The best thing about this restaurant was our waitress although she brought us a cocktail when we ordered an Arnold Palmer. I guess they have a cocktail with a similar name but it's not very tasty. Ordinarily this wouldn't be a problem but we had a long drive ahead of us and it was before noon. So be specific when ordering. My friend loved the crabcake sandwich. My veggie burger was burnt to a blackened crisp and wasn't very good. I upgraded to onion rings (from chips) and they arrived ice cold with my burnt burger. read more

I've tried to enjoy this place two times now - once last year & once this year. #1 Because my ID (horizontal not vertical) is from Connecticut, they bent it in half to the point of it being bent permanently bent while checking that I was 21+ #2 Charged me 2x with an added tip I never put myself because my experience was that awful (transactions were not pending on my Amex but posted) #3 Was asked to see my ID 2 more times while being here already & even given a 21+ bracelet. Not thrilled with my order. Food was cold when I received it (I used a meal delivery service, so I recognize that this may contribute to the food temperature, though they arrived within 10 minutes of picking up our order). The French onion soup was a cold blob, as the croutons soaked up all the broth. I asked for extra cocktail sauce to go with my fried shrimp; instead, I didn't receive any at all. We ordered the cheesesteak egg rolls - they didn't have any. (Suspecting that the rest of the food sat there getting cold while our delivery driver asked them to replace the egg rolls with a cheesesteak sandwich.) My fries were cold and dry - inedible. This place is great. The atmosphere is great. Typical bar/restaurant. Service is great. And the food we had, outstanding. Steamed shrimp are very flavorful. Best I ever had. The flounder tacos were yummy and the combination platter "whale something" was excellent. Highly recommend if you're in this area. Huckleberry and crush drinks are good. Waited to get seated for about 5-10 minutes, got seated, waited a good 20 minutes before we had to flag someone down to get drinks and appetizers and order our food. Waited about 45 minutes to a hour because on their nasty menu showed rules of the pub that came off a little dickish. Turned out the Waiter that took our order didn't even put the order through but came back and said the kitchen "lost the ticket". We walked out. Never would go back here again. Decided to watch the games at Pickles Pub this past Sunday (10/7). The drink specials were reasonably priced and they had some great specials for food. Placed a drink order and 20 minutes later the pitcher arrived. Unfortunately you also need glasses/cups to take advantage of what is in the pitcher. Asked the server and was told that she'd be right back. 15 minutes later went to find out where the glasses were. She was standing by the front door and had forgotten. We had also decided to take advantage of the wings for the game. Placed our order before kickoff and was told three times that our order would be out soon. When halftime arrived (90+ minutes later) we finally decided that enough was enough. During this period of time we had to ask twice for the manager and when she finally showed up, she told us that our original order had been canceled. Why we were told three time prior that our order would be our shortly if it had been canceled is a mystery. The good news - for a party of four we ended up getting our $7.50 pitcher of beer comped. To sit there 90+ minutes waiting for food that never showed up, getting a free pitcher of beer does not equal a return trip. This is a place that we had been to in the past and had always enjoyed. Based on the complete lack of customer service and the "so what" attitude that was clearly displayed by the manager, we will not be returning. read more

I never write review for bars but the guest service at this bar is terrible. On the first night we went to this bar I placed an order for wings and fries. Not only was the food terrible but the bartender didn't inform me that the food would be half price if I would've waited five minutes to play the order. So after being pissed off about that I took it as a loss. The next day we wanted to come back for the all you and eat wings. The bartender Jen W. was the only working the entire bar. My group of ten friends from PA ordered drinks and you could tell she was stressed out. While ordering she made a big ordeal about us not saying we wanted the wing special. When she came back I began to order to which she interrupted me saying "no you can't f*****g order it like that!" I've never been spoken to like that at a bar in front of my friends. I let it go though but after that she became aggressive and rude. We asked for a manager and had to workers come out and tell us everyone has a bad day. The "manager" said to me he couldn't understand what the issue is. Let's just say Jen missed out on over $120 worth of tips because none of us tipped her after that. Lesson learned I will never return to Pickles in Ocean City. read more

