My friend and I had a hankering for some pizza and since he lives in the area of Picasso's, about a 5 minute drive, that's where we decided to order from. I called in a large margherita pizza for pick-up which was ready when we arrived about 25 minutes later. It certainly smelled delicious but upon opening the box, I was immediately disappointed... it didn't look like a margherita pizza and it certainly didn't taste like a margherita pizza. The crust was too thick and chewy, there was way too much sauce, way too much cheese for a margherita and not nearly enough flavor. Food is always great, it is really too bad that the staff is equally terrible. When you call in take out orders they either pl ace you on hold or act like you are a bother. Then it is a 50-50 shot on if your order is correct. After numerous times of this stupidity, I am done. There are plenty of places to chose from. We've been going to Picasso's since they've opened. They've been nothing if not consistent, all these years. The food and service has been decedent. The kitchen and the way food comes out IS THE WORST and they always have been. It's almost like they think they are serving a 5 course meal every time we're there. Tonight's order is just an example of their disfunction. Order: Kid's Chicken Fingers with fries Steak Sandwich with fries Medium Pizza Chicken Salad Melt Food delivery: Kid's Chicken Fingers with Fries Side of fries (Note: these things are considered appetizers at the Pic and come out well in advance of everything else) 20 minutes later the Chicken Salad Melt 7 minues later the Pizza and Steak Sandwich Tonight it took almost 30 minutes for our family of 4 to eat together and some of us had to wait and eat cold food or finish before others even got their food. Trust me this isn't a one time issue with Picasso's. They have been this way for 15 + years. I've spoken with management on a number of occasions. They refuse to change. There are good things about this place. It's a great place to share a pitcher and a pizza. Just don't order differing food items. Everyone gets sandwiches, everyone gets Pizza or everyone should go elsewhere. read more

Went to Name That Toone trivia last night. Ended up winning a round, so pretty stoked I got $10 off the food/drink bill. Bartender/waitress was nice. Didn't wait long to order anything so no complaints with service. The mixed drinks were ok. Not a home run but not a deal breaker either. Also had a chocolate dessert, pretty tasty. The trivia itself took about 2.5-3 hours. 6 rounds, 10 songs per round, and 30 second snippets were played. I wish the amount of time to complete was a bit less as I got super antsy by round 5. There is no limit on team size (had couples, solo people, and a huge group of about 12). Teams should be capped if possible because of the huge differences. I don't think there is a way to control it but it sucks when people cheat and look up the songs. I want a fair chance at trivia bucks or the money machine. I'm super competitive, can't help it! The only thing that was a deal breaker for me was the smoking. So bummed. The second I walked in, I knew I was going to leave smelling like an ashtray. It's a good place to hang out and I would love to do trivia again, or even bingo, but I just can't get past being suffocated by smoke. read more

I usually tend to give places the benefit of the doubt when rating. This was the first 1-star I think have ever given. I had this place at 4+ stars the first 8 minutes we were there. The bartender/waitress came over and greeting the 2 of us quickly and provided menues, cleaned the table, and took our drink & food order. The nachos & wings came out in an average time but she only brought us two napkins....not nearly enough for gnawing on an order of wings. Upon request we got a big stack....no big deal but the start of a trend of things going downhill. We came to this place specifically to watch an out of market college football game. They have 5 big tvs, with a rather large one above the bar making 6. The tables along the walls had smaller Tvs on them to allow you to have more than one game in view.....nice touch. The issue with all of the TVs (except for the huge one above the bar) was they are not formatted right and you only getting 75% of the broadcast...so with football you only get half of the score/status graphic....you don't lose a lot but it is frustrating. Half way through our game the manager (owner?) came over and decided he was going to change the channel of the TV we were watching. Now, with us, there were 7 people in the bar total...and we were the only people sitting at a table. I am not sure why he decided ours needed to be on a different channel. We told him we were watching the game and he moved on....the whole thing was perplexing. Although everyone there was watching some football or baseball game, they decided it would be better to play the 70s top 100....louder than necessary. Again, not a huge deal but just makes me wonder. Here are the two reasons I will never go back: In the middle of the 3rd Quarter of our game the bartender comes over and says she is going to cash us out. I know this is standard when the shifts change so I had no issue with it....I gave her a good tip because the service was decent UP UNTIL THIS POINT. Come to find out, she never left. She worked behind the bar for another hour when we decided to go. SHE NEVER CAME BACK AND ASKED US IF WE NEEDED ANYTHING. I was drinking at a reasonable pace and would have had several more. Apparently she decided we were done and didn't need to serve us anymore. We were not drunk, loud, or obnoxious. I wish I could have asked for my tip back. I have never been cut off sober before. The 5 locals sitting at the bar were the loudest group of 5 people I have ever heard. They weren't cheering on their teams....they were yelling at each other, being over-dramatic about everything, and just obnoxious. It kept getting worse as the bartender who wouldn't serve us was happy to keep their glasses full when it was obvious they should be cut off, especially since they were driving. The food was pretty good and the prices were great. It could be a good place to watch sports...maybe you just need a bigger group for them to care. read more

