine. I didn't get the pizza this time since it wasn't that great last time. It is fairly good as an Italian restaurant but somewhat pricey for some of the things I would stick to something like maybe appetizers or pizza which are decent. The cioppino was very flavorful, filled with scrumptious seafood It was so hearty and tasty, the homemade spaghetti was cooked to perfection, another winner. The bread along with the house made dipping oil compliments the whole meal. Their house private label Cabernet was a perfect pairing I had to get a second glass. We finally checked out Piatti while craving Italian food for lunch recently. It's tucked away in the Pavilions and the inside is cozy and quiet. We were seated right away and the waiter offered my daughter dough to play with - we've only known Pete's Brewhouse to do this so she was ecstatic! It kept her busy for most of the meal. Complimentary warm bread and their signature oil and balsamic dip was a great way to start out our meal. We order the Braised Pork and Ricotta Meatballs as an appetizer as well and they were so soft and juicy. For our entrees, we ordered the Cioppino, Radiatore and kid's Ravioli in Butter Sauce. The Radiatore was hearty and filling and the Ravioli was cooked to perfection. My husband enjoyed the Cioppino, but unfortunately said it couldn't top his father's recipe. For dessert, we ordered the Caramelized Pear Bread Pudding to share and it was so good and the perfect amount of sweetness. A Cappuccino at the end tied everything together. Piatti is great and one of the better Italian restaurants in Sacramento. Although it is a bit pricey, it is definitely worth a visit - you won't be disappointed. I'm literally in love with this place! Such a beautiful spot! Went there today for a late lunch and as soon as I got there I was seated outside in the patio! I first had coffee which was the French press. It was fresh and tasted rich and nice! Then I had the eggplant fries for appetizers and they were just amazing! So yummy,crunchy from the outside and gooey from the inside! They come with two sauces! For the Entree I had the Cioppino which was (prawns, clams,mussels, cod in a soup with grilled bread) and honestly it tasted delicious and it was mouthwatering!! I have been coming here since I was a little girl! We have utilized their regular dinning room, patio and been to events in their private room. Always excited when I get to come here for their delicious Italian food. More recently, they have began to offer GF pasta options. I can even get their lemon ravioli as GF!! (Not actually ravioli if GF, but still has the delicious lemon sauce on it) If you have kids, even tho it's a fancy place, they are more than welcome here. Seriously...some pieces barely had a dusting of fine sausage crumbles & it was basically a slice of cheese. The final item we tried was the flourless chocolate cake, one of my favorite desserts. I have never had flourless chocolate cake with this light, airy texture. It was completely missing the dense, fudginess, typical of the dessert. There wasn't a wait, we got seated right away. We ordered our drinks and the server took our food order too. I started out with a Caesar Salad. I shared it with my husband. It was pretty big. The salad had good flavor and it was fresh. I hate getting a salad and the lettuce is a little welted already. I don't think that's right in a restaurant setting. For my entrée, I ordered the lemon raviolis. The raviolis are filled with spinach and cheese, but the sauce was a lemon flavored. First thought, I thought it was a weird, but it tasted really good. First bite was tart, cause it was a little surprise to my taste buds. The second bite was really good. It had a good flavor and it was nice and light. My husband ordered a margarita pizza and rigatoni. The pizza was good and fresh. The crust was a tiny bit soggy. It's like it needed to bake longer for the crust to crisp up. But it was still good. Date Night Review: Food: Appetizer (Summer Caprese) was full of rich fresh taste that I haven't had in most restaurants with similar dishes. Recommend. Main dish was Acqua Pazza which is their version of a Ciappino, the sauce was delicious and salmon melted in your mouth. Highly recommend. We shared a lemon pizza from the clay fire oven and it had a great lemon taste with a crispy undercarriage. I would eat this again. For Desert we chose the wild cherry gelato which was decent but I have had better at mainstream gelato stores for obvious reasons but still recommend to compliment your dinner. Service: great waitress, she always refilled our champagne for us on time and wasn't constantly bothering us asking how is the food.
