I was able to make an appointment via text on the day I requested. I got a courtesy call 30 min before they showed up. I requested a maintenance and check up on my ac. They checked it and advised me on things I should take care of to avoid spending money to fix/clean my ac unit. They were polite, professional and knowledgeable, and did not try to up sell me. I was very happy with the service. The best part, I forgot to ask them to install my smart thermostat. I happened to have a handyman over for some other work and he offered to install it for me. He realized mid installation he did not know how to install the smart thermostat for my model of ac/furnace. I texted pico air hoping to arrange another appointment for them to come back. I was surprised when they offered to come back even though they had left. They came back within a hour or two and finished my installation for FREE. Picco Air has been very good to me. I had a capacitor that needed changed about 6 months ago. Alex came out the same day and was very professional and courteous. I was up and running within a few hours. The price for the service was very fair. Had another issue with a condenser in the attic and once again they were very prompt with their service. They were able to fix the issue the day after they conducted a leak test. They were extremely clean and professional. The spent most of the day at our house and were barely noticed. I couldn't recommend them more. If you are considering A/C work, please call them first. Yes, repairs can be expensive, but at least you will be working with an honest businessman with tremendous work ethic and integrity. Our AC unit stopped blowing cold air on a hottest day of the week! I needed it fixed if we were to survive this summer heat. I remembered calling a local business in Eastvale, but I couldn't find our invoice from a couple years ago. After looking through Yelp, I read John's bio and his family-owned business and thought this has got to be the guy. I texted him first thing in the morning. John responded to me within the hour and let me know that Alex would be over not too long after that. Sure enough when Alex opened the AC unit, John had marked that he had serviced it in 2018. One year later, the experience was completely different. Last year the owner showed up, John. I was explained everything and the price was reviewed before hand. This year I got Alex. He trouble shot the downstairs unit at a cost of 80.00, revealed AFTER, stating the service call was 80 bucks. Okay seems reasonable. Told me I needed a capacitor, fro 250.00. I was like you and I both know I can buy the capacitor for like 35 bucks at Grainger. At that moment his attitude went to *****. He said well you can do what you want. the he told he "thinks" the upstairs unit needs Freon. Fast forward, of course it did, but I was not told how much it would be prior to him putting it in. the special part was when he told me he had to go get Freon. What, you don't carry that in your suburban? As he gave me the invoice it simply had a total on it, I has to ask it be itemized, again he looked like he didn't have time to deal with it. As he left he said, "you can't make everyone happy". Later John called and wanted to talk about it, but the damage was done, he final reply was this..... "Thanks for that Mike. Too bad there isn't a website where business can rate customers because you would be at the bottom, You're a bully and I'm glad we aren't going to have to do business with you anymore. Best of luck." this was in reply to my text to him John got your voice mail No reason to talk Alex made it clear He got my money I got zero warranty on the unit.....................And if I don't like it Oh well The I quoted Alex. "You can't make everyone happy" GREAT NEWS John, who is unable to simply say I am sorry for the way you were treated, and I don't care about the yelp review (you know the one he responded to after he told me he did not care),gave me my money back. But his guy did nothing wrong. He didn't try to rip ke off, he doesn't care about what yelp readers think. Hmm.it doesn't add up to me. And if wanting to know what the cost is up front, to be treated in my own home as person makes me a BULLY. Then, yeah I am a bully, but I can find lots of people who will treat me like a person, give me an honest quote upfront and warranty their work. BULLY ME. Remember that statement Cause it will be on yelp later. Maybe the difference is they were a young start up. now too big too care, or perhaps it was John showed up the first time. On 8/6/15 at 8:35 PM, I realized my air conditioning was not kicking on, but it had worked the night before and earlier that day. I had replaced just replaced my filter and couldn't figure out why the compressor was not turning on. I found one company that said they were open until 9 PM and left a message. I waited a couple minutes, then I called Picco. The voicemail said to text a number. I sent a text and got a response in 3 minutes. John texted back with questions related to my system and I replied to each. I noticed a loose wire per his advice which must have come loose when I removed the panel to change my filter and connected it where I thought it went. It still didn't work. I sent him a photo and told him what I did. He saw that I connected the wire to the wrong terminal. He told me where it was supposed to go, I connected it and it worked!!! He worked with me well past 9:00. I asked what do I owe him, he said it would be no charge. I couldn't believe the extraordinary the level of service, so late in the evening and that my wife, toddler and I would not has to sweat the night away. John and Picco forever have our business. We had some real issue at our house. One company came out and wanted to pump sealer through our lines stating that it was the only solution. When they left unexpectedly before they could finish the job....I called John. John came out and assessed the situation with the hot air and the leak in my system. He found the leak in less than 20 minutes and advised NOT to put a sealant through the lines...and that even if I didn't use his service...he explained why it was a bad idea. Needless to say, I hired John. Not only did he fix the leak...recharge my system...but he took care of some other issues that he said were "not safe" and did not charge me for them. Look, there are a lot of good and bad contractors out there. John is EXCELLENT. When he left, my system worked better than it did when I had it installed. It was quieter and far more efficient. John explained to me what the original contractor did that made the system inefficient....and he fixed what he could...and AGAIN...DID NOT CHARGE ME FOR IT!!!! Trust John. We called all the local companies, but the soonest they could be out was a week later. I called John and he happened to be nearby so he asked if could come by later in the day to take a look. Our AC/Furnace started to make this loud rumbling/screeching noise, so we gave John a call to help diagnose the issue. Over the phone he was able to tell that the issue might possibly be the motor. He came by a few days later and checked it out and low and behold the motor and capacitor needed to be replaced. Before starting on the work, John pointed out potential issues that may stil arise in the future even if the issue was fixed because of the current setup of our AC/Furnace. He also provided us with information about the HERO program if we decided to replace our whole entire system in the future. We decided to go with the short term fix for now, but in the future we're planning to go through the HERO program and John's our guy to set it all up. Great job John! read more

