I thought this pub was alright and seems like a fun place to hang out. The cocktail that the bartender made for me was good but I didn't particularly like the crab dip because there were pieces of either pickles or jalapeño in the dip. Went back to Pickles again yesterday and Katie was our bartender. Everything was great again. Our nice long weekend has come to an end because work sucks and it gets in the way of all the fun we could be having in life. We're stopping at Pickles again before we leave as we have no idea when we'll be back in Ocean City. Also have to get another order of wings before leaving. We go to Pickles at night all of the time and have always had great service, even when they are very busy. We arrived about 4:30 PM, on a Sunday afternoon, with about 10 people in the place. We could not get any service from the bar tender. She gave us menus and I kept going to the bar and she was just talking to people. I went to another bar tender after waiting a while. She was on the other side of the bar. She was also talking with a couple for a long time. She told me to go back to the other side and that the first bar tender would help us. We got frustrated and decided to leave and go somewhere that we could get better service. read more

This bars service is abysmal. You'd think walking into such a spacious place that it would pay off. You were wrong. The employees here are horrible, and they know it too. Locals are nasty, except for a select few. Getting a drink is relatively easy if that's all your looking for, but if you're looking for good vibes this place is just f**king disgusting. I hate these people with all my heart, the employees and the bouncers are irrational and terrible people. My despise for them is so strong it's ridiculous. So the bouncer wouldn't let us in (gay couple) because my husband had a tank top on instead of a t-shirt so his shoulders were open. I went in to talk to the staff and what I saw was a lot of women with uncovered shoulders including staff members. Was actually surprised by this joint. Pool tables, small dance floor, lots of setting and a full 360 bar area. We were hossed when we got there, and had a good time. Tried to go here to play a couple games of pool and have some drinks with my friends. I am from Miami Fl and the bouncer told me my ID was fake (The same real ID I used to get through TSA earlier in the day) the bouncer confiscated my ID and told me the only way to get it back was to call the police... I asked the bouncer for the address and all he said was tell them you're and at pickles and go outside. He then opened a bag of Cheetos and sat there munching while I called 911. The police came and confirmed it was real and gave me my ID back. The bouncer never apologized for the inconvenience or embarrassment he just caused due to his lack of training. As the manager of a night club in Miami this was appalling service and I can happily say I will never be returning. read more

This pub was truly a mediocre sports bar with awful food. Our waitress only stopped by the table when I flagged her down. We were seated next to 4 large trash cans (the rest of the place was reserved by another party). Our food was bland and greasy. My food was swimming in oil and the lettuce in my salad was all shriveled and brown it was very obvious that someone in the kitchen did not care. I do not recommend this place! First of all, As a bartender you should be educated in different forms of IDs and know that every state is different, ESPECIALLY when you're bartending in a tourist beach town. Came here to watch football and baseball games during the off-season. Sat at a table by the bar for 20 minutes with no service. Figured we'd have to go the the bar and that there wasn't a server in that section. After getting our drinks from the bar, the sever came over. When we said we had just ordered from the bar because we didn't know there was a server; he responded with "sit at the bar". We hadn't been to Pickles Pub for a couple of years, but happily decided to go there for lunch because they have 1/2 price wings on Mondays; wife loves wings. I'd looked at the menu on-line last night and had decided to get one of the so-called "Teasers," the fried shrimp basket. Don't let the "Teasers" label mislead you -- this was a full meal. Seven huge jumbo shrimp in a fantastic and tasty batter, cooked perfectly (no rubbery or mushy shrimp) with a large helping of boardwalk fries. Those fries alone would bring me back. My wife got her wings extra crispy, with an agave sauce and blue cheese. I had to try one, and they were really cooked to perfection. She also got the Brussels sprouts with a chili sauce. She loved 'em, but I can't attest to their quality since I'm just not a sprout fan. Finally, my wife got the pulled pork sandwich (almost all of which came home for later snacking). I had a bite of that and agree with her assessment that it was good and that the BBQ sauce was very good -- fries dipped in that BBQ instead of ketchup were excellent. The last thing was a side of potato salad, which just needed some celery to make it great -- we got a to-go order of that, too. Making the whole experience really great was the service. Horrible all around! Called to make a reservation before we walked over 2 miles with 5 kids. They said no problem, come in. We got there exactly at the time we said we would, and the hostess told us that they were no longer seating people, as the kitchen was 'overwhelmed'. So i explained the situation to her, that we had given our name, number of people and time and that they had told us our reservation was confirmed. She said 'i don't care, we won't seat you, kitchen is busy'. So i asked, 'can we sit and just have a few drinks while we wait?'. She said no. We were all completely shocked and frustrated! Great place to hang out, play pool and watch sports! Kind of dingy but what do you expect from a sports bar. Went to watch Liverpool in the middle of the day and it was empty. Got the frickles which were amazing, and the buffalo shrimp tacos, both split with 2 people. The crush drinks were amazing, especially the grapefruit. There was only one waitress taking care of the few of us, but overall service wasn't bad. I'd definitely want to check it out during the night time to see how lively it gets. read more

The managers of the place harassed my family and children. I've never seen anything like this. Not only that, they wouldn't stop insulting our table. Even the waiter who was great was upset about having to clean up the mess that management made. They were drinking before their shift and throwing ice. It was unreal. Then they tried to blame us for bringing kids into the establishment. It was 7:00 and they have a kids menu. It also states that they have the restaurant open to children until 9.
