As promised in my original review, I came to Jon to replace our HVAC system. I can not begin to express how satisfied I am with his work. This update is for the new system install. Ethics He came to give me an estimate for the new system. He fixed the jacked up work anther AC guy did (see my review elsewhere (DO NOT GO TO THAT GUY - EVER!!). We replaced a newer furnace using the HERO program. John suggested I use the existing furnace to save money. Who does that?!? That would have cost him a few thousand dollars in revenue. Ultimately the old furnace would not qualify for HERO, so he spec'ed a hyper efficient furnace that fit into my budget. Quality. Jon's attention to detail was impeccable. Jon and his team took the time to measure and align everything. Even though the house is 40 years old, the new vents and air intakes look appropriate and like they belong there. When they cut in the vents and intake, they put a box over the open as they cut to contain the mess.At the end of each day, they swept up, even in the rooms he never did work in. The new system was relocated to the attic. This was to give us new space, and to make the air handling system more efficient. In the attic they framed in a new pad for the system and a walkway. All the new ducting is routed and suspended from the rafters. The outdoor unit looks fantastic. It was moved to the side and all hoses and wires were dressed and encased in a "gutter". Well, what can I say...John, Alex and his whole team are great! They are the nicest people I have ever had the pleasure to have work done on my home. They go above and beyond to ensure everything is not only done right but done with as little inconvenience as possible. They clean up every evening...John even swept the floors each night when they were done. When cutting the drywall for new vents, they held a lined box up to the ceiling to catch the dust. I literally had a whole new system, new AC and heater, new ducts in the attic, moved the AC unit to the side of the house, moved the heater to the attic and new vents installed...a week's worth of work...and there was NO cleanup on my part! John brought in people to repair the drywall where the old vents were and to paint. They did a great job and were also really easy to work with. They even replaced part of a baseboard that was missing when they closed up a vent in the hallway, matched the baseboards and painted it to match color. John then made sure they did a good job and ask how I liked them as I think he wants only good people on his team. John made sure to think ahead of things we may want to do in the future (ie: move the water heater) and made accommodations for that up in the attic in case we had to get to that area and wire it. My boyfriend wanted to put wires for the tv in the wall so not only did they drop some wires for him but they made sure to label them up there so he would know which ones they were! They are extremely thoughtful and willing to fix anything immediately. Their work ethic is amazing, they take time to be friendly and...to tell the truth I was a little sad to not get to see them anymore when it was their last day! Weird I know! I can not recommend them more from a work perspective, of which is absolutely stellar, but also as nice, honest, hard working, respectful people who get the job done with integrity and with a good attitude and ethic. I do not if anything yelp about services other than food but I needed to on this one. Wanted someone local that knows the area and aware of temps out here and found this company locally in Eastvale. Sent him a text and responded right away. I asked if they can come out and replied yes but not till the following day. I said yes but also requested if today was possible to let me know and i will accommodate the time. John (owner) was able to oblige and sent one of his tech Alex. 15 mins before he was supposed to come out, I got a message from John and said Alex will bot be coming out because his truck was broken into and tools were stolen. Instead of re-scheduling me for next day, he asked if i can wait another 20 mins and he will be out. I mean if that is not FREAKIN service in the hottest months of the year then I don't know what that is man... alot of companies can fix A/C issues which is not the problem, the service they provide and the willingness to deliver on that promise is what separates one company from the other. John came highly recommended by another AC guy that unfortunately fell ill and couldn't make the appointment. He showed up as promised and was very thorough with his analysis. He kept me in the loop with what he was doing and thinking making me more comfortable around my AC/furnace unit (I knew nothing about this stuff). In the end John was able to fix my problem same day. As luck would have it, he had the replacement parts in his truck. He even explained what I could do to make my AC more efficient. He educated me on the wiring setup in the main unit should I choose to upgrade my aging thermostat, saving me money by doing it myself. As someone coming from the IT field one other thing I noticed is how he cleaned up the wiring with zip ties