What can I say...I LOVE THIS PLACE! I am a true fan of Sardis , but Picca definitely has a different feel. I love coming here and eating in. The servers are great and the manager is always checking in to make sure everyone is happy. Picca sits in a Germantown shopping center, hidden in a corner. Most people in the area know about it, but if you don't, then you need to try it! I started with their Peruvian chicken with yucca and chaufa rice...but after going with a group of friends, one friend had me try various different things. I ordered a capirinha, which is one of my favs, when made right. These were pretty good! I also tried a pisco sour, which is as skeptical about at first, but they are surprisingly good We started with the causa tasting, which is mashed potatoes (comes in yellow and purple!) With crab, tuna, and chicken, drizzled with delicious sauce. This is so delicious and a great option for appetizer to share with the table. The tuna is my favorite! The table ordered the ceviche tasting. I'm not a huge ceviche fan, but my friend, who is Peruvian, loves it. ..so that definitely says something. We ordered yucca, plantains, and papa rellana. Imagine mashed potatoes stuffed with beef and feed fried!!! Topped with the amazing Peruvian onions...delicious! My friend ordered the empanadas, which were also very good! With Picca, you can't really go wrong. The food drinks, and the service are great. Overall, I am a huge fan of Picca and go quite often. When it comes to Peruvian chicken this place is the best and beats them all. It is a fantastic place. Chicken is always nice and fresh with a great flavor. Chicken is nice and crispy and juicy with a delicious taste. I normally get a half chicken white meat with fries and fried rice, and I get the mild sauce to give it the extra good taste. The customer service is always great here and when you are picking something up the line moves fast and you are in and out very quickly. read more

This is one of my favorite places to get chicken for any meal, whether it be their full chicken with sides, or pollo saltado. The chicken is always tasty, never had any problems with it. For the saltado, the fries go great with the gravy. Portions are always generous and prepared quickly. For the full chicken meals, my favorite sides are the fried rice, yuca, and mixed veggies. They also have pretty good tres leches cake. It's priced reasonably well and definitely one of the better food spots in Germantown. read more

Wow what a place, this is not just your typical Pollo Brasso Place. Yes it's a strip mall like so many others are. But this place is humming and the tunes are straight out of Peru. A very large menu is available featuring Cerviche as well as Empanadas. And all kinds of Grilled Meats and Seafood. Everything we have tasted the last two times we have been has been Fantastic the Plantanos Maduros were "Plantastic" they oozed sweetness. The Black Beans and Rice was Decadent and the trio of sauces presented are sublime in their goodness. The Tres Leches for dessert was different then any other I've ever tried and lived up to the standards of this experienced Chef and his Staff. Service was polite and attentive, value is great. I was really excited to try this Peruvian chicken restaurant. Three of my colleagues and I went to Picca during our lunch break at an all day training. How can anyone mess up Peruvian chicken? Well, my chicken was good, moist, and tasty. But, my Caesar salad looked like it had been wilting and had no flavor, even the dressing was tasteless. Then, my favorite yucca was bland and tasteless. I poured salt on it to give it some flavor. The place itself is attractive and was packed during lunch. The waitress was pleasant, but not attentive. We waited about ten minutes for our check. I am running back to Crisp and Juicy. Picca needs to work on these issues. read more

This small Peruvian restaurant is a local favorite! My family stops by often to have lunch an dinner and the experience is never disappointing. You can either get roasted Peruvian style chicken to go, or sit down and order from an extensive menu. I have ordered several things from the menu, including: ceviche, fajitas, chicken, and others. My latest favorite is the "Seco de Carne". It's a dish made of slow cooked beef short ribs, on a bed of pinto beans, topped with onions. It is also served with white rice. Have been here several times for lunch but finally got to try it for dinner and that bumped Picca up to 5 stars. The full menu makes so much sense for dinner and the service is fantastic. Our waitress regularly stopped by to check on us and the food of course was excellent. The staff was constantly keeping floors and bathrooms clean which makes it nice for a family dinner. You can order traditional Peruvian dishes and appetizers (there are a lot of them to choose from) or just get the whole chicken with sides and eat family style. For $17.95 a family of 4 can eat, with large side portions, and have a really nice healthy meal (depending on your side choices, I guess). There is also a full bar now with some great Peruvian cocktails. Talk about relaxing on a Saturday night! Way better than going to Chipolte for probably the same price. Chicken is always excellent. The sauces are great and again I like how they give you as much as you want. Some of the other Peruvian places are stingy on the sauce and I can eat a 1/4 cup of the green sauce on my own! Sides were great (green beans, rice & beans). Chicken is always good...though sometimes it can be a little juicer than other times, but always flavorful. We tried empenadas which were a bit dry, but the kids liked them. (2 for $7) Look forward to sampling a lot of other items on this menu. And the cocktail....full selection of Pisco Sours, Mojitos and Capirinhas to name a few. Bring kids and you get a coloring menu with crayons. I write this with sadness. I have been coming here since 2013. Things started off amazing and the food and price and amount were on point. Sadly over the years i've watched the quality go down, while the prices go up. Every time i return to give it another shot the prices have risen, while they give you less and less food, and sadly the quality has also gone down. Today I went in (the menu wasn't working so no posted prices,) and ordered a whole chicken with 3 sides. It came to nearly $33 for this. I got yuca, fries and green beans. None of the sides were filled up even close to where they used to and when checking the fries and yuca they were old and cold and withered. The green beans as always are ok, but you can tell the mix old and new batches together as you get 3/4 green green beans and 1/4 old brown nasty looking ones. I get having to raise prices as costs go up, but being in the food industry I know that prices have not gone up that much, and certainly not enough to justify $33 for a chicken and some crappy sides. They still have the best ricoto sauce so I will likely just return to purchase that while going to other pollo a la brasas in the area. If they raised their prices but loaded you up with food (its all cheap to make stuff,) it would be understandable but the way things are, I will likely not return anytime soon. It's sad to see how things have changed and hope they see this as a customer who wants them to succeed, but not the way it's going. read more

