Stopped into pickles during the off season for happy hour on a Tuesday. Their happy hour deals are pretty good but the menu is limited. I like this Pickles because it's close to the boardwalk and it's very spacious inside. There's an outdoor patio, tons of seating, pool and other games, and a stage for bands/live music. The bartender was attentive and the food came out hot. My boyfriend liked the shrimp and the serving of fries was massive. You only get 3 mozz sticks with your order but they're pretty large sticks. It's fun to visit in the off season for sure!

Service: We ended up at Pickles Pub for game day, and thankfully they had all the games showing across multiple screens, big and small. We were seated quickly, and our waiter was friendly and helpful in walking us through the menu options. Taste: The game day menu was impressive, with plenty of choices under $10. We ordered the fried pickles, wings with Old Bay sauce, and fries. Everything came out hot, well-seasoned, and delicious. The drinks were also great--we tried the Ravens Crush and an Old Fashioned, both made perfectly. Ambiance: The energy was lively and fun, just what you want for a game day spot. It's definitely a place where you can enjoy good food, good drinks, and great company. Overall Review: Pickles Pub delivers the full sports bar experience--affordable menu, fast service, and a great atmosphere. I'll definitely be back for another game day.

Fun little dive bar in the middle of Ocean City. Some decent happy hour prices. Everyone seems to love the pickle shots... I did not partake. Their burgers were very good, The hangover Burger was delicious. It says they have house-made chips but they seem just like a bag of potato chips with old Bay poured on top... I would say go with the upgraded fries. The Hot BBQ wings were tasty, they are award-winning according to their menu. They were nice big wings with good flavor. Inside is a bar, tables, high tops, they have pool tables. Place is covered with stickers and signs fun things to look at. They do have a stage for music during the on season probably. Place wasn't too crowded but service was very slow. They were very friendly just slow. Probably a really fun place to hang out during the busy season.

Servers were nice, attentive, and drinks came regularly. That is the best things I can say. Friend ordered chicken wings and they were raw. And the bathroom is absolutely disgusting.

Hey friends! I was on the hunt for good restaurants open during off-season. The official OC Facebook page recommended Pickles Pub so I decided to try them out. Pickles Pub serves typical American-fare bar food. I was super excited to come to OC for some fresh seafood. So, I ordered the shrimp basket for takeout. I'm still thinking about those shrimp LOL. They were so good! Other than needing more seasoning, they were fresh and cooked to perfection. Fries were cooked perfectly as well. They also had a slight vinegar taste, which I enjoyed. I definitely will be back during peak-season for more fried shrimp and to check out their live events lol. Enjoy! With love, The Picky Pescatarian

    Raw shrimp

Probably wouldn't return. 1) We ordered a mixed drink and a beer. I did not get Captain Morgan as requested but I was assured that's what I was served. 2) The pretzel appetizers were good. They came with 3 different dipping sauces which was a treat. 3) We ordered the fried shrimp basket and the chicken sandwich. The shrimp were raw and the chicken was tough and strangely crunchy. 4) We received a $5 credit on our bill for being served raw shrimp. Not the best customer service when you think that I may have left with a food borne illness. Perhaps comping the meal would have been a more prudent move. 5) Our server, the "Twerk King", was friendly and efficient. 6) Lastly, the bathroom was disgusting! Perhaps the toilets weren't working properly but there was only one usable toilet.

Pickles Pub is located in the Midway Shopping Center on Philadelphia Ave. They are open every day from 11:30AM - 2AM. I was looking for a place to go to watch football and grab some good bar food. Several people recommended this place and I'm glad they did. The food and service were both outstanding. I ordered the award winning pub wings with wing dust and boardwalk fries. The wings were some of the best I've ever had. The wings were a good size, perfectly cooked, and the wing dust (made with old bay and brown sugar) had a great flavor. MacKenzie and the rest of the staff made my first experience a memorable one. MacKenzie was personable, had great energy, and made some great menu recommendations. Pickles has indoor and outdoor seating. Pickup is available, but there is no delivery. The Not So French Dip sandwich was very average. It was a bit dry. My boyfriend really enjoyed his burger with the grilled pineapple slice.

Sat at the bar and the service was great. All really helpful and patient. We ordered the bacon wrapped scallops and they truly were a taste of heaven, cooked perfectly and the bartender who recommended it was spot on!

Do they have seating at the bar currently? Or just tables due to the virus?

Limited seating at the bar to allow some distance between parties. Still plenty of seating there most of the time due to the size of the bar.

Anyone ever do the Reaper Challenge? Worse decision of my life...

We talked our friend Ronnie out of it when he was drinking when he sobered up he was very grateful. I heard horror stories from ED visits to people passing out to two week stomach issues! So no I’m good! Hope you made it out ok though!

    Do they have good food?

