Piccolo is my hands-down favorite restaurant in the 417! I went to celebrate my birthday this weekend and I had been looking forward to it for a month now. I always get the cheese tortellini baked and add in chicken. It's so good that I've never convinced myself to order anything else, even though it all sounds amazing! I paired my meal with the moscato margarita, I love it because it's sweet and comes with an extra little vial of wine on the side to add in when you're running low. Stopped in around 3 on a Sunday on our way back to IA. I was told we had just missed the rush. Our hostess was very kind and accommodating. Our waitress, Lauren, was awesome. She gave me her top 3 favorites as recommendations- I went with the Seafood Ravioli and my sister went with her tried and true, Chicken Alfredo. I was curious how my sister would respond to the Chicken Alfredo because the last time I saw her eat it (at a different place) she sent it back to the kitchen twice and still wasn't happy. I really appreciated all the gluten free, vegan, and organic greens options. Seeing an Italian restaurant pull off such dietary inclusivity is impressive! We both ordered the Pink Bubbles Marg which comes with rock candy!! I've never had anything like it. It was so good and frankly, I can't stop thinking about it. The breadsticks are some of the best bread I've been offered at an Italian restaurant, garlicky and delicious. The organic green side salad was a masterpiece.. and especially delicious smothered in blue cheese. The Seafood Ravioli is EVERYTHING everyone says it is. It's a meal that is so good you want to eat it until you throw up, that's when you know you have found a food treasure. My sister LOVED the chicken Alfredo. I tried a bite, it was delectable. Lastly, we both chose a piece of the gluten free lemon/ Blueberry cake. I squirreled it away until I got home and could lay in my bed to eat it. Some cake is best ate horizontally. Much like everything else from this establishment, I inhaled it. 10/10 for atmosphere, service, and food. Really would like to come back and try some other goodies!! read more

Excellent service but mediocre at best Italian. The chicken Parmesan was dry, over cooked, very little red sauce on the dry chicken and very little Alfredo sauce on the noodles. Seafood dish was okay, pasta and sauce was pretty tasteless. Very disappointing experience and won't be back. read more

Service was excellent. Food was a grand disappointment. There is no way to taste individual foods when they are floating in sauce and cheese. I guess if I was craving a cheese dinner it would have been alright but out if 5 dishes that our table ordered, only 1 was 5 star and that was an appetizer. read more

One of my favorite places to go eat. The food always comes out hot full of flavor. Their sauces hit the spot. This place does not disappoint. Saturday afternoon at resturaunt and so far so good. Ordered the tomato bisque and parmesan risotto as appetizers. Great choice, very yummy! The bisque was very rich and creamy. The risotto balls were crispy and the mixture of Alfredo and marinara sauce was perfect. Stay tuned for report on our main course. Part 2, we had the Italian trio and the chicken parmesan. Both were very good and filling. The only two negatives were the croutons on the salad were too crunchy to the point of being hard. And the a.c. was too cold. Our waitress Chaslin was able to get the a.c. turned up so it got warmer . She was also very attentive and answered all our questions with patience. read more

My husband and I stopped in on a Saturday about 4:45. We were asked if we had a reservation, we said no. We were told they could not seat us and had no reservations open till 8:30pm. There were tables inside and out unoccupied. The website does not specify reservations only, otherwise we would have not just stopped in. I've only eaten here once but it was great! My mom and aunt and I are here the night before my wedding. We were seated next to a really rowdy group of ladies that had a lot of wine to drink. But that's no fault of the restaurant. I ordered steak and potatoes that was delicious! The steak was topped with some sort of herbed butter that was delicious. My mom and aunt got pasta with chicken I believe. They both loved their entrees too. I normally don't eat pasta because gluten doesn't sit well with me, but if I was going to have pasta, I'd want to come here. The atmosphere was great, service was good, and the prices were awesome. It's hard to believe the restaurant used to be a flea market. They did a beautiful job when they remodeled. It feels like a fancy night out, but the wallet doesn't hurt so bad afterward. I definitely recommend this restaurant. Nixa has come a long way with regard to the food scene, and a high quality Italian place is the perfect addition! read more