If you're on the fence between hiring a big box retailer to replace your AC vs. Picco Air Control, I recommend Picco Air, even if the retailer gives you more incentives & rebates. John's pricing is competitive even without the energy rebates. The big box retailer does a one time install--but almost all the retailers I contacted do not repair nor service existing ACs. Picco does all three, which means that after the install, you can hire Picco to service your AC & furnace for life. We spend tons of money servicing our car every year, why not service our homes for a lot less? John was the third company to come to our house to give us an estimate. We hired him, because he came across as honest, knowledgeable, and professional. During the SEER 16 install, we witnessed how meticulous he was about his work--both in installation and cleanup. I was referred to John Picco at Picco Air Control by another contractor. My job was big and involved repairing ductwork and fixing other problems in my AC system. John offered a very reasonable price. He was easy to reach on the phone, and he was always on time. Best of all, the work is perfect. He's a real craftsman who takes his time, does things right, and makes sure not to mess up your house while he works, the way some repairmen do. My system was leaking 45% of its air into the attic before John worked on it, and afterward the leakage in the whole system is only 8%. I follow Yelp for everyting and only comment when I experience something great or something not so good. But here's my opinion on Picco Air Control. Even though I could not go with Picco Air due to financing reasons of my choosing, Let me say this about John and Picco Air Control. There is a reason he is getting 5 stars on yelp. My AC went out over 2 weeks ago and I have had several AC guys come out for estimates. The other companies did a quick inspection of furnace in attic and compressor and were seated at the table talking prices in about 5 minutes! John and Alex?(forgot his name sorry) impressed me from the moment I opened my door. They both donned on surgical covers for their shoes!! WHAT? I told them they didnt have to but they insisted! Very nice touch cause you never know what they may have stepped in right! Then they started measureing the registers below and counting how many I had below before we went upstairs where they repeated the procedure. Next they climbed into the attic where I joined them and they were talking about the best way to tackle the job, which way to route the new vents etc. We must have spent a good 8 minutes up there talking about the best fit for my system. Not like the other guys who looked at what my current system (5ton) and simply swap it out for another 5 ton. WRONG ! John said the best way was to drop a 4 ton in and increase inlets and outlets! I didnt understand the process so I went online to an HVAC forum and found out that yes indeed that I didnt need a 5 ton unless I had more venting! John even double checked my compressor outside checked fuse box for it and said it was good. The others looked at it from 3 feet away and said OK. Then John went to my main circruit breaker to make sure it is good also. After all that, I invited them to sit down to talk price and he said he's not ready for that, he wants to go to office and DESIGN the right system for me! Wow makes perfect sense. Customize the right system for the house! The other companies asked me if I had any rooms that get hot or cooler then the others and I did say yes, all they did was say the new system will work way better than my 18 year old unit. John asked me and when I told him he measured registers again, said they will increase or decrease ducting to try and customize each room and add vent adjusters in the attic to better control air flow. I am super impressed with Picco Air and how John was in constant communication with me from text messages to phone conversations. Everything those 2 did were very professional. I am in sales and know what it takes to be just a salesman or a professional providing a service and John is definelty the latter. Even though I could not go with Picco Air due to the financing situation I am in, John recommended me another company and that I can call him anytime if I had questions with the other intstallers work. All is not lost, the heat is gone for now I hope so maybe I can find better financing so I can call on the team at Picco Air to do my AC install. Thanks a million John! read more

John from Picco Air Control is absolutely the best! I am not just saying this, I recently received service from John to fix my furnace. Before John came out, I had another company performed a diagnosis, which I had paid a fee for, the tech from the other company said I had to either replace 2 parts (transformer and flame sensor) for a really high price or replace my 17 years old furnace. Given both options sounded expensive, I checked with John how much he would charge to replace those two parts, his quote was much more reasonable than the first company, so I asked John to come out to help us, and agree to pay the diagnosis fee again. When John's tech came out, he cleaned the flame sensor and did not need to replace any part to get the furnace running, so save me a lot of money. I am so impressed by Picco Air Control's honest practice. Because I had already told them another company told me I needed two parts replaced, John could have totally just replaced those two parts, and I wouldn't think twice, but he chose the option that would save me the most money. Having had bad luck with poor customer service of one A/C company not long ago, I at first did not have high hope when contacting Picco on Friday late afternoon, Aug 19, 2016. However, John with Picco left his voice message within 45 minutes after contacting him. I got a text message again from John during the weekend for communication regarding my AC repair / replacement request. On Aug 22, 2016 Monday afternoon John showed up with a big smile! After I explained the situation, John physically checked the AC units. Surprisingly, John did not talk me out to replace with a new AC unit but trying to find the root cause with repair. That is unusual and honest! Before I met John, I had met several AC guys for my AC solution. All of them came up the answer was to sell me a new AC system except John!!!! John went above and beyond anything I would ever expect from a repair service. Not only did he come out the same day to check on my a/c that stopped working the night before guests were supposed to arrive, when he didn't have the equipment in his new truck (which he gave me forewarning about), he went and borrowed it from a friend, came back and tested my unit. He was completely up front and honest with me about the pricing and even told me to price out other companies after calling the builder of my home (since it is only 3 years old) and the a/c company that installed the unit to check for warranties.