and logging the date and work done on the unit for future techs. I called this morning to schedule an appointment and John was able to fit me in the late afternoon(same day). He arrived with Alex and they were very professional and friendly. John was very thorough and explained what he was doing at all times. His prices were also very reasonable. The price ended up being lower than what he originally quoted me. $80 trade call fee + $50 per pound of refrigerant. John was sent to my house by our landlord to fix our AC. He was very professional and friendly. After I told him what was going on, he knew right away the possible causes. Turns out the circuit board of our furnace needed to be changed. He had the parts in his van and was able to change it very quickly. I can't tell you if the pricing is good or not since he dealt with my landlord directly with that. I found John and Alex on Yelp, and called for their service three times. I have a demanding full time job and didn't ever meet them in person yet. 1) 2018 Summer. My rental house downstairs AC didn't work. John showed up on time and fixed. $80 charged. Fair and square. A couple of days later, tenant reported that AC failed again. They came back at no additional charge. (A) 2) Jan 2019. I changed smart thermostat of my own house and messed up, heater stopped working. Called John again. He told me it was very likely fuse blew out. Sent me pics of fuse and advised how to DIY. I'm not handy enough and turned to John. $80 charged. (A+++) 3) Feb 2019. The same rental downstairs heater didn't work. John charged $250 to replace the thermostat. It's not the "smart" or high-end model and you can buy one in Home Depot $40-70 without on sales. I thought it a bit ripped off, as replace thermostat is not that hard, and much easier than replacing heater fuse (you have to scrawl in attics). Somehow they charged more than twice of labor. $150-200 should be more reasonable. (B) I don't have any complaint against their service, just don't quite understand their pricing. read more

Recently had my HVAC unit serviced. Alex arrived on time, was super friendly and took all COVID precautions. He told me the diagnostics said low igniter. Not a significant issue that he took care of in a short amount of time. Alex entered a few minor changes to the thermostat at my request and patiently explained some tips & trick with the settings. If you're looking for an honest and reputable HVAC company, no need to look any further. Picco Air Control is the HVAC company that you can trust and provide honest recommendations regarding your A/C unit. Our A/C unit went out right in the middle of the heat wave this summer when temperatures topped at120 all weekend in the Inland Empire. Not a good time to have your A/C unit die. Our A/C unit would turn on and would then stop after two minutes. We went on Yelp and reached out to numerous HVAC companies with many of them not being able to set an appointment until the end of the week or providing us quotes to replace our unit without even taking a look at it first. Waiting until the end of the week was not an option and trusting someone's quote recommending to replace our unit without taking a look at it and checking the issue was not an option either. I continued to scroll through Yelp and came across Picco Air Control. All the reviews caught my attention because each reviewer mentioned how honest and friendly John and Alex were with their services. Most importantly, they didn't upsell any services but rather got into action to complete the work and provide their honest recommendations. It's exactly what we needed especially knowing that this would be a costly service. I immediately texted John at around 10:15 PM while we were dying inside our house with the temp rising at about 85. John responded within 15 minutes asking a couple questions and stated he would be available around noon the next day, Sunday. Can you find a HVAC company that's available the following day on a weekend without having to charge extra??? Hard to find. The following morning, John texted me letting me know that he was able to wrap up his first appointment and asked if he could come over earlier than our scheduled appointment since he knew we were miserable from the heat. John was prepared with his PPE gear and was very friendly and genuine. He looked at our unit and explained to us what the issue was and why the part needed to be replaced. He gave us the price for the part and labor which was very reasonable especially that he came out on a Sunday . We were lucky enough that John had the part readily available right there and then. He replaced the part and did a thorough job in making sure that he checked every component and provided us an update on each component's condition. After replacing the part, he tested it to ensure that our unit was working and boy did it work!!! The feeling of cold air quickly running in your house when the temp inside is 87 felt extremely good. Not only did air start blowing cold air, our A/C unit was a lot quieter than before. John followed up with me an hour later, in the evening and the following day to make sure everything was running well. He assured us before he left that the part he replaced has a two year warranty and that if there were any issues to just give him a call. We'll definitely give him a call for any of our A/C issues and told John that when the time comes to replace our unit which may be next year, he'll be our person to call to do the work. read more