This evening we had six guests. The service was absolutely horrendous. The waitress , NOT ONCE, paid attention to the table as a whole. If one person asked for a beer she never asked anybody else if they were ready for a drink, too. Two guys ordered burgers one medium rare one medium they were both over cooked and well done. We had two orders of fish and chips and , pretty much, the most pathetic pieces of the fish you've ever seen. Small chunks over fried and no flavor. The crabby tater tots were actually very good. I had a great time here a few summers ago when some friends and I were looking for a place to hang out on a Tuesday in July. When you're on vacation, you're ready to party no matter what night of the week it is and the typical tourist spots weren't really happenin'. A guy at Seacrets recommended Pickles so we checked it out. They had $2 Miller Lites which were good enough for that night. I didn't have any cash so I had a great time getting people to pour me free beer into a Frisbee I got from one of the Miller girls. The place was pretty crowded but we managed to snag a booth. We joked around and met some cool people. I'm pretty sure we closed down the bar. Long story long, if you're looking for a place to chill with some locals near the boardwalk this place ain't a bad choice. read more

I've given this place so many chances...each time I think it must be a new bartender and think that's why the service is so bad, but I'm wrong. (It's most likely due to the bartenders watching tv/taking shots behind the bar while ignoring customers). No way I should have to wait 20 minutes for a drink when there are 2 bartenders and 8 other customers. Over-priced drinks, warm bombs served, extremely slow service, over-charged/pending charges still on my credit card with no return phone calls from management, etc etc. Any time there is ever an issue, the customer is made to feel like a burden. Bad experience every time regarding service and ridiculous prices, much better places in OC. The good part of Pickles? They have a basketball machine and there is an occasionally nice bartender. read more

Saturday evening-ish, around 5:30 or so. Not busy at all, but it took the bartender almost 10 minutes to take our drink order. We were about to walk out, but then she came over. We ordered food, and it was only o.k. Their fried pickles were some of the worst I've ever had, which is kind of weird for a place called Pickles. Staff is very inattentive. Some people came in and sat next to us. Other people came in about 5 minutes later, and they got waited on right away, while the people next to us were still waiting to be acknowledged. A big group of us went to watch teh Phillies game. The food was okay, nothing great. I asked the waitress what she recomended, she said the pizza and burgers were good......not so much. She must have never had real pizza because it wasn't good. It was edible, but nothing liked the pizza around here. Add this one to our favs in ocmd. Great place to go and not break the bank. They have a daily happy hour from 4-7. Food is great bar food. A group of four of us went there about a week ago and we all ordered something different with no complaints. Try the fried ravioli. The only negative about pickles is there can be some scary locals in the bar. Still has a good mix of customers. We try make it to pickles every time we're in ocmd. read more

Eat here if you like being horribly disappointed and poisoned. The drink I ordered came out with whipped cream, I apologized for not telling her before but I CAN NOT EAT DAIRY. New drink comes and I take a small sip, tastes like. Milkshake. The waitress is gone (we never saw her again till our food came out) so we get up and ask the bar tender, it's ice cream and booze. Awesome. The apps came out and my friends salad was literally huge pieces of romaine lettuce ripped from the stalk and covered in cheese and there was no silverware for her. The rest of our food finally came out and we got the wrong food, her mac s d cheese was Kraft and my medium burger was raw. I spoke to what I thought was the manager and told her I wasn't paying for food we didn't eat and the drink that milkshake. It took pulling out an epipen for this woman to take me seriously which should never happen. read more

The atmosphere is warm and inviting. The menu looked well thought out and included an impressive draft list. However, after sitting at our table for more than 15 minutes without any service we decided to leave. Not the best place in town. Dark, table was sticky, bathrooms were dirty, food was less than desirable and their "Philly Cheesesteak" is an insult to Philly. I would give this place five stars as pub only. The bar is great and very comfortable feeling and great beer and as a hangout yes yes yes. As for the food (that we tried) very disappointing. Fried pickles we're not good at all. At a place called pickles!??? The spears were ok but the slices um no. And the nachos were crap. Just chips and cheese. No chili maybe one or two beans.
