The Pasta Bowl has been our go-to for work catering two years in a row, and our team really enjoys it! This year we ordered Caesar salad, bruschetta, Conchiglie Gorgonzola, Farfalle Pollo, cookies, cheesecake, and assorted drinks. The Farfalle Pollo is always a crowd favorite, and the Conchiglie Gorgonzola was a great vegetarian option. The delivery person did an excellent job setting everything up for us. The cheesecake was stellar, and the bruschetta was also a new hit for our team. Consistently great food, good portions, and reliable service make The Pasta Bowl perfect for office events.

Every dish felt like a warm hug--fresh pasta, rich flavors, and zero shortcuts. The kind of place where you accidentally clean your plate and start planning your next visit before the check even comes. Cozy, comforting, and seriously worth it.

Based on my recent order, my honest review would be 1 star. However, I have been here multiple times and have enjoyed it, so I've decided to average it at a 3. I ordered the lucky penne pasta with chicken and bread service for delivery. I was craving pasta and remembered the last time I went with my friend she had ordered the lucky penne and it was sooo good and I loved the creamy chipotle sauce. So you can imagine how disappointed I was when I received my order and the pasta was not at all creamy and/or good. The flavors were off and it genuinely looked/ tasted like someone just threw together a bunch of left over ingredients to make a "end of the week meal." You know the ones you make when you're trying to make use of all the left over groceries. I was also really disappointed that the "bread service" just came with 4 tiny slices of bread (which were soggy bc it came in an air sealed tight plastic container). I'm so bummed that I paid extra for delivery as a special "treat" for myself and ended up just eating what I meal prepped for myself.

Pasta Bowl was a great find--easy to locate and very budget-friendly. We arrived around 6 p.m. on a Saturday evening and were seated right away. Our server greeted us promptly and made us feel welcome from the start. The food was flavorful and satisfying. We ordered the Farfalle Pollo, which was especially delicious with a sprinkle of red pepper flakes; the Lobster Ravioli, which was just okay; and the Rigatoni Bolognese, which was hearty and well done. Service was efficient and friendly, and the overall experience was smooth--we were in and out within an hour, making it a perfect casual dinner spot.

Takeout order. Just loved it! Great value, flavor, and portion size. I got the bolognese and it was excellent. Comes with a slice of bread but I also ordered the bread service which came with a nice butter liquid. I will definitely be ordering again!

I truly miss this place by like 15 years. I know! Life happens (like kids!) We originally wanted to go somewhere else by this place but the place was packed and the kids said why don't we try pasta bowl. So I said YES. Last time I went here was 15 years ago with my husband when we were still dating Service - The server was amazing. He made us feel like home. He easily set the table for the 5 of us and everything was fast. Food - OMG!!!!!!!!! The portions were LARGE. My kids literally said they could finish it for one week (which was a lie!). I did however finish it for lunch dinner and lunch again Price - totally worth the buck! I would totally come here again and this time I will not take 15 years to come back.

A small and cute restaurant perfect for a night out to grab some quick pasta! There is a decent amount of seating and we were able to get a table for 2 immediately. The rigatoni pesto was a special dish that they were offering and the Farfalle pollo is listed as their signature dish. Both were absolutely delicious! Both were huge portions of pasta to the point that we probably could have ordered one and shared it. The prices are very reasonable for the portion sizes and the quality of food. Definitely a great option for affordable and quick pasta!

The food was delicious. I got a bowl of pasta and chicken with Alfredo on 4 out of 5 and it was very spicy and very delectable. The cheese was meaty and good. I also got jalapeños, which made the noodles spicy. The bread was soft and supple. The service was fast, friendly, and warm. The atmosphere was cozy, chill, and comfortable. My wife, friends, and I sat in the booth. Although there were a lot of us they let us rearrange the set up of the restaurant a little so everybody could fit by the booth. They're really friendly and chill, highly recommend.

My friend and I wanted a quick bite and a drink and found this place via Yelp. The place was near by and the reviews and pics convinced us to try the place out. It was a Friday night and there was no wait to be seated. We got the wings (10pc) which was really solid Buffalo wings! Crispy, juicy and right amount of spice. Also they have Moscow mules (house) for only $6! Solid tasting and not even happy hour. I didn't try the pasta but if it's anything like their wings then it's gotta be good. If you want a late night wings and drinks, I would highly recommend this place.

The food here is fine, looks good, tastes good. No issue there. But the people working here? Whole other story. Ethan, especially -- probably the "highlight" of the night. If you're brown like me, well, good luck! There, I said it. The first time I came here with friends, we loved it. That's why we came back. Shouldn't have bothered. My girlfriend ordered chipotle pasta, loved it. I didn't, so I ordered chicken parm. I forgot to say white sauce -- my bad -- but I apologized and asked if they could make it that way. No problem, all good. I paid upfront, tipped him $5 cash (which is what I could afford as an international student), and went back to enjoying dinner. Asked for a coke refill. Now, there were little to no customers in the restaurant, so this wasn't exactly a rush-hour situation. Still, we waited almost 30 minutes. Nothing. My girlfriend even tried calling him over twice -- he flat-out ignored us. Then, of course, we see him happily pouring cokes for other people. Because apparently, a simple refill for us was just too much. At that point, I had to go ask someone else for a takeaway box. Meanwhile, Ethan vanished to the bar like he was hiding from us. Finally, when we're getting ready to leave, I ask for him, and he magically reappears with a half-filled to-go cup of coke. And his excuse? "I'm just busy." Busy? In a restaurant with barely any customers? That's a new definition of busy. So yeah, grow up Ethan. Learn what respect looks like. I know, crazy idea -- we're all human beings, shocking right? Pasta Bowl, maybe stop hiring servers who think customer service depends on skin color or tip size. Maybe if I'd slipped him $50 he would've remembered I exist. But no thanks. I was recommending Pasta Bowl to friends -- not anymore. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice? Yeah, I'm done.

