Atmosphere like home, food done just right, veg choices, nice ambience and good pasta choices... Friendly staff and valet parking for an extra fee. The CTA blue line grand Station is right here as well as the bus. Very convenient. The dessert called Panna Cotta de Limone was very silky and a few tiny pieces of candied orange peel on top to offset the smooth flan like fluffy sweet. It's very tasty and not too sweet.

Closing out restaurant week with a trip to piccolo signo. Food was pretty solid. I would say the arabiatta sauce for the mussels was PHENOMENAL. after that the food was pretty solid, until you get to the desserts. Bravo on the tiramisu. Would recommend. The staff are friendly, food is solid, drinks are great, and the ambiance makes for a great dinner date. Would recommend.

Piccolo Sogno was an absolutely phenomenal experience and such a special night. From the moment we sat down, everything felt warm, intimate, and thoughtfully done. I ordered the Rosticciana with braised beef short ribs, local white corn polenta, sautéed greens, red wine, and aromatic vegetables. The short ribs were incredibly tender and full of flavor, and the polenta paired perfectly with the richness of the dish. My boyfriend got the Maiale al Latte, a Berkshire pork shank stewed with milk and fennel over mashed potatoes with Tuscan kale and pancetta, and it was just as amazing. Comforting, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. We ended the night with dessert, and it was the perfect finishing touch to an already incredible meal. The staff was excellent attentive, kind, and genuinely made the evening feel special. Overall, it was such a nice, sweet night with outstanding food and service. Easily a five star experience and a place we will absolutely be returning to.

This is one of my favorites spots in town. I've been there in many occasions. I love the patio in the summer time, the ambiance it's so beautiful in all the ways. And inside the restaurant it's having a tasteful layout and I love that the ambiance it's romantic with not so much light. The service it's always impeccable. I the Italian wines that the serve there are a very great selection. The food it's so good that you can't stop eating , from pasta , pizza , fritto misto, fish and beef dishes . The dessert it's the cherry on the cake! Congratulations to the Chef Tony Priolo and Mr. Ciro for this amazing location.

My family and I had reservations here last night before heading to a concert at the United Center. We drove and used their valet service, which was a nice touch and made arriving stress-free. We got there right as the restaurant opened for our 5:30 reservation, so we grabbed a drink at the bar while waiting for the rest of our party. The bartender was friendly and made an excellent Aperol spritz and old fashioned. The interior is cozy and moody in the best way, such a warm, inviting atmosphere. I'd love to come back during the warmer months to experience their outdoor seating. The menu is on the smaller side, but every item feels thoughtful and unique. Our entire group ended up ordering from the specials: the Cacio e Pepe and the risotto. Everyone loved their dish. I had the Cacio e Pepe and thoroughly enjoyed it. It's one of those dishes that's deceptively simple but easy to get wrong, and they nailed it--the cheese-to-pepper ratio was perfect, and the texture of the green noodles was such a fun touch. We finished the night by sharing the tortino dessert, which was a hit with all of us. Overall, I'm really glad we chose Piccolo Sogno for our pre-concert dinner. I'd definitely come back to try more of the menu!

Great food with big taste and good ingredients. Fast service, nice staff, gorgeous Bernini mural outside, and it's always a pleasure to be here. Could eat the ravioli every day

Went to Piccolo for my pre birthday celebration We were welcomed with complementary bread basket and it was a delight. As vegetarian there are limited options but still enough to enjoy the meal. Service was on spot with the staff being super polite. Loved the gnocchi and the dessert. The truffle mushroom spaghetti was full of umami flavor but it needs something to break the monotonous flavor profile. Ambiance was perfect for a date night.

This place may have the nicest back patio in the city! So big and spacious and laced with lights above. I've often heard about the awesomeness of this space and finally came by for a bday dinner recently! Our server Leonardo was such a good dude with a great sense of humor and took extra good care of us! Food was really good! We started with the Pesche salad which was a great started. Includes arugula, goat cheese, peaches and lemon oil..fantastic! Ravioli Piccolo Sogno was exceptional as it includes four cheese ravioli, pine nuts, butter, marsala glaze and parmesan curls. The Halibut Al Forno was delicious as well! The portions are a nice size and they are more than willing to split everything into 2 plates if you are sharing. Washed it all down with a couple of very good filthy martinis. Love this place and will need to return a couple more times before summer is over!

An incredible NYE meal!! We loved their Rosa pizza and even ordered it twice! Their okie oil and sauces are flavored to perfection!

Piccolo Songo has a lovely patio and a great location. Right off the El plus a small valet lot onsite. Valet is not free, but he was very nice and I didn't have to hunt for parking in a busy area at sometime. Wine menu is fantastic. Lots of good options. My food was okay. In defense of the establishment, our options were limited on an event pre-set menu. If I went back I'd try other things. The presentation of the salad was lovely. Straw pasta was lovely to look at and probably homemade. Servers professional.

Everything was delicious and the staff was great. I think the portions need to be way bigger lol. Extensive wine list with affordable options. A lot of seating but I would still make a reservation because it was packed.

