So disappointed, for years this is been one of our very favorite places in OC. Tonight my husband was driving home from Wildwood to Philly and was going to make a stop to get our favorite pies. I called to place an order and was told it would be an hour and 15 mins. But we were so excited that I said, "No problem!" We'll, over 2 hours later, he got the pizzas and brought them home and we realized they completely mixed up the order. The food here is terrible. It's very bland! We went as a recommendation from a friend and I wish we didn't. We made the trip to Ocean City from Stone Harbor, definitely not worth the drive. I ordered chicken parmigiana, the chicken was beyond over cooked! It was so bad I couldn't eat it. My wife ordered scallops over pasta. Again she was unable to eat this. Piccini's is awesome. The service is great, and they offer more bread when you're done. I had the eggplant parm, A+, though they left the skins on, the rest made up for it. My husband got the shrimp fra diavlo, A+ again, they gave him a good amount of shrimp and the was sauce was apparently great. And don't forget the pizza: not greasy, and flavors are definitely there. The flavor of the sweet onions and the cherry tomatoes were outstandingly robust. Don't be fooled though by the price, most of their 12in pies are around $11, however, if you are an average size person and expect to split it, then go bigger, which is around $15-$18. I went with a friend for the first time the other night and had a good time. On almost every day of the week they have some sort of special going on. On the night that we went there was a buy one entree, get one half off. We decided to go with the Crab Ravioli, which included a salad and bread for right around $25. The good: The caesar salad was good and the waitress was prompt. The Crab Ravioli came out on a big dish and it was a huge portion. The Crab Ravioli was served with a tomato cream sauce and was tasty. The bad: The Crab Ravioli was either frozen or not fresh because the pasta was a little gummy. The sauce was tasty, but there was entirely too much of it. In a perfect world the ravioli would have been made fresh and rolled out to be thin with much less crab filling and tomato cream sauce. Overall this was a good dining experience and I'd go back again. Next time I'll try what Piccini's is somewhat known for...their brick oven pizza. Great food and incredibly reasonable pricing, especially for the area! Why pay an ungodly amount of money for a soggy slice of Manco's when you can pay just $6 for an entire brick oven-baked personal pizza (10") with fresh and delicious toppings! I'm a fan of the Tomato Mushroom Fresca pizza, but my family has ordered a bunch of different styles and all looked equally amazing. Ingredients are fresh and plentiful, and there's a pizza choice for just about every palate. The only reason I'm knocking a star off: as with most places on the island, it is cash-only. Piccini blew me away... my family and I were looking for a close by restaurant and came across this place. My first impression of the place was just an average looking pizza shop (floor staff was all girls, take-out counter, a couple cooks in view). We were seated and greeted by our waitress who was noticeably working there for an easy summer job. The service we received was not great but also not bad. My family all ordered pasta dishes as i went with a personal sized sausage pizza. My pizza was surprisingly bad, it was really soggy and frustrating to eat. Im guessing it was soggy because it was served on a plate with high sides and the moisture must have been trapped. I was looking for somewhere to go with my picky 12-year-old vegetarian. We have gotten used to awesome brick-oven pizza from Rustique in Jersey City, and it's always hard to find pizza elsewhere that lives up to it. We ordered the Margherita pizza (and a side salad with house dressing, a yummy sweet chianti, and it was delicious. Really fresh, chunky tomato sauce, not greasy. It's a little peppery, so if you have little ones who don't go for that, ask them to skip the pepper. Thin, yummy crust, although it was a little soggy in the middle, but that really wasn't a problem for us. The seating is a little tight, and we did have to wait about 15 minutes, so plan ahead. It was threatening when we were there, too, and they did tell us that if it started to rain, all they could do was pack up our pizza to go, so we decided to wait for a table inside. Good food at decent prices. I lived in Ocean City years ago and this is one of the top pizza places. Yes the pizzas are a little more expensive than the average place but the quality and selection are worth it. We split an 8 inch pizza and a pasta dish. I'm glad we decided to share otherwise it would have been a very large serving for one person. I'm not saying that's good or bad, just a heads up be prepared to take some home. The pizza was very good, a little droop towards the end of the slices but not as bad as some reviews make it out to be, plus I think it depends on what toppings you get on it. I agree with Jimmy W. The chicken part was on point!! Overall, my family had a great meal. In my opinion the individual dishes are better than the pizza. If your here looking for a pizza joint, the pizza at Mario's is way better. If your here looking for a family sit down, than this is the place for you. I liked that they had family sized options for salad and garlic bread. Our waitress was very sweet and attentive. There were a couple things that gave us pause but no deal breakers. (Milk isn't a drink option, they couldn't give me a wait time when I called, I couldn't get penne vodka with my chicken parm, cash only) All 4 of these things led to my 4/5 review. If none of those things would bother you than it would be a 5/5. I will be back for that chicken parm, even if they do force me to have my penne with red sauce. read more