Normally I hate those kinds of large group dinners, but this was the perfect spot for it. The service was absolutely wonderful. I don't know how our server stayed so cool and calm with a group that size. We got a variety of things. EVERYTHING was amazing. If you have seen any of my other reviews, I always get a meatball when I'm at a place that has them. They almost never live up to my expectation. But this place has the new gold standard for a meatball. It was everything you want. It is fork tender, full of flavor, no chewy ground up bits. The pizzas were authentic and thin. With fabulous house made red sauce that wasn't too thick and overwhelming. The flavor was A+ The cocktails were so good! All made from scratch with love. The ambiance was cozy and comfortable. It's one of those places that you find yourself talking about long after the meal is over. The garlic bread alone is worth the visit. They pour what feels like a gallon of garlic butter over it, and somehow it's still never enough. It's rich, indulgent, and absolutely delicious. We order it every single time and would probably be disappointed if we didn't. The real star of the show, though, is the lasagna. Between the two of us, we've had lasagna at countless restaurants, and nothing has come close to this one. It's hands down the best lasagna we've ever had. Perfect layers, incredible flavor, and the kind of comfort food that makes you want to savor every bite. Their Grey Goose espresso martini is also unmatched. We've tried espresso martinis all over Chicago, and this one is still our favorite. It's smooth, perfectly balanced, and the ideal way to start or end the meal. The atmosphere is another reason we love coming here. The restaurant is gorgeous inside, with a dark, moody vibe that makes it feel special without being stuffy. It's the perfect date night spot whether you're celebrating something or just looking for a great night out together. If you're visiting Chicago and love Italian food, Il Porcellino is a must. Great food, amazing drinks, beautiful ambiance, and a meal you'll be thinking about long after you've left. We make a point to visit every time we're in town, and it never disappoints.

For appetizers, we ordered the While Garlic Loaf Focaccia and the Stuffed mushrooms. I wished I took a video when the focaccia arrived. The waiter, holding a plate with a round and fluffy focaccia and proceeded to pour the garlic et al on top of the bread! Very freshly-made and fabulous! The stuffed mushrooms were also cute delicious! This is a rare time where the stuffing had spinach below the stuffing - excellent! I remember seeing (and enjoying) this while I visited Italy. Delightful! The main courses we ordered were the Gnocchi Bolognese, the Baked Burrata Lasagna and the Barolo Braised Short Rib. The Gnocchi meat sauce was the standout here, being very flavorful, but not as heavy as some other restaurants. The Gnocchi were dense - not fluffy as I had expected. But the sauce flavor was vivid. The Baked Burrata Lasagna was oh, so perfect! Many layers of al dente pasta separates with a tasty meat sauce. Many times I have had lasagna that was either over-baked, or had limp pasta. Here, the lasagna shined! So large of a serving that my wife could not finish it, much to her dismay . . . I had the Barolo Braised Short Rib - oh my living god! - so tender, so complete a dish, with the fork tender meat that melts in your mouth, complimented by a light polenta (I must emphasize the lightness here, as many restaurants serve polenta that is heavy and too rich. This did not compete with the short rib, rather it seamlessly became the foundation on which the richness of the meat was enhanced. I was blown away! But, the most amazing, and probably the most delectable part of the evening was finishing off with a luscious Chocolate Cake! OH, WOW!!! The cake was certainly moist and smooth. Yes, smooth! I could not tell there was cake at all, so smooth it was! And surprisingly (not surprising given the quality of this establishment) it wasn't too sweet, rather just enough to bring out the chocolatey goodness! I only wished that I ordered some hot coffee - the cake would have gone well with a great cup of coffee! Overall, I was very impressed with this restaurant! The old-town decor, the dim lights, the fantastic food (just like of the Italy of old!)- all contributing to a wonderful experience! Highly recommended!

Reservations are released 21 days ahead of time, which I personally find impossible to make. Every time I've checked over the last several years there have been no availability. Yesterday I decided to pop on their website again and was delighted to find that they had released same day dinner reservations for patio only dining. The weather was perfect for outdoor dining so I went ahead and booked a table for Friday night. I felt like I won the dinner lottery. Service was wonderful and I didn't mind sitting outside at all next to the road with cars. I actually never stepped foot in the restaurant so cannot comment on what it's like inside. But do not give up that patio dining reservation if it's available. All of our dishes were delicious. I was really impressed by the meatball appetizers, chicken vesuvio (the potatoes are a must get as a side if you skip this dish), and branzino. The meats and sauces were wonderfully balanced and tender. Nothing tasted overly salted. Ironically, the pasta felt less of a star compared to the other dishes. And of course I had to get the gelato, which was so aesthetically presented and the taste just reminded me of an Italian summer vacation.