I don't eat in at Picasso's very often. The atmosphere is a typical divey bar/pizza point. They have pool tables, a bar, high top tables and a ton of tvs. I've heard its a good place to go to watch sports, but I have no interest in that. The pizza however is the best in Warwick! (At least in this area of Warwick) The crust is thick and crispy and the cheese is always nice and brown. My favorite pizza is the vegetarian. It's a white pizza with eggplant, broccoli, spinach, diced tomato, onions...fabulous! Their traditional red pizzas are also great. Good sauce. Their wings are also pretty yummy. The only other thing I have is a calzone, which I was not impressed with. The pizza crust is what makes them so good in my opinion and the calzone definitely left something to be desired. If you're not into a loud bar type pizza joint, get take out. And I recommend picking it up yourself as delivery always seems to be a 45 minute wait where pick up is only about 20-25. Delivery was on the slower side but it was prime time Saturday night so we knew we were in for a bit of a wait. Driver was a super nice guy. It's close, they deliver, the food was tasty. My son and I order regularly from here. Pizza is as good as any. My son loves their Buffalo chicken wrap. Problem is he orders it with no tomatoes or onion. More than half the time we get home to find there are tomatoes and he has to take the wrap apart and pick out the tomatoes. That sure takes the fun out of ordering out. I even make a point to confirm they understand no tomatoes or unions. I just don't understand how they can leave the unions out but not the tomatoes. Easily messed up 6 of the last ten orders. Food is okay but the kitchen is gross. Watched a cook sneeze 5 times in a row without washing his hands or changing his gloves absolutely disgusting. Then he placed raw steak on the grill, still did not change his gloves covered in germs and raw steak and make a salad a well as get the bread for the steak ready. Not sure if this is called picasso's pizza or picasso's pizza and pub but I will review it anyhow. The best thing I can say about the place is that the tables are clean. The food was Eh at best. I had a spinach pie with cheese and pepperoni- The spinach tasted frozen and at the same time the pepperoni was way to salty and scarce. I've gotten take-out from there before when in a bind and the food was at best 3 stars, not so good when you sit and have your order taken. The beer was decently priced and perhaps I would visit for the bar they have a good amount of tv's other than that no. Don't plan on getting great food, and do not plan on have a great waitstaff there was only the bar-tender taking orders. read more

I stopped in to order a couple of Pizzas and ended up sitting at the Bar and watching the Olympics for a while. They had some great music playing and a bunch of big screen TV's going. When my pizzas came out, I was not ready to go, so they put them in the warmer for me so I could take my time. What a great way to wind down on a Friday night. This place is just so convenient to home. I always forget and "try." The wait staff is awful. There hasn't been one time in 8-10 visits that the waitress brought the bill over in a timely manner. It's always a minimum of twenty minutes to wait to get it after we're done while we try in vain to catch her eye. The food is gross too, they try but it's bar food. I always want to order a calzone or spinach pie but don't because it says it will take an extra twenty minutes and this place takes forever as it is. We waited 40 min for tacos last night. Ordered take out from here last night and was very impressed. We ordered a couple pizzas while at a friends house including the buffalo chicken pizza. It was a very good as it also had onions and banana peppers on it. It has a great flavor and the crust was the perfect amount of crispness. It also had an adequate amount of toppings. Normally, I would never judge a place by its patrons. I understand an establishment can't REALLY control their customers However, this place, like its customers, is cheap (best thing about it) and fraternal. Let me lay down the situation. Myself (first timer) and a group of 7 friends (almost regulars, mix of men and women) decided to head up to Picassos for trivia and 25cent wings, sounds awesome. We walk in and easily find a table as the bar is about 1/3 to half full. Just inside the door there is a table of 2 guys and, I kid you not they have 7 trivia remotes each. There are no more remotes left for any other patrons, so we ask to use a few. After a solid NO (this was the actual quote from the guy "I spend more here in a year than you make."), we asked the manager on duty to rememdy the situation they say "oh they are regulars" and succeed in getting us only two remotes from the Picassos Bullies. This was the worst customer service i have ever had. It was uncomfortable and I legit felt bullied by the regulars and they were backed by the establishment. I will never go back. The wings, like these "regulars" and the bar management, were cheap and not all that hot. read more

Nothing special here. The atmosphere is confused. Are you a sports bar? Karaoke bar? Salvation Army art gallery? Don't know. We ordered the buff chx fingers, they were fine. Try screwing that up and you may have deeper issues. I ordered the steak sandwich. The steak had very little flavor which made me grateful I ordered it with onions. If you like sports, you should like this place! They even have TVs in the bathroom so you don't miss anything. And now, they split the restaurant. 2/3 is still the original Picasso's with TVs EVERYWHERE (including 5 tables with a widescreen AT the table), a pool table, and a jukebox. The other 1/3 is called "Retro". It is a tobacco bar separated by a huge glass partition and has two free dart boards, a poker table, Playstation3, and TVs everywhere! You cannot smoke your own cigs and you cannot buy a cig and leave with it. But, you can smoke a cigarette or cigar and drink a beer at the same time (indoors). Not too many places you can do that these days. I don't go late night too often so I cannot defend the statement about the crowd difference confidently, but I have been there at night and have never had a problem.
