Feels so good to be back in this space! It's so cozy and welcoming. Guinness: a must. Also enjoyed a spaghett. Appetizer: I didn't know what to think but actually liked the trout dip (not a fish person). The bread it comes with is very good. Salad: the Fit Greens was really good! I love that it's vegetarian and an actual entree salad. The herby tahini vinaigrette was delicious. I also really liked the spice on the cauliflower. Entree: we tried the fish & chips and (as a non fish person) I thought this was perfectly crispy and so tasty served piping hot with salty fries. I like the curry sauce and malt vinegar aioli for the fries. Dessert: the liege waffle with salted caramel exceeded my expectations! Service was warm, friendly, and totally on par with not too fast and not too slow based on the crowd present when we were there. We loved green post and were beyond excited knowing our local pub was staying open under new management and new name of Piccadilly pub. I really enjoy that you can order food and drinks directly from a QR code on the table. Food was delicious and I like the increased variety of options compared to when it was the Green Post. We missed the few times they've had scotch eggs but need to make it in during these specialty dishes. FYI the burger is amazing read more

This is definitely not a "chippy". It's an bar that sells food, including terrible fish and chips. The fish and chips served here are nothing like the ones you get at a real "chippy"- this place serves frozen fish in pancake like batter and French fries. Why is it so hard for "pubs" in the U.S. to take fresh fish, cook it in crunchy batter and serve it with real chips?? If you want more authentic fish and chips, go to Pleasant House on Fridays. I'm honestly angry as I write this. And you will be, too, if you stop by the Piccadilly Pub believing its false boast of being a "Chippy." But before I get into all that, and by way of background, note that Piccadilly Pub is merely The Green Post reopened under a new name (a hint & a half if there ever was one). Like the kind of fish & chips prisoners might get, at one of the better federal prisons. The kind of fish & chips that might be served at a public high school in West Virginia. Institutional. Bland. Fake. Effortless. I've already put more effort and research into two paragraphs of this review than they've put into their fish & chips recipe. Green Post --which closed, changed its name, and reopened exactly the same, for reasons of mismanagement and drama that you can read about all over reddit --knew about their fish problem. It was on notice. I had high hopes about its re-opening, thinking they were gonna address the problem. They *had to be,* I reasonably assumed, because they were rebranding the place as a "Chippy," the term used by Britishers to denote a beloved neighborhood spot that specializes in delicious fish & chips. Yeah well, long story short, they didn't even try to live up to it. A good fish & chips corner pub can be the anchor of a neighborhood. There's more than a few places in Chicago that do killer fish & chips: Duke of Perth, Atlantic, The Globe, to name a few. It's not difficult --the formula isn't secret, a million places have it perfected. What's honestly amazing is that place that goes out of its way to call itself a Chippy gets it *this wrong.* As I said in Green Post review, "it's like someone opening a Chicago-themed bar in Phoenix, AZ and then putting ketchup on the hotdogs." Same kind of insult to a beloved dish. C'mon Piccadilly People, do better. Came here to watch a match in their advertised outdoor patio space but there are giant half dead hanging plants blocking the view. I stood in the bar for a bit before figuring out where to order and only then did staff great me. I then had to ask several questions of the staff to figure out where/how to order, If that different for the outdoor space etc. I understand things are hectic with the World Cup but the service was poor for it being a mid week early afternoon match (aka less then 20 patrons in the business) read more

I'm so happy this location is back open. The English pub formerly known as Green Post is now Piccadilly Pub, a neighborhood chippery! The main difference is there are now no waiters and all the dishware is disposable. I'm not sure how I feel about that last part; I'm sure it saves on labor costs but seems super wasteful. Local and chill spot in Ravenswood Manor. Nice selection of beer and specialty cocktails. The afternoon And evening food menus are different (changes @ 6 pm?). The vegan burger, fish and chips, and Caesar salad were all very good. Hard rock and punk music playing on the sound system kept a lively feel to the pub. read more

Best thing about it: outside seating. Worst: everything else. Think someone trying to make the most money possible out of a location at the expense of everything else. Tables order through QR codes, your meals don't arrive at the same time (sometimes 20 minutes between when one persons plate arrives and someone else). You get your own water. It's all plastic utensils and plastic baskets on a paper. The food isn't great. The prices are lower now but you'll spent $12 to get a burger with no side, that isn't that great. read more

The food (fish and chips) and drinks were amazing as always, but if you liked the place for last few years because they'd play 80s and 90s Brit pop, STAY AWAY. They have shifted. Entire albums played in full by Alice In Chains, RATM, Green Day, My Chemical Romance. The whole (double) album. A little too loud to have a conversation. For starters they ask for a credit card to use as a security deposit but we were using cash so why not just let us pay when we order? Secondly we ordered ,with the intention of splitting, the fish and chips and thats exactly what we got-ONE piece of cod fish and fries!! And all for only $19... Highway robbery! So disappointed! Our friends ordered some kind of salad with chicken-again with the intention of splitting-it was barely large enuff for one person. Our bill was $45 and some change with NO drinks of any kind-just water. How dumb are people to eat at a place like this?? I was so excited that they were reopening -- it's such a nice space, and very close to my home. That excitement waned after looking at the very limited menu, almost all unhealthy junk food, and dissipated entirely after receiving my order. The "chips" were awful -- not completely cooked and mealy inside. The bar menu includes no wine -- just a lot of beer and a limited selection of cocktails. I've read that the owners are out-of-town investors, which makes sense. They wouldn't know that the restaurant is in a neighborhood that keeps the EcoFlamingo in business. Why not take advantage of the neighborhood support for healthy alternatives, and respect the concern for ecosystem by using real dishes instead of disposable? read more

Well, since reopening they've app-ified their entire dining experience. No servers, no menus, just the shitty Toast app with a QR code that's convoluted and confusing to use. I'm not even a boomer and the app was frustrating start to finish. They don't even use real dishes or silverware anymore, it's just plastic crap utensils and plastic baskets. Plastic crap. Oh and a serve yourself water station, they couldn't even be bothered to have a server bring us water, lol. They've diluted down the menu to just basic burgers/sandwiches and fries. I miss the old Green Pub menu, it was soooo delicious, inventive, and had a great variety of British pub food!!Everything we experienced the other night felt cheapened compared to what it used to be, but every menu item was just as overpriced as before. It feels like they tried to cut every corner they possibly could to avoid properly paying their staff. We probably won't be back for food, maybe for a quick gin and tonic or a beer at the bar, but I wouldn't recommend coming here if you're looking for a good sit-down lunch or dinner. read more