Excellent food. My wife and I were very impressed. Much better than your average bar food.

Later, there was a 90s band in addition to the DJ. The band area was empty even though the musicians were good but I guess the youngsters prefer the DJ. Also, in the afternoon they had free popcorn near one of the bars which was a big plus! Although we didn't have diner, we noticed the dining area was really nice and luxurious. Also, there's plenty of parking. If you don't find parking in the parking lot right in front of the restaurant, there's another one nearby connected by a small bridge.

Extremely Disappointing Experience at Fager's Island!!…read more I rarely leave a negative review, but our experience at Fager's Island in Ocean City, Maryland, was so disappointing that I feel compelled to share it. We had made a reservation specifically to dine in the fine-dining section upstairs. My wife arrived before me because I had to park the car, and she was already seated upstairs when I entered the restaurant. When I went upstairs to find my wife, I was immediately confronted by an older woman who I believe was associated with the ownership or management. Instead of politely asking if she could help me, she rudely said, "What are you doing here?" I explained that my wife was already upstairs and that we had a reservation. She repeatedly ordered me to go downstairs and speak with the front desk before coming upstairs. I did exactly that, only to be told by the front desk that we had been seated on the lower level, despite my reservation being for the fine-dining section upstairs. When I explained this, my concern was essentially dismissed. Unfortunately, the poor treatment continued at the table. Our waitress took approximately 15 minutes just to come over and ask if we wanted something to drink. We ordered a bottle of sparkling wine, and when it arrived, we proceeded to order our food. While waiting, I turned one of the chairs slightly so my wife could sit comfortably while I took a picture of her with the beautiful water view behind her. The waitress rudely told me, "You can't turn the chair and take my chair." The attitude was completely unnecessary and made us feel uncomfortable as customers. Then came the food. I ordered my steak medium, It arrived well done. Given my experience as a restaurant owner, the steak appeared to me as though it may have been prepared ahead of time and reheated. My wife ordered the fish, which was described to us as fresh caught. Unfortunately, her fish was also overcooked. We did not make a scene. We politely explained the problem to our waitress and asked that both meals be corrected so we could enjoy our dinner together. Instead of simply correcting the problem, the waitress returned with my steak cut open in the middle and told me that the chef said it was cooked perfectly. It wasn't. I explained again that I had ordered it medium to medium-well and that it was well done. I politely asked them to remake it. I also asked that my wife's fish be remade so we could eat together. My steak came back first, but then my wife had to wait another approximately 10 minutes for her fish. At this point, what should have been a nice dinner had become an extremely frustrating experience. Mistakes happen in restaurants. That's not the issue. A steak can be overcooked. Fish can be overcooked. Orders can occasionally take longer than expected. What matters is how a restaurant treats its customers when something goes wrong. Unfortunately, we experienced rudeness, dismissive behavior, poor communication, disappointing service, and food that was not prepared as ordered. I came to Fager's Island expecting an enjoyable fine-dining experience and instead left extremely disappointed. For the prices they charge and the reputation they have, I expected much better. I would not recommend Fager's Island based on our experience. There are plenty of restaurants in Ocean City where customers can spend their money and be treated with courtesy and respect. Fager's Island: beautiful location, but our experience with the service, attitude, and food was simply not acceptable.

Then someone directed us toward the back, where we discovered a huge outdoor restaurant. What a fun, totally hidden place! The floor is sand, the tables and decor are colorful, there are trinkets hanging everywhere and there's even a shipwreck themed play area in the back where kids can explore while waiting for their food. It has a laid-back beach vibe that's hard not to enjoy. Then there's the view. You're right on the bay, watching boats, birds, and people fishing. Oddly enough, seagulls really weren't a problem. The only one I saw patiently waited for a table to leave, then elegantly hopped into the sand, walked underneath the table, and grabbed a lone French fry. Smart bird. Service was attentive, the food was good, and the drinks were okay. I've had better cocktails elsewhere in Ocean City, but my mojito was refreshing. One thing that did annoy me was the cocktail menu. There were no prices listed anywhere. I asked our waitress up front, and she said most cocktails were around $10-$12, which is reasonable these days. So... why hide the prices? I know restaurants often leave prices off online menus because they want you to come in. But once I'm sitting at the table with a menu in my hand, just tell me what everything costs. One standout entree was the fried shrimp basket. Those shrimp had a delicious seasoning that really made the dish. The fish and chips was another winner...classic, tasty and well executed. The steamed clams were fresh, but on the small side. There wasn't any broth, butter, or sauce either...just a dozen small steamed clams. The crab cake sandwich was tasty, although we've had better ones elsewhere in Ocean City for about the same price. Overall, Fish Tales is a very fun place for lunch or dinner. It's about as casual as it gets. Plastic chairs, your feet in the sand, boats cruising along, kids playing on a shipwreck, and a great view of the bay.
