Wasn't feeling all too well anyway, then watching my Dallas Cowboys lose, I decided to just get up n go eat. It's been quite awhile since I've been to Piccadilly, since I usually cook for myself. ‍. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. Took time to just relax. My attendant was very nice and made sure I had what I needed. The meatloaf was fantastic. My weakness are those dang rolls! . Let's just say, all was good with me enjoying time with me today.

Stopped by for a late lunch "to go". The little amount of food that was out looked old and many of the containers were empty. I told the server what I wanted and he was happy to cook it fresh for me. He told me it would be about 8 minutes and asked if I wanted to wait. Of course I did. I had fried catfish, corn, macaroni and cheese and a roll. All of it was freshly cooked. I was going to sit in my car and eat but decided to go home since the food was fresh and could handle the drive. The food was phenomenal!! So fresh and so delicious. All rightly seasoned. I don't eat like that normally so I knew I was in for a treat with some of "grandmas cooking". Everything was great on this visit including service. All of the workers there were friendly and offering assistance if needed. This was a very pleasant surprise. You have to be on top of your game during this time where business is down. Good job today Piccadilly! I will be back soon. Oh yeah, I got a piece of homemade red velvet cake. I'm too full to eat it now. Will add to this review after.

Stopped in @ the Piccadilly Cafeteria in Germantown for a quick Lunch before going to Apple Class in Saddle Creek Shopping Center. Seems the Managers & others in charge don't read Yelp, since the same old issues never get resolved ~ Namely, the Attitudes of the Food Line Staff. Two were looking @ & talking to each other & ignoring me while I stood there (no one else in line) for minutes until I said in a loud voice "I would like the --- please." Previous reviews cite similar instances. (3) Veggie plate + a large Drink with tax totalled $8.71. I always leave a $2 tip.

I had the three piece dark chicken with the sweet potatoes casserole and mash potatoes with gravy. The mashed potatoes had quite a few lumps and everything kind of gave a powdery taste (gravy, casserole, and mashed potatoes). When I say powdery... I'm saying that it just wasn't giving "homemade". It's not intolerable but it's not what you look for when you go to a soulfood restaurant. I also wasn't a fan of the wait. We have some made to order items so it was understood about the 20 minute wait, but we didn't get our food until almost an hour after paying. The extra time waiting seemed to be due to fried green tomatoes not being made in tandem with the fried chicken. As a result, everything was luke warm by the time we got the food. It's truly sad because the flavor is definitely there. The texture, the powdery residual taste and the wait time leaves me at this place being a one time experience at the least and a, "if I had to" at the most.

The catfish is made to order, was perfectly crispy and well seasoned. Definitely top 3 catfish meals for me in the area. The mac and cheese was some of the best I have had. It was creamy and savory, it wasn't too fatty and had a firm texture. It was definitely the highlight of the meal. The green beans had a bit of a mushy texture but I really enjoyed regular green beans. The meal comes with a side or cornbread which was filling , fluffy and sweet. Fantastic soul food for me. The banana pudding was also delicious. You can also actually taste banana not just sugar. The people working there were honestly so kind and chill. They knew what to recommend and added to the dining experience. My only criticisms come with how some of the food is prepared for example the green been texture being on the mushy side is likely due to it being presented similarly to a buffet. I was also unable to have a whisky due to the bar being closed however it was 2pm on a weekday. Overall great experience

Once seated, we were asked for our drink orders, which came out quickly. The buffet offered a wide variety of both American and Chinese dishes, and everything looked fresh and inviting. There was an impressive selection--fried chicken, baked chicken, BBQ chicken, bourbon chicken, pork chops, hamburger steaks, neckbones, yams, mashed potatoes, greens, pinto beans, green beans, cabbage... honestly, just about anything you could think of. My first plate had neckbones, pinto beans, cornbread, and a hamburger steak--everything was delicious. My 2-year-old really enjoyed the spaghetti and fried chicken, while my son loved the hot wings and rolls. It was truly a delight, and they even had a salad bar. The only downside was the dessert bar, which was pretty underwhelming. There were mostly small tea cakes, along with some cobblers and Jell-O. Unfortunately, there was no ice cream, which definitely disappointed my 2-year-old. The waitresses were attentive, frequently clearing finished plates and offering refills. Even as the crowd picked up around 6:30 PM, the buffet remained clean and well stocked. This restaurant is about a 30-minute drive for us, but it's always worth it