Had dinner at this place while in Chicago and it was my least favorite. The best thing was the bread. Personally I felt like the entrees were prepared and sat under a light. The pastas tasted chalky. My waiter didn't speak much English and could really describe the various entrees.

Risotto and ragu I took a fork full before I took the picture.

3 of us back for a wonderful meal and great service. They do everything right and it feels so Italian! Alejandro gave us great service and food suggestions. They had some nice specials and minestrone soup was one of them and it was delicious. Another special was risotto and a ragu which was perfectly prepared. Branzino was another special and after showing it from the kitchen they deboned it perfectly. The last entree was Pages E Fieno, green and white ribbon pasta with a veal ragu. After all of that we shared some gelato. They have valet parking on the property which makes it easy to come for dinner!

How is parking for this place? Should I look for a SpotHero or is it easy to find?

Metered parking is available and valet too

Can you eat dinner at the bar?

Yes. I've eaten at the bar several times. A TV too.

    Is this place BYOB?

Hi,unfortunately I don't think so,a lot of customer ordered a bottle/glasses of alcohol as far as I saw.

Does anyone know if the patio is open in the fall (early October)?

Absolutely yes! Patio typically open weather permitting. We spent one magical March evening outside eating a divine dinner ( don't remember if the heaters were used or not!)

    Is this place kids friendly?

Not bad but it's a little upmarket, depends on ages of kids. Not really for toddlers, not because I'm sure the restaurant wouldn't accommodate but more because of other diners on expense accounts who might give dirty looks:)

Is patio seating first come first serve or do you need a reservation?

Even if you have a reservation, you may have to wait longer for an outdoor table. One year for my birthday (we come here most years for my birthday because we live so close) we had to wait 45 minutes past our reservation time for a patio seat. But… Read more

Are dogs allowed in the patio?

Not sure if pets are allowed on the patio.

    How is the pizza?

Delicious! I got the Bianca and really enjoyed it

    The dressy end of casual.

Normally I hate those kinds of large group dinners, but this was the perfect spot for it. The service was absolutely wonderful. If you have seen any of my other reviews, I always get a meatball when I'm at a place that has them. They almost never live up to my expectation. But this place has the new gold standard for a meatball. It was everything you want. It is fork tender, full of flavor, no chewy ground up bits. The pizzas were authentic and thin. With fabulous house made red sauce that wasn't too thick and overwhelming. The flavor was A+ The cocktails were so good! All made from scratch with love. The ambiance was cozy and comfortable. We had visited Florence last year, and one of the numerous wonderful moments of our trip to Italy was seeing "Il Porcellino" - the lucky bronze boar fountain that draws tourists from around the world. A copy of the boar stands proudly near the entrance of the restaurant, and though it is not as old as the original 1634 sculpture, it was a charming reminder of our amazing Italian holiday. Did I mention that the weekday Happy Hour (4-6PM) specials are quite good? The specials are served only at the bar area, so you might have to wait a few minutes for available seating. We started with some drinks, including two kinds of Negroni. The wild mushroom arancini (5 little balls for $6) were the smallest I've tried, but they were creamy and melt-in-your mouth delicious. The whipped ricotta and jam beautifully served on a strip of toasty focaccia was a unique taste sensation. Prime beef meatballs and short rib sliders on toasted ciabatta bread also hit the spot. Even though we were merely dining at the bar, we enjoyed the overall vibe of the restaurant. There are lots of photos on the walls, interesting lighting from the ceiling, nice serving dishes, and servers who seem to know who their regular diners are. We look forward to returning to Il Porcellino, to bask in that indescribable feeling of being in Italy again.

It's one of those places that you find yourself talking about long after the meal is over. The garlic bread alone is worth the visit. They pour what feels like a gallon of garlic butter over it, and somehow it's still never enough. It's rich, indulgent, and absolutely delicious. We order it every single time and would probably be disappointed if we didn't. The real star of the show, though, is the lasagna. Between the two of us, we've had lasagna at countless restaurants, and nothing has come close to this one. It's hands down the best lasagna we've ever had. Perfect layers, incredible flavor, and the kind of comfort food that makes you want to savor every bite. Their Grey Goose espresso martini is also unmatched. We've tried espresso martinis all over Chicago, and this one is still our favorite. It's smooth, perfectly balanced, and the ideal way to start or end the meal. The atmosphere is another reason we love coming here. The restaurant is gorgeous inside, with a dark, moody vibe that makes it feel special without being stuffy. Reservations are released 21 days ahead of time, which I personally find impossible to make. Every time I've checked over the last several years there have been no availability. The weather was perfect for outdoor dining so I went ahead and booked a table for Friday night. I felt like I won the dinner lottery. Service was wonderful and I didn't mind sitting outside at all next to the road with cars. I actually never stepped foot in the restaurant so cannot comment on what it's like inside. But do not give up that patio dining reservation if it's available. All of our dishes were delicious. I was really impressed by the meatball appetizers, chicken vesuvio (the potatoes are a must get as a side if you skip this dish), and branzino. The meats and sauces were wonderfully balanced and tender. Nothing tasted overly salted. Ironically, the pasta felt less of a star compared to the other dishes.