Wow. I had heard great things about this place, but it surpassed my expectations. On a Sunday afternoon at 1 pm, the place was very busy, but we were seated pretty quickly at a nice booth. The area inside the door is where people wait for carryout orders. There is a heavenly, grilled aroma. My friend ordered their white meat chicken platter with two sides (salad and plantains). I decided to try some appetizers, so I ordered the chicken enchiladas and tamal verde. Both were delicious, and the portions were generous for the price. I also had a Mule Limon drink. Awesome lunch. There are so many choices on this menu that I will need to return many times to sample all of the other dishes that sounded interesting. read more

I've never been a big fan of aji de gallina but that was decent. Lab chops were medium well, but very tasty. If they cooked them medium, they would have been awesome. I absolutely love Picca! I've been coming here for years and the food has constantly been fresh, delicious and a true bang for your buck! I've tried a few things off the menu but my absolute favorite is their pollo a la brasa. I always get a quarter chicken dark meat with arroz chaufa as my sides. Since they are only doing pickup at the moment, I placed an order online through ChowNow for pickup at 8PM. My order (3 piece dark meat with arroz chaufa for both sides was only $9 and some change!) was ready on time and I didn't have to wait at all! They didn't skip out of the sauces (actually gave me an extra one) and also packed utensils. Their green sauce is like crack, you can't get enough of it! It's spicy with a nice kick! This place has potential. The biggest disappointment is that my meat wasn't cooked right. Started off with the ceviche trio. We got the shrimp, classic and ahi tuna. The classic was pretty good. Probably #2 on my list of ceviches. The ahi tuna one had a flavor in it that I wasn't a big fan of and the shrimp was above average. They all had a lot of vinegar mixed in, which is a big plus in my book! The sweet potato it came with needed to be cooked longer; parts of it were still pretty hard. For our entrees we split the lamb chops, bistec a lo pobre, and aji de gallina. The aji de gallina was alright. Something about the sauce is different than the usual huancaina I am used to. I think it had too much condensed milk. The steak & lamb chops we ordered were supposed to be medium-rare. Steak came out medium while the lamb chops came out medium-well. I didn't think the steak was anything extraordinary, but the lamb hops could be awesome if cooked right. Yuca was okay, could have been fried longer and a bit saltier. The fried plantains was the best thing about my order! Cut a good size making them have a good ratio of fried outside to soft inside, fried perfectly and the right amount of sweetness for my taste buds. They gave us a bag of the 3 types of sauces people eat with the chicken. The creamy sauces were good for the yuca, but where's the brown sauce and sour cream for the plantains? As for the salsa picante verde, they have the watery one that people eat with chicken, but at many spanish restaurants, they have a thicker one that gets squeezed out a bottle, sometimes even a bit creamy. That goes well with the aji de gallina, the rice, and on the meats. Please don't take my long review the wrong way. I did enjoy my meal! But I feel with these little tweaks & recommendations, the meal could have been excellent. The employees were helpful and friendly, the food came out quick and the presentation of the food was pretty nice. So I tipped them well, but that brings up the question... do you tip at these types of them?? They have a place for tip when you order your food at the counter... but who wants to tip before you even sit down to eat? lol. I feel like if you wanna have a place for tip, have an actual waiter who takes my order and serves me my food... And then I'll pay and tip at the end. read more

This place took us by a storm and was an accidental find. We were so hungry and I just looked up some Peruvian chicken places. Hot it in the GPS and it took us behind the restaurant. They have to get that updated. Best Peruvian chicken I've ever had, and super juicy. Try their combo platter and papá la huancaina. This was a great found. I've tried them before at the Taste of Peru, but I never get the chance to go since it's around 1 hour from muy house. We had several tradicional Peruvian appetizers and main dishes and all my family was happy with their orders. See pictures. My only recommendation is to have more tradicional Peruvians drinks like passion fruit juice and traditional Peruvian desserts on the menu. We ordered alfajores for dessert that needed a little more filling. After we ordered those the waitress told us that they had combinado (mazamorra and arroz con leche) which by the way we ordered, but it would have been nice to know that before ordering the alfajores. read more

We've been to Picca many times and we bring visiting family to this place often. It's well priced and the proportions are more than generous. In this visit I got the Pollo Saltado. The sauce was flavorful and again the portion size for me was enough for lunch and leftovers for dinner.