I was looking for a HVAC tech to give me an estimate on how much it will cost to add a new vent. I called up one from YELP (he was booked) and he suggested John from Picco Air. Picco Air never came up for me when I did a search (I later find out that due to proximity of my city to his) but when his name came up and the reviews were 5 stars, I did not hesitate. My wife was home when John gave an estimate. My wife was very impressed with his attitude and attention to detail (wearing booties and making sure he did not make a mess). Winter was coming and it was obvious my 38 year old furnace was not capable of warming the house. I should mention the two story house was built in 1935 with a major add-on in 1965 where 1/3 of the house now had near floor to ceiling windows (heavy single-pane glass) and no insulation in the vaulted ceiling. During a test I could barely feel any air (warm or otherwise) coming out of the downstairs registers. I never had a furnace installed before and did not know where to start but I knew I would not deal with those huge operations that took out full page ads in the yellow pages and sent glossy mailers every other week. I wanted a small operation that stood behind their work and had permanent employees. I checked Yelp and found two shops nearby with good reviews. I called both for estimates. John Picco came first and spent 90 minutes doing the most thorough check that I had ever seen. During his review John kept me apprised of the conditions he was faced with and how he would overcome them. I could see that he was a perfectionist and that he knew his work; I also felt he was trustworthy. The second estimate took about half that time but he also seemed like a decent guy. When the estimates arrived John Picco's was about 25% higher. That disappointed me because I already decided John was the man for the job. I called him and asked if he was possibly overdoing it and could he cut back somewhere without affecting the quality of the job. He assured me his estimate was the proper way to address the needs at my house; the job would take him three days and he could not stand behind his work if he cut corners. I had already decided John was trustworthy and knew, in the end, I would get what I paid for. I gave John the job and the unique problems of my old house turned out to be more difficult than he expected. It ended up taking him five days and he never left before cleaning whatever mess he had made. He never once complained and I never once doubted that he was the right man for the job. His honesty and skill reminded me of old school journeymen I knew, when I was a kid, back east in the '60's. John Picco is everything we look for in American craftsmen and I would recommend him to anyone. By the way, those downstairs registers now blow hot air and make the house warmer than it has ever been in the 30-plus winters that I have lived here. read more

We run our air conditioning almost 24/7 as we have a daughter with medical needs that cannot tolerate heat. Was referred to Picco Air by my neighbor. Text John on a Sunday, responded right away with an estimate and scheduled Alex (tech) for Tuesday as requested. Alex was on time, very transparent with everything he did, showed me what the issues with my system were, fixed all of the issues and came in as quoted. Previous A/C company told me that my freon was very low on both units and would cost $180+ per lb. to fill. Alex filled one unit with one lb of freon (that's all that was needed). And charged significantly less. Previous A/C company put in an air filter 2/3rd the size required (unbeknownst to me). Alex replaced with proper size. Previous A/C company said whole system should be replaced. Alex said; system is still in good shape and to just make sure you regularly replace vent filters and rinse the unit filters once in a while. After agreeing on a date and time, John was at my door eager to fix my AC/FA unit. He arrived about 1/2 hour earlier which worked out even better for me. His first question was "do you know where the attic access is?" Then he wanted to know where the thermostat was and that's all he needed to know to get started diagnosing the problem. Picco Air is everything you'd expect (and more) from a company you hire and give your business to. Going above and beyond to make sure their customers are satisfied in every little aspect, when they don't even need to. Mindful, respectful, courteous, friendly and professional. Hard working (I spent an entire day out of the two they were here and there was no BSing and messing around). They were here to do a job and they did it. Exceptionally well. Any negative comments received for them are likely just "competition". I'm not sure that I've seen a company with 80 reviews and still maintain that five star rating.
