Very busy place, so I was excited. We were told the wait would be over an hour or we could sit at the bar or a high top. We chose the high top. She asked for a moment to have it cleaned. She then began answering calls and neglected to let anyone know we were waiting. Twenty minutes later someone cleaned it and two people from the bar tried to claim it. They were not very nice when my husband informed them we were waiting on that table. Hostess, still on the phone! The meal was meh. The bread was dough in the middle. The lasagna was no better than the one from the freezer section of the market. Four grilled shrimp. four soggy bruschetta and four caprese style tomatoes and a mix of lettuce cheese and olives. NOT the quantities listed on the menu and the price was about 18. First impression - VERY poor. Our server - good. The food, again, meh. Not worth it. read more

Our family visited Hershey Lodge and Park and we asked a local about a good local restaurant. We hit the jackpot with Piazza Sorrento!! We are an Italian family and are picky about Italian food. I can honestly say it is some of the best Italian food I've ever had. We had Old World Pizza. Great! They make every noodle at the restaurant. Chicken Alfredo, spaghetti, lasagna and the Old World Pizza is OUTSTANDING!!! They has a restaurant side that offers pasta dishes and the pizzeria side which offers pizza, sandwiches, calzones, stromboli and basic spaghetti options. I highly recommend this restaurant. If you are in need of a restaurant off of the Hershey Lodge that is close and affordable, visit this gem. It is a stones throw from the Lodge. You can even walk. read more

Forgot or lost 2 out of 3 of my eat-in orders. I don't sweat the small stuff, but not getting the food you paid for will ruin your lunch break. It was too late to put another order in since the group of people I went with were already finished. They try to ram too many people through a small ordering counter and have gotten careless. I dined at Piazza Sorrento on a recent Monday evening with a group that included a professional baker, a restaurant owner, a professional chef, and an Italian foods broker with an Italian surname - not an easy audience. We started with the calamari and the antipasto platter and moved on to dishes like shrimp and scallops, chicken piccata, eggplant in a fine red sauce - all done very well. I had the steak and blue cheese Alfredo on house-made pasta with the Sicilian seafood soup. Out of professional curiosity, the baker also ordered a pizza. Well, we didn't leave anything behind. The food was matched only by the excellence of the service. While the location is easy to get to, some might find the exterior initially off-putting as it is nestled between a Subway sub shop and a gas station convenience store. Worst meal and waitress ever! Was charged $35 for overdone halibut and a waitress that next to never came to our table. The atmosphere is shoddy and greatly lacking for the price of their meals. Not sure where they come up with a price of $35 or $28 for a meal of noodles and overdone fish. It literally took our waitress 20 minutes to get our check to us. Worst Christmas Eve dinner ever! This place is a dream for someone with gluten issues. They have an entire separate menu including apps, pizza, pasta, and dessert. They even bake fresh gf bread for you as well. The food was all very tasty and the service was great. The only negatives to this restaurant is the overall ambience. It is smaller, but just doesn't have that cozy and warm feel to it. We are here twice while we were in Hershey. First time we stopped for pizza. The "old world" pizza is fantastic. The bartender, Steve who was also our waiter was very informative with his descriptions of the pizzas. Our next stop we decided on pasta. We made a reservation because it was Saturday night....good thing because it was packed. Our waitress, Jillian was super. She described the specials for that evening that weren't on the menu and also at the end with describing the desserts. Both our dinners were excellent! Tried this place on our last visit to Hershey and will definitely try again. Once again my daughter was the big dinner with the Ravioli. She throughly enjoyed it. The portion size was good and they were the size she liked. They were a winner. My wife had the grilled gnocchi and she just did not like it. She thinks it was something in the sauce that she did not like, but she would like to go back again and try something else. I had the pappardelle bolognese, and though it tasted good the pasta was way overlooked. The bread they brought to the table was good and the salads with dinner were good but nothing special. They were very attentive to dietary needs including asking about gluten issues. So though our dinner was not as good as others would suggest it should be we will try it again on our next trip to Hershey. read more

Horrible. Offensive. Went to this excuse for a restaurant today, 11-21-14, at 8pm. Arrived at the door and was greeted by the hostess. We told her we were 3 for the restaurant. She said, "just a minute." Then she went into the dining room. She returned a few minutes later. She then stared at the computer screen. Then she left and came back with the manager. The two of them stared at the computer together. Then the hostess went back to the dining room. When she returned the manager and hostess mumbles to each other about closed section and mentioned a server by name. Sorry can't remember the name. At this point we had been waiting about 5 minutes and are expecting the hostess to take us to our table. Then the manager looks up and abruptly says, "twenty minutes." No explanation. No apology. There were tables available. This is ridiculous. They acted as if they were about to seat us. There were open tables. Then to expect us to wait 20 minutes. What awful customer service. I will never spend a dime in the restaurant again. Btw this was my second time there. The first time we had takeout and my toasted meatball sandwich had cold meatballs. The bread was warm but the meatballs were cold. Never again. read more

This was our 2nd visit to the restaurant. We came last year when we were in the area for a lacrosse tournament. Lacrosse brought us back to the area again today. We are from long island, ny...so we know Italian food. We had the meatballs and precutte (spelling?)and mozzarella appitizers, fettuccine alfredo and spicy crab with linguine for dinner. Very good Italian restaurant. well worth the drive from Lancaster. Owner asked if everything was OK, so I told him the pecorino cheese in the pear salad had no taste, and the sliced pears were green. Stopped in for Valentine's Day dinner with my husband and couldn't be happier with the choice! Its location next to a gas station can throw you off at first but trust me it's no gas station restaurant. The place is huge inside and they have a great secluded area that seats couples only. Our server was super sweet and attentive (my husband left her a 35% tip, she was that good!). We had the crab dip as an appetizer and it was delicious. The Mediterranean salad was yummy too but the chicken and rice soup was just okay. The main course we tried was a special with lobster tail and spicy pasta. Felt it could've used a few more veggies or toppings like capers, artichoke hearts or asparagus but still very tasty. The dessert tray alone made it worth coming. Oh boy. There must have been about 20 amazing choices. We had the salted caramel cake and the chocolate and peanut butter cake. Yum!! My family and I came on a Friday evening around 8. Super crowded , and as we just wanted a few quick slices before 'previewing' Hershey we headed back towards the pickup counter. Ordered our slices. Had dinner here tonight with my s.o. Our server was Sharon she was great. She was very attentive even though the place was packed and she had many tables. For a starter aside from the comp bread basket we chose the meatballs which I think was the perfect choice being they come with 3 and 3 nice size garlic breads. They tasted very fresh, I don't like getting full off of apps but these were just the right size for an even better price. My s.o chose the chicken parm with spaghetti and this includes a cup of soup or salad. Today's soup was Creme of shrimp, very very tasty. I chose the taste of Italy with a house salad. Both of us enjoyed everything except for the chicken parm hence the 4 stars and not five. Chicken parm seemed to be so fat and not properly cooked, after one bite you can definitely tell it was something that would make you extremely sick if you kept eating so we didn't take the chance with it. If you like a fatter piece of meat and like chicken parm as much as we do I would nicely ask to make sure it's cooked all the way through because flavors are there! Overall I'd return being it was some of the best fettuccine Alfredo I've ever eaten! read more

Was staying at the Hershey lodge and this place is basically next door. Great find. I had the chicken parm (which I always get) and my wife had the lobster ravioli. She said it was the best lobster ravioli she ever had. When I come back to Hershey I a definitely coming back to this restaurant as well. read more
